Chapter 190: A Royale Gate
From the first moment someone rushed into his home and knelt down, the Russian man hadn’t once looked in the kneeling man’s direction.
The kneeling man, on the other hand, was profusely sweating from head to toe. Merely standing in the presence of the terrifying man calmly sitting before him was enough to turn his legs into jelly. Even now, while trying to speak, he felt compelled to avert his gaze from the Mage Lord’s imperious visage.
“Do tell me,” he commanded, his voice concealing a lethal coldness. “I don’t have all day. Do not waste my time.”
“Y-Yes, Sir Mage Lord!” Finally finding his voice, the kneeling A-Rank Hunter stammered. “The… The President has requested that you personally oversee the closure of Oblivion’s Threshold. You see, even though the President understands that you are preparing yourself for the Raid on World’s End, he…”
“Spit it out already!”
RUMBLE!!!
The whole skyscraper and the several city blocks that surrounded it started to violently shake. The Mage Lord’s overwhelming aura pressure forced the kneeling man from one kneeling knee to two. Furthermore, his head was now two inches away from smashing against the opulent wooden floor.
Not willing to risk his life here, the kneeling A-Rank Hunter stammered, “T-The reason why the President wants you to accept this request is because one of our S-Rank Hunter Party’s—Green Dragon—is stuck inside the Apocalypse Gate!”
“Stuck?” The Mage Lord parroted as he finally turned around to face the kneeling Hunter, no longer staring out at the vast sparkling city below. “How are they stuck??”
Under his burning gaze, the kneeling man replied, “T… The Apocalypse Gate… It has mutated. It has now become a Royale Gate…”
Hearing this news put a deep frown on the Mage Lord’s handsome, rugged facial features. He remained motionless and didn’t say a single word for a whole ten seconds. Then, with a slightly annoyed sigh, he rose from his leather chair and said, “Tell the President that I’ll accept his request. But do remind him who actually runs this country. The least he could do is come… personally.”
Sweating like a pig, the kneeling man smacked his head against the floor and shouted, “I’ll follow your orders, Sir Mage Lord!”
“Good.”
FWIP!
With that, the Mage Lord vanished from his spot.
Along with his departure came the sudden teleportation of the long golden staff that he kept by his desk. It had long, cryptic inscriptions running down its sides and held at the top of it an ostrich egg-sized crimson red crystal. The crystal was locked in place by five diamond dragon heads, all of which passively transferred a ridiculous amount of Magicules from the crystal to the rest of the staff.
This staff—it had one name—Meteor Fall.
A powerful S+++ Rank item constructed with the materials gathered from the Apocalypse Gate Raid that put the Mage Lord in the Top 10 nearly a dozen years ago. It was also rumored to be capable of leveling entire nations if the Mage Lord went all out.
And today… today, he might just need to use it again.

—Meanwhile, within the Royale Peak Purple-rank Gate ‘Oblivion’s Threshold’—
“What do we do!? What do we do!?? What in the hell do we do!?!?” Vera, freaking the hell out, started to violently thrash at the crackling red barrier that now barred anyone from leaving.
Unless the Gate gets permanently closed, no one would ever again be returning home.
Though, to be fair, it wasn’t like anyone had much of a survival chance if they couldn’t clear the Gate, anyway. After all, the six entities that were just freed from captivity were not looking all too happy right about now…
One would think that eternally trapped prisoners would be pleased beyond belief once the chains finally came off, but nope. These prisoners had long since lost their minds and now only sought to reap the lives of any who entered their line of sight. Which, at this moment, just so happened to be the tasty-looking S-Rank auras frightfully fluctuating on the other side of the Gate.
Now, as things stand, Viola and the rest have roughly ten microseconds to ready themselves before their sh*t gets rocked…
As this was occurring, Cassius saw several flashing red screens appear in front of him, prompting him to leisurely look over them. The maniacal battle-crazed smirk not once left his extraordinarily handsome face, not even while he readied multiple Skills and read the System pop-ups.
*Ding!!!*

[The Peak Purple-rank Gate ‘Oblivion’s Threshold’ has mutated! The Prison Dimension has locked down according to preset protocols!]
[The only way to leave the mutated ‘Royale Gate’ is to erase the existence of every single prisoner eternally trapped here!]
Cassius’s brows briefly furrowed before they tightened together. The once distant presences were now not so distant, and unless he wanted to end up splattered against whatever was behind him, he had to lock in.
Doing just that, his eyes crackled with blood-red lightning. A jagged demonic six-foot-long katana materialized and slid into his right hand, unleashing a level of bloodthirsty killing intent that caused the surrounding S-Rank figures to snap their heads in his direction.
Though, when they saw who it was, Vera’s face further twisted in anger.
“It’s just that useless man without any aura! He can’t even fly, which is why he’s dumbly standing on that mountain! What an idiot!! Viola, you should come get your pet—”
In the same moment the short-tempered Russian woman went off on Cassius, he blurred from his spot and turned into a hyper-accelerated beam of shadowy light. Before Viola, Vera, and the others even had the time to properly react, his figure had already crossed insurmountable distances! All in an instant!
Somewhere along the way, he crossed paths with five absurdly large blackish white Oblivion Titans with spiky crowns on their heads. He also saw the far bigger Oblivion Acolyte, who no longer moved through the use of its city-sized legs. It instead made use of a floating Skill that bent its legs up at a 90° angle.
The Oblivion monster itself had both its eyes as well as its hidden third eye closed. Moreover, it had levitating above its head a glowing black halo that oozed a storm of savage killing intent…
