Chapter 395: May, the Fate Seer
Forcefully exploding the cage and everything around him, Cassius reduced the once grand underground facility to ash. From it, he emerged out the side of a mountain, one beauty in his arms and the other flying beside him.

Once the cloud of dust produced by the explosion subsided, Cassius looked down at the easily frightened girl clinging to him for dear life.

“For someone as overpowered as you are, you’re honestly quite the scaredy-cat, aren’t ya?” he bemused while flying away from the collapsing mountain.

They soon left a wide expanse of mountains and ruins behind, zipping far beyond even the clouds. High up above, they stopped—all so they could look down at what had become of the once-powerful Kingdom of Uguru.

“This is the real Uguru,” Cassius said to May. “But contrary to your dream world, this Uguru Kingdom had evil far more deeply rooted in its politics and citizens. You were but one of many who were simply unfortunate enough to be caught by them and used as a lab rat.”

May was still terrified of the heights, but as she hesitantly stared at the scenery below, scarred memories of the past rushed back to her. Though she couldn’t make out much of anything she remembered, what she felt during her time in that lab was more vivid than anything a memory could provide.

Clinging to Cassius’s robes, she despondently mumbled, “P-Please take me away…”

‘It would appear that our little protagonist has started to remember some things,’ he thought as he followed her request, soaring through the skies alongside his Master. ‘But seeing as how overpowered her Primary Innate Skill is, I doubt whoever planted it in her will allow her to fully recover all her memories.’

{[May, the Fate Seer]}

[Age: Incalculable]

[Description: ??????? ?????????]

[Innate Skill: ‘Seer of All’ (Beyond Godlike Rank)] – One of a kind and the harbinger that leads to the end. With it, the user can see various routes that will come about as a result of any number of actions a person can take. (Effectiveness of skill is dependent on the proficiency that the user has with it)]

‘That world she created inside her mind was one of the manifestations of these ‘routes’ that she can discern,’ Cassius thought. ‘It was also because of this ridiculous cheat-like ability of hers that the high officials of the Uguru Kingdom became so invested in her. They even reserved their strongest Diamond-rank Body Path Cultivators to thwart my intrusion of the secret lab.’

As for why he himself was so interested in getting to this girl… well, it was complicated. But if summed up in a few words, it had a lot to do with those images he saw in his Class Change Quest.

Those graves and the names on them could foretell any number of things, but what Cassius needed was a way to avoid the fate he was most concerned about. Allowing himself to get swept up in the currents of destiny was simply unacceptable.

‘One day, I’ll explain the whole truth to May,’ he thought. ‘But for now, I should give her some time to become accustomed to this new lease on life. Overwhelming her right off the bat would likely only do more harm than good.’

“Say, Dove,” said Cassius, his ruffling turning into a gentle caress. “What’s your opinion on adventures? And have you ever imagined yourself going on one?”

“…Adventures…?” May rubbed her temples, still digesting the fragmenting memories returning to her. “I guess… while in that castle, all I ever wanted was to escape and explore the world and encounter all kinds of fantastical things.”

Her tone turned whimsical toward the end, as a part of her wished that none of this had happened and she was still within her false world, living life the way she always wanted to.

However… she knew that was little more than a fleeting dream…

Still, with this mysteriously kind man now a part of her life, maybe she could live a life just as good—if not better—than what she dreamt of.

Cassius grinned, cupping her cheeks and turning her head to face the endless horizons all around them. “Can you see it?” he asked, seeing her eyes sparkle. “The world is your oyster, and with me, I’ll show it all to you.”

“You will…?”

“Why of course,” replied Cassius. “But I just hope that one day, when I require help that only you can provide, you’ll lend me a hand.”

Lost in the warmth and sincerity of his voice, May nodded absentmindedly. However, even after comprehending what he said, she still would’ve agreed nonetheless. After all, she could instinctively tell that he meant no harm and would naturally not do anything that would negatively affect her.

Cassius showed a kind smile. “I appreciate it more than you can imagine,” he said, before his tone changed as he noticed the unrest of Luma. “Master, what is it…?”

“It’s nothing, humph!” Luma pouted, tapping the air below her. “Just do whatever you want, and take into your arms whichever woman you want.”

‘Oh… so that’s what this is about…’

For dozens of years, Cassius had been traveling all over the Supercontinent of Pathalon. And during the majority of that time, he had to carry his Master in his arms to travel at maximum speed, since he was far faster than her.

And right now, he had no choice but to indulge her wants. After all, over the span of half a mortal lifespan, she had been his guide to the world, leading him to all of the Body Source Crystals and anything else that would assist him in the advancement of his Body Path.

‘Without her, I never would’ve been capable of achieving the Platinum Body so early. Pampering her is fine if you consider how much I owe her.’

In case one forgot, the ranks of the Body Path in the Infinite Character Development Dimension went as such:

1 – Copper Body

2 – Bronze Body

3 – Silver Body

4 – Gold Body

5 – Ruby Body

6 – Amethyst Body
