Chapter 341: You Are The Backup!
Turning around in horror, Count Sayzer saw a white glowing blade mere centimeters away from piercing him through.
“This is over,” declared the mysterious figure. “Your death has come, human.”
Fear consumed Count Sayzer’s middle-aged expression.
But then—
“I believe you’re getting ahead of yourself.”
“!!!”
Count Sayzer—having done something similar to the mysterious figure—turned out to be no more than an afterimage. One that the mysterious figure was so focused on stabbing that he wasn’t able to evade the real attack in time.
Or was he…?
“Nice trick,” he said plainly. “It’s just unfortunate that my tricks run deeper.”
SPURT!
Count Sayzer blew a bloody hole straight through the mysterious figure, only to shockingly realize that what he had severely injured was no more than a physical projection!
“You!” Count Sayzer, now officially on edge, threw his fists out behind him.
“Not enough,” said the mysterious figure as he phased through all of Count Sayzer’s desperate attacks, putting his incredible speed on display. “Even in this lesser human form, you still aren’t my match. Give up, puny mortal. This match is lost.”
“Damn!!” Count Sayzer exclaimed while being forced constantly onto the defensive, with the distance separating him and his unknown assailant lessening more and more. “How can you not be the strongest among the invaders this time and still be so powerful!?”
The mysterious figure ignored the question, instead slashing out with a white glowing longsword.
SPURT!
An arm was chopped off!
“ARGHHHH!!”
Under the scrutinizing eyes of Azara, Count Sayzer hollered in agonizing pain. The white energy coated and infused into the mysterious figure’s sword was the furthest thing from simple, as it caused the Count’s wound not only to fail to heal but also to continue to burn the rest of his body.
“You lesser beings have always been so fragile,” the mysterious figure spoke in a tone that did a good job of hiding his disdain. “You have Angels here as well if I’m remembering correctly. I bet they’re not so feeble—”
SPURT!
“What…!?”
The mysterious figure let his freakish eyes fall on his midsection, where he saw the hand that should’ve been cut off now protruding through his gut. More than horror, it was confusion that filled his heart, for he genuinely had no idea how what had happened—happened.
“You’re not bad for an alien.”
Count Sayzer’s mocking voice sank into the mysterious figure’s heart, sending ripples throughout his soul. He believed that he had anticipated everything, but never would he have expected an outcome like this one. The hand sticking through his gut had not only badly injured him, but it had also prevented the flow of his energy.
“Well, since I’m feeling generous today,” Count Sayzer began, “I suppose I don’t mind telling you what I did. You see, but a mere moment before you struck me, I calculated everything and prepared a fake infliction of injury. This was done with a little illusion skill as well as a few adjustments on my end, and voila!”
You lost.”
“I lost…?” The mysterious figure’s glowing aura fully dispersed, with his terrifying humanoid appearance coming into view. “Do you actually think you’ve won, mortal? You!? A mere morta—”
Just as the Dissonant started to transform into its massive Kaiju form, Count Sayzer kindly smiled while blurring. He reappeared on the other end of the Transcendent-rank Dissonant, blood dripping down his arm, and Mars now split in two.
“Yes, I do believe I’ve won,” Count Sayzer nonchalantly said as he swiped off the blood on his arm, not even caring enough to turn around and watch the Dissonant get sliced up millions of times before exploding. “Now then, who’s next?”

Not caring about proper transformation etiquette!
To attack before the transformation concludes—just what sort of incorrigible monster was this Count Sayzer!?
“This old man isn’t as ret*rded as he looks,” Azara remarked in a manner as unhinged as ever. “It’s too bad his strength is still sub-par.”
Oof!
Count Sayzer felt that in the deepest parts of his soul, but despite his bleeding heart, he fixated on the enormous fleet before him. Several extremely powerful presences could be felt pulsating from some of the ships, but the vast majority of the Dissonant powerhouses hid behind closed curtains.
‘Just what is the true extent of the Dissonant’s strength? And are the ones gathered here the strongest among their race?? Or…’ His inner voice dramatically paused. ‘Is this just the tip of the iceberg…?’
“A mortal like you actually welcomes us,” came a deep, resonant voice that echoed throughout the entire Isolated Solar System. “We’re truly honored.”
OOOM!
“!!!” “!!!” “!!!”
A presence unlike any other preceded that anonymous voice, with the appearance of a monstrous humanoid roughly 10 meters in size coming right after. This entity, unlike the first Dissonant, arrived in its original Kaiju form—a form much smaller than a typical Dissonant Kaiju.
Appraising this Dissonant of unbelievable strength, Count Sayzer quipped, “I thought you’d be bigger.”
Finding this joke funny, the Dissonant replied, “You yourself would understand how ridiculous your words were if you knew just what size indicated in our civilization.”
“I take it that means you’re stronger than the first one?”
The Dissonant nodded. “That goes without saying.”
“So does that mean you’re the strongest?” asked Count Sayzer.
The Dissonant laughed even harder at this. “Of course not, but you and the rest of the mortals will soon figure that out for yourselves soon enough. Well, actually…”
*Fwoooop—!*
“The rest of your kind will, but you won’t. After all, you’re already dead.”
SPURT!
“!!!”
In that split instant, not even Azara saw what happened, but what she did know for sure was that Count Sayzer really had died. But somehow, before that happened, the stream of time seemed to have been affected.
Outcomes and certainty were altered, with two fingers now nipping the edge of a technologically advanced spear.
As for who these fingers belonged to…
“Darling~!” Bella screamed out, with hearts swimming around in her reddened eyes.
“There’s no backup, is there, Count?”
A question was voiced, directed at the vampire who had just escaped death’s grasp.
Pausing ever so briefly, Count Sayzer then burst out laughing. “It’s funny that you say that when you are the backup, haha!”
