Chapter 363: Archangel Mikaela and her Daughter
Observing her daughter’s current emotional state, Amaris exhaled a heavy cloud of air. Raising her right hand ever so slightly off her velvety chair, she watched as Flora’s lucidity slipped away, her body slowly collapsing.
Before she could hit the ground, however, the Succubus Queen enveloped her in a magical aura, making her float. Then, she called out a name:
“Aza, come here.”
FWIP!
Appearing within the second, Azara Aluria rebelliously stared at her mother. But her gaze quickly drifted over to the beautiful, teary-eyed girl hovering off the floor.
“I re-negotiated with the Orcs, and despite your heinous crime of slaughtering two of their princes in cold blood, they have decided to forgive you. I reduced your sentence to nil because of this event, but that isn’t to say your punishment has ended.”
Queen Amaris pointed to Flora. “You are to guard your younger sister until the conclusion of the Tournament of Yggdrasil. Do not let her out of this dimension.”
Clicking her tongue, Azara cursed, “Those two pigs asked for it with their leering eyes and scummy words. I did the whole world a favor by killing them—”
“Aza.”
“Fine, fine,” Azara retorted. “It’s not like I was going to reject your request anyway. I’m well aware of that young brat’s exploits as well. It’s better for Flora if she stays as far away from him as possible—him and that overbearing father of his.”
“Yes…” Amaris tensed up at the mention of Adam Steele, still able to vividly recall the world-shaking stories she had heard of him while growing up. “Do well, and by the end of the Tournament, you’ll be free to do whatever you want.”
“About the Tournament,” Aza began, a violence-craving smirk forming on her lips. “I can participate now, can’t I?”
Amaris’s forehead wrinkled.
But ultimately, she nodded. “You’re allowed to participate, but be aware that this only happens if that boy lives past the commencement of the Tournament. Also, you won’t be the strongest, so—”
“Yeah, I know, I know!” Aza laughed off her mother’s words of caution. “I just want to fight strong people! And if that brat actually does survive and make it to the Tournament, I want to fight him as well! He must be even stronger now than when we last met, what with the constant changes in time dilation across the dimensions and floors…! Ha! I can’t wait~!”
“Yes…” Queen Amaris sighed in exasperation. “Now, get going. I wish to be alone now.”
“Yesso, Mother dearest, hehe~!”
Still excited about the Tournament, Aza carried Flora away. Disappearing into the far ends of the palace, she left her mother to meander in her thoughts.
“Everything just keeps becoming more complicated…”

“Mother, am I still not good enough to visit outside the Heavenly Kingdom?”
A voice, both familiar and unfamiliar, carried through the air, accompanied by a faint chorus and the singing of songbirds. The owner of the voice—a young woman with a refined sense of style—walked toward an elegantly decorated gazebo, where an even more elegant, ten-winged woman sat inside.
The young woman had long, luscious black hair that cascaded down her back. Most prominent were her eyes, akin to pools of gold mixed with oceans of stars. Her figure, perfectly rounded in every area, bordered on the pinnacle of the female form.
Yet, despite her unbelievable beauty, the woman inside the gazebo was in an entirely different league. She possessed a level of beauty unattainable by mere mortals—like a genuine goddess.
“Memphis, dear, you know full well what is required of you before you’re able to leave this place,” said the woman known as none other than Mikaela Celestine. “Do remember, I’m doing this for your own sake. There are beings out there who wish to harm me, and with you as an extension of myself, they would harm you. Yet, they’re not likely to stop there; they would also go after anyone related to you if they discovered your existence.
“That is why you must stay within the bounds of the island—until you’re ready.”
“I know, Mother, but…”
Mikaela let out a majestic, feminine giggle. “Is it about that boy again?” she asked teasingly. “The one who saved you and gave you a loving home all those years ago?”
Memphis blushed, her embarrassment written all over her exquisite face. “I-It’s not that, Mother. I just… I just haven’t been able to repay him yet. I owe him more than I’ve given him.”
Dozens of years ago, back on Earth, she had left Cassius and his family after experiencing the evils of human nature—manifested in the form of her uncle. After that, she found a bit of solace in the Earth Crusaders Guild as a powerful S-Rank Hunter.

Then came the event with the Dissonants disguised as world-class Hunters. The appearance of her mother followed shortly thereafter.
After being trained for so long by Mikaela Celestine—the most powerful of the Archangels—she managed to become a Transcendent. A remarkable feat for someone so young—one that would make her a supreme genius no matter where she went.
However, in the eyes of her mother, she still wasn’t ready…
“That impatient glow in your gaze is surely going to get you into trouble one of these days,” said Mikaela, sighing. “But that still won’t make me change my mind. In at most a few centuries, with your talent, you’ll ascend to the Godlike Rank. Then, and only then, will you be allowed to descend to the Mortal Realm and see that boyfriend of yours. And don’t worry, time moves much slower here, so it’s possible that not even a couple of years will have passed by the time you return.”
As red as a beet, Memphis fiddled with her dainty, painted fingers. “I-I told you it wasn’t like that, Mother… He’s like a brother to me.”
“A brother that you wanna hook up with…?” Mikaela tilted her head. “We outlawed such practices eons ago up here after a few ‘unsavory’ incidents, but it appears that humans are still upholding bloodline purity—”
