Chapter 332: 12th Layer of the Abyssal Bowl
— Some Time Later —

The 11th Layer was soloed by Cassius with ease; the SSS+++ Rank Boss that stood guard at the end hadn’t stood a chance. Something similar happened for the 12th Layer of the Abyssal Bowl as well, for the EX– Rank Boss Monster died to a single strike.

It was by this point that his efforts over the last period of time really began to show. After all, the Cassius from a few weeks ago likely wouldn’t have even been capable of competing with a Peak SSS-Rank Boss Monster, let alone one nearing the Official EX-Rank.

But this was now Cassius’s reality after all the repeated upgrades to his existence. After all the millennia he spent in the Challenges that gave him his Character Architect Class.

A long period of time that he’d prefer to forget…

“Haiz,” he sighed, his razor-sharp gaze focusing on the entrance to the 13th Layer of the Abyssal Bowl.

By ‘Entrance,’ what should really be clarified was that it was just one really steep decline to who the f*ck knew where. It was pure darkness from this point onward, with only the shrill shrieks of unknown creatures being evidence of their existing life beyond the lip of the 12th Layer.

Even with the presence of Cassius’s protective barrier—one which defended Viola from almost every kind of dangerous thing—those shrill shrieks still chilled her to the bone. Even the previous SS and SSS-Ranked Monsters could have very well erased her from existence with a mere thought if they so wished it, but even then, what she was feeling now was on an entirely different level.

“Yimin… Hungry…”

“….” “….”

Yimin’s declaration broke the ominous atmosphere that permeated the group. She dumbly tilted her head, finger to her chin, asking, “What’s wrong with ya’ll? Why staring at Yimin like that…? Yimin not food, ya know…!? Yimin is Hooman!”

*Bonk!*

“Owchies!”

“You’re not human,” Cassius corrected after kicking Yimin into the maws of darkness. “Why don’t you put your dragon lineage to use and scout out the area ahead of us?”

“Nooo, Masterrr!! Howw coullldd you dooo this to Yimin!??”

Yimin’s begrudged shouts could be heard getting further and further away from Cassius and Viola.

Until…

“Oooh, can fly!!” Yimin bubbled up in excitement while swooping through the darkness at crazy fast speeds. “Look, Master! Yimin can fly!! Am a Hooman that can fly!!!”

*Bonk!*

Cassius bonked the head of the silly silver dragon after suddenly appearing atop her with Viola in his arms. He ignored the profusely blushing Guild Leader, his focus first and foremost on the endless darkness below.

“You’re not a Human, now giddy-up,” he ordered. “You want some more delicious snacks, don’t you?”

Yimin’s huge slitted eyes brightened. “Yimin loves snacks!”

“Then hurry up and go into the Darkness,” Cassius replied. “If you do a good job and get us to our destination faster, then I’ll give you a bigger share than Raijin and Nyxvoldar.”

The two Evomon Summons felt many grievances, but what could they do when it came to their Master…?

“Yimin will do a super duper, balooper good job!” Yimin exclaimed as she happily descended into the endless darkness. “Will do way, way better than the Roojin and Nooxy! Also better than da b*tches!”

Letting her say and think whatever she wanted, Cassius peacefully cultivated on her head.

Viola intently watched him, with seemingly every ounce of her curiosity having been snatched away by him. However, treating her gaze as if it didn’t even exist, he progressed his Demon King Cultivation.

By the time the surroundings changed to something other than total darkness, the maximum amount of progress Cassius obtained in his Demon King Cultivation was stated as such:

[Demon Lord 2.2% → 2.21%!]

“The Demon King Cultivation Path is still as difficult to progress as ever,” he commented at a nigh inaudible frequency. “At this rate, it’ll be ages before I reach the same level as the strongest Demon Kings of HELL. Haiz…”

It may seem like Cassius was rushing things or being especially impatient, but in actuality, it was highly likely that every single Demon King in HELL would hunt him down as soon as he entered the Dimension. And though he was confident in being able to deal with the Low and Mid-rank Demon Kings, his confidence all but left the chat as soon as Demon Kings like Lucifer became part of the equation.

If he encountered that insidious Demon King after embarking on his journey through HELL, then he might as well drop over dead right then and there. At least that way he could save them both some trouble…

However, that was a topic for another time.

Cassius and gang just arrived in the 13th Layer of the Abyssal Bowl.

“This place is…” Viola muttered with an awed sparkle in her hazy purple eyes.

“So yummy-looking!”

Silence…

“…That’s not what I was going for, but I guess that’s one way to put it,” Viola said with an awkward smile. “What do you think, Cass? Those shrieks really freaked me out, but a view like this one might just make any type of fear vanish without a trace.”

“Hum?”

Leaving his reverie, Cassius peeked an eye open and observed the 13th Layer. He was amazed to see bluish-green scenery that looked to be an upside-down terrarium. Fish monsters of massive proportions and krakens the size of planets undulated through the unusual environment.

The air, weirdest of all, seemed to be one part liquid and another part regular oxygen-based. It was so odd and felt even odder that Cassius—with all his experience and knowledge—couldn’t even begin to understand it.

Appraising the System Interfaces of the Krakens and fish monsters while reeling back from the oddities of this place, Cassius saw that all of them were at least of the EX- Rank. Furthermore, there were a couple who looked to be on the verge of breaking through to the Official EX-Rank.

As for how they worked toward this end…

“ROOOOAARGHHH!!”
