Chapter 340: Count Sayzer vs. Mysterious Figure
Sighing, the Count retracted the golden illusory token in his hand. After that, he summoned four more and shot them toward the various Faction Representatives. With his keen sense of perception, he already knew that no one except for Azara Aluria would reject his generous offer; throwing them the treats ahead of time was just a show of good faith.
HELL received one Karma Token.
Woldom received two Karma Tokens.
And surprisingly enough, the owners of the Tower they were in—the Humans—only received a single Karma Token.
Count Sayzer allotted the Karma Tokens based on the cumulative strength of those gathered. And if not out of courtesy for being in their Tower, he wouldn’t have even bothered to give the Humans even one. Their everlasting war with HELL had spread their resources thin, which meant fewer humans—both in quantity and quality.
This was one of the primary causes for such a lackluster force being sent to a Minor Karma Event in their own Tower.
That, and one of the Human Monarchs on the higher Floors was acting up again…
‘Hmm…’ Count Sayzer shifted his eyes around, seemingly searching for something—or someone.
After a moment. ‘It’s only natural that the Heavenly Kingdom doesn’t make an appearance for an event as minor as this one, but what about the Realm of Monsters? Are they still overflowing with Karma because of all these overrated portals they erected?? Copying the naturally formed Gates was a smart idea, but by doing so, they’ve essentially made an enemy of the Ascension Tower itself.’
Count Sayzer hadn’t even bothered to mention the Secret 8th Dimension of Yggdrasil. Though, it made sense; after all, the only times that reclusive group of homebodies left their colossal tree in the sky was… well…
Never.
At least, no public records had ever mentioned it.
“Haiz…” Count Sayzer sighed before gesturing toward the giant crack in space. “If you bunch wouldn’t mind it, then I believe it’d be best if you were to leave before my reinforcements arrive. Wouldn’t want any unfortunate conflicts to arise, now would we?”
No one much liked his tone, but they also fully understood that what he was saying held some truth. Hence, they decided to immediately withdraw.
That was, except for one…
“I’m not leaving!”
“I know…”
Snorting coldly, Azara motioned to her forces. They followed her silent order and got into a three-point formation, with the stronger and weaker among them organized in a strategic manner.
Most of Count Sayzer’s forces were lurking in the shadows or folds of space, so he merely blinked at this grandiose display of Azara’s.
There were, however, a couple on Nightingale’s side who weren’t so covert in their actions.
Bella, for one, had begun to exhibit violent tendencies as soon as she heard the indirect mention of her Darling. Though, luckily for her secret identity right now, Count Sayzer discreetly dampened everything that could possibly match her with the crazed daughter of the Crestmore Duke Family.
Gina and Leon also did their best to soothe their Young Miss. But Gina was left being scorned, whereas Leon was treated like street-side garbage.
No one was more important to the mentally deranged goth vampire chic than her Darling~!
“My Lady…” Gina exasperatedly murmured to herself.
“My Lady…” Leon murmured with a different type of connotation, his emotions a mixture of deeply concealed affection and openly expressed hatred.
The indirect mention of that man also set him off. Especially when considering how much importance Count Sayzer and the Duke and Duchess now put on him.
While murderous thoughts filled Leon’s mind, Count Sayzer made his move, teleporting in front of the largest of the invading spaceships. His forces were right behind him, with Azara and her army lagging not too far behind.
However, before leaving, Azara apathetically turned toward the Ice Senators and various other Gate Prisoners—all of whom were staring absentmindedly, doing their utmost to comprehend the development of recent events.
Dismissively harrumphing, Azara waved her hand and erased all of the prisoners from this layer of existence.
They hadn’t even seen it coming. Nor had they felt it.

It was instantaneous death—the simultaneous deaths of ancient beings who had been trapped on Humanity Tower’s 0th Floor for an untold number of years.
‘The Abyss…’ Their final, weakened thoughts hummed. ‘The True Abyss will devour all.’
Their minds had always been free, but now their bodies were as well. And death was the deliverer of their freedom.
“Bunch of controlled weaklings,” Azara cursed, annoyed by a number of things. “Why is everything involving this Floor turning out to be so complicated??”
“Are you coming, Little Aza?”
*Tick!*
“Don’t call me that, old man!” Azara replied sharply. “And yes, I’m coming!”
Count Sayzer laughed a little before stretching out his hand. This casual action released a red energy that wrapped around the lead spaceship, stopping it in its tracks.
More specifically, it froze.
“You’re Dissonants, right?”
No response.
“That’s fine,” Count Sayzer laughed it off. “I don’t need you to respond. I do, however, require the strongest among you to come out and duel me. I truly am quite curious about your strength, you see.”
— After a couple seconds —
FWOOOOM!
The main hatch to the lead spaceship opened up, letting out the air that had been sealed inside it. A figure bathed in whitish-blue light exited through the open hatch.
“So you’re the strongest?” Count Sayzer inquired.
“No,” replied the mysterious figure as the light surrounding him subsided. “But I’m enough to deal with you.”
“Ho?” Count Sayzer arched a brow. “Well then, I suppose I’ll just have to defeat you in order to lure out the others.”
The mysterious figure gave no response.
But with a swift, almost instantaneous movement, he blurred forward. And before Bella and the rest of Count Sayzer’s subordinates even registered the fact that he had moved, a white glowing blade was already gunning for his neck.
“A fast one, you are,” Count Sayzer mused, kicking outward at countless times the speed of light. “But not fast enough.”
The mysterious figure remained expressionless. “Are you sure about that?”
“What—!?”
