Chapter 213: Slayer Soul, Slayer Weapon, Daily Entry
Slayers—once having achieved the Pseudo 3rd Class Slayer Realm—would acquire something that served as proof of their journey thus far. Namely, it was something called the “Slayer Soul” and would take on the shape of various weapons, all dependent on the unique qualities of the Slayer.
After a certain amount of time, this Slayer Soul—which resided somewhere in the mind—would begin to outwardly project a manifestation of itself. This manifestation was the “Slayer Weapon” that Yuna had been referring to. It was also one of the key steps necessary for breaking through into the 3rd Class Slayer Realm. Yuna would soon be taking this step herself, for she had just crossed into the Pseudo 3rd Class Slayer Realm.
“So, you thought I had one of these Slayer Weapons?” asked Cassius, nearing a pillar of blue light.
Yuna nodded before her expression became a bit complicated. “I did. Well, at least that was until I witnessed you undergoing a Slayer Awakening.”
Cassius feigned ignorance. “I have no idea what you mean. Of course, I’ve been a Slayer, and you’re right; this is my Slayer Weapon,” he said while reluctantly flashing the cool tattoo on his right arm. “The truth is that… I’ve been concealing my true strength all this time! But now that you’ve found out, there’s no helping it… Sigh… Oh, the woes…”
Yuna unblinkingly stared at him. From how expressionless her face was, it was clear she didn’t believe a single word that came out of his mouth.
“You’re not a good person…” Although barely noticeable, a small pout formed on her normally stoic face.
Cassius, of course, noticed this right away. A slight smirk formed on his face as an easygoing tune began to echo out with him as the source.
Yuna returned to staring holes into the side of his face, seemingly entranced by how softly his lips pressed against one another. Her thoughts were unknown. However, to everyone cautiously trailing behind them, they couldn’t care less about what she was thinking. They only wished to leave this accursed forest and never look back.
But with how leisurely the two leaders at the front were treating everything, they could only patiently and anxiously slug along behind them…
Eventually, though, the spherical blue light closest to them arrived. Now, it was time to walk into it and see what happens.
Just as Cassius was about to step into the light, he turned around and bowed slightly. “Ladies and Princesses first,” he said politely.
But Yuna was no blind fool. She could clearly see the conniving smirk plastered across his handsome face. Coldly snorting, she said in passing, “Hateful man.”
As soon as Yuna touched the blue spherical light, her foot turned the same color as the light. Then the rest of her turned blue, and within an instant, she vanished.
ZIP!
Cassius curiously lifted his head and looked at where the icy beauty once stood.
The other participants also looked, though they expressed far more emotional surprise. Being first-time participants in one of these Examination Trials, they had no idea something as advanced as a teleportation formation was set in place. Though they did have their suspicions when they suddenly appeared in the notorious “Hunter’s Forest” from the Colosseum.
It also just so happened to be their first time in one of the Mini Nightmarescape Dimensions that the country normally kept highly restricted. Even as noble descendants and high-borns, they hadn’t previously been allowed anywhere near something like a Mini Nightmarescape Dimension.
After a brief period of silence and seeing the freakish man follow behind their princess, Christopher and the others started to sprint. They kept their distance when the scary pair was around, but now that they weren’t, they felt no reason to take things slow.
With the ominous howls and scratching of the remaining Nightmare Treants serving as motivation, they bolted right the f*ck out of there!
One by one, they entered the blue light, until eventually, all 70 or so of them successfully escaped the creepy forest.
The forest returned to an eerie level of silence…

— Meanwhile, back on the Ascension Tower of Humanity’s Trial Floor (Earth), on the island that once housed the Peak-Purple Rank Gate “Oblivion’s Threshold” — some time prior to Cassius’s transportation to the Nightmarescape —
“Hmm…? What’s this over here?”
A government official from the United States had been surveying the ruined area for anything of note. That was when he saw a slightly cracked clipboard lying under a large chunk of whatever unknown substance the Gates were made of.
Picking up the clipboard, the official read the first thing he saw. Every word caused his eyes to progressively widen.

“I… I have to report this up the ladder right away…!”
His declaration was instantaneous, and his feet were just as quick as he ran out of the damaged dome in a panic. Others looked at him weirdly, but he didn’t even register their existence. His mind was wholly focused on informing his superiors of what he found.
‘If this is correct… then that means there was someone else inside Oblivion’s Threshold when it exploded…! But the reports from the S-Rank Hunters—they spoke nothing of an additional person. Now, either they were lying… or something unexplainable occurred inside that Gate…’
The government official was unsure which option was the truth, but either way, what he discovered here would surely make the higher-ups notice him.
‘For fame, money, and women, I’ll personally bring this clipboard back to the US!’ he thought excitedly while boarding a helicopter currently in the process of taking off.
— A few minutes later —
The government official had gone through several higher chains of command. However, as a global crisis in the Antarctic had just been felt around the world, the news related to it caused him to be stopped in the White House. Sitting outside the President’s Oval Office, the official’s sweaty palms fidgeted above his black khaki pants.
