Chapter 260: Killing Him Would Be A Shame
— ~8 Hours Later —
While in the middle of stupidly spamming Teleport and Void Port, Cassius’s vision suddenly darkened. An instant later, he found himself back in the Ice Palace on Neptune. Everything was the same as when he left it.
Cassius blinked before looking at Yimin, Raijin, and his two Growth Weapons. “It’s about time we return home,” he said. “The others have been worried about you, you know, Yimin?”
Yimin cutely tilted her head, index finger to her chin. “Yimin?” she asked. “Why would they be worried about Yimin?”
Cassius faintly smiled in her direction as his steps echoed throughout the empty Palace halls. “It’s because you’re family,” he said once they had left through the Palace doors. “Even though you aren’t on the best of terms with them, they still recognize you as family.”
“Family…”
Yimin knew not what that word really meant. She had no parents, no siblings, and was born alone.
It wasn’t until Cassius appeared in her savagely driven life that she began to feel something other than her innate urge for bloodlust. He was naturally someone whom she unconsciously considered to be family. But what of the women she only saw as annoyances?
Were they also family?
“Yimin doesn’t think so…” Yimin mumbled. She clung to Cassius’s side as they ascended the now-enlarged Raijin, continuing her mumblings. “Yimin loves Master who~~le lots, but loves da b*tches none… Not family…”
“Da b*tches, huh?” Cassius repeated with a sigh. “And you can still be family without unconditionally loving or even liking one another. Most families even hate each other.”
“However,” he added, “when times get rough, family is always there for each other. I guarantee you that if ever you were to fall ill, one of those other troublemakers back home would be by your side, caring for you. Though they’d probably loathe doing it.”
“Really…?”
“Really,” answered Cassius.
*Flap, Flap, Flap.*
Raijin ascended into the void of space, leaving behind the dark blue planet.
After a few moments of disgruntled pondering, Yimin grumbled, “Fine,” she said. “Yimin will be nicer to da b*tches. For Master’s sake. For Yimin and Master’s family.”
Cassius didn’t respond, but she knew he was listening. She softly laid her head against his shoulder, dozing off with a rather conflicted look on her face. One that was beyond adorable.
An indiscernible smile nearly formed on Cassius’s lips. Then he suddenly felt a humming come from the weapons he carried on his person.
“You two are family as well,” he said.
They happily buzzed in response.
A subtle groan then came from their gentle giant of a mount…
Exasperated, Cassius said, “You’re family, too… Same as with Nyxvoldar… Just one big Christmas tree we are…”
Now, everyone was happy.
‘Time to enjoy the return trip,’ Cassius thought, letting himself peacefully drift off. ‘The Idle Grind shall continue when I awake.’

— Meanwhile, deep within the skull-shaped island on Earth —
“How much longer?” an impatient voice sounded.
“It’ll begin within the next 24 hours,” responded a different voice. “Once we purposefully have our subordinates fail the World’s End Gate Raid, we’ll immediately trap the sub-target away from the Abyss. And if that doesn’t work, then you all know what we must do.”
“Indeed…” many voices answered in unison, their owners wearing varying expressions.

Then a sigh echoed. “If only the other puny Dimensions of this place hadn’t decided to lock off entry to our kind, even going so far as to diligently guard their inter-dimensional portals,” said the voice. “If not for that, we wouldn’t have needed to waste so much time and go through such a hassle to get what we wanted. But unfortunately, unlike the slow-reacting Humanity Tower, the rest of them acted fast when we first arrived.”
“Yes,” said a voice. “Unfortunate indeed.”
“But it’ll all pay off in the end,” the voice added. “We are close to accomplishing the goals of the Mothership. And once everything happens as it should, we might even obtain the chance to rank up to actual Elders, which’ll be a far cry better than our current low-level soldier ranks.”
Everyone in the dark space seemed to nod in agreement. All of them hoped for the same thing—a promotion. More resources even.
That was except for one—a beautiful lady who held a rather…special position in the Dissonant’s hierarchy.
‘The time approaches,’ Selena thought, her focus seemingly honed on an area far away from their location. She saw a very large dragon rapidly shrink in size and descend to the Asian Continent. ‘I do wonder if that one will have any surprises in store… I sure hope not.’
‘Killing him would be a shame, after all.’
Selena—the strongest of the descended Dissonants—nearly unleashed an overwhelming amount of killing intent. But before it got out of the confines of her voluptuous figure, it was stopped and contained. She then returned her gaze and focus to the pointless discussion at hand, keeping that boy’s existence to the back of her mind.
— Somewhere in East Asia —
Cassius—who had just descended from the skies—propped himself atop a tall mountain overlooking where Yimin’s duel first commenced. He swept his eyes across the tens of thousands of figures vigorously staring up at the Moon above. They particularly focused on the side of the Moon that had been turned into Scorch Earth, adding an apocalyptic feel to the Moon they once knew. They were there—watching—when the clash between Yimin and the Wolf Deity happened. And when the earth-shaking explosion went off, they were able to feel the shockwaves from hundreds of thousands of miles away.
From that point onward, they became extremely immersed in the absurd fight surely happening above. In fact, they were so locked in that they hadn’t even noticed when a moderately sized shadowy lightning dragon undulated toward a mountain close to them.
Cassius’s eyes briefly paused on the immaculate figure of the S-Rank Voidling Guild Leader. “Viola Voidweaver,” he muttered. “I believe she’s the key to unlocking the other two parts of the Voidwarper Skill Set, which definitely contain the best Void and Space Element Skills I possess.”
