Chapter 362: An Ancient Terror Awakens, The Everveil Kingdom Is Destroyed
Chapter 362
————
Outside the Everveil Kingdom, a few hundred meters above a grouping of white, fluffy clouds.
“So, young friend Azmodeus, where are you from?” Yun Jin asked. He sat on the front side of the carriage with Sebastian, looking at the crimson-haired man sitting on the opposite side.
“Where am I from, you ask? Well, the short and sweet answer is that I’m from a backwater area. As for the long and lengthy answer… That would be one too long to describe here and now…”
While giving this response, Azmodeus had his chin to his fist, staring out at all the clouds they were galloping over. His mind seemed to be elsewhere when speaking of this topic, and it was quite obvious that he didn’t wish to speak any further about it. Therefore, out of respect for their relationship, Yun Jin delved no further.
However, with the little he did learn, he was able to piece together the clues and deduce that their young friend was, in fact, from a Mortal Realm. Though, as to which mortal realm that would be was still a mystery…
‘If it’s a Mortal Realm with an open destiny spot, then it is highly likely that Azmodeus is a True Enigma. However, if it is one with a filled destiny spot, then there is simply no way that he is the True Enigma… After all, a filled Destiny Spot means that a True Enigma has already grown and developed to full maturity.
From there, the True Enigma will venture out into the ‘Dunes of the Unknown’ that surround all Immortal Realms in the Immortal Funnel… At that point, the True Enigma will have advanced their cultivation far above the All-Encompassing Immortal Realm…’
Even Yun Jin himself was envious of the power and authority that a True Enigma held, and his slightly contorted facial expression indicated that much.
If given the chance, it wouldn’t be past him to befriend a True Enigma and do whatever it took to leech off the immense destiny that one held. As it even surpassed that of Divine Immortal Emperors, just a sliver of a True Enigma’s destiny was enough to allow for repeated ascension!
But with filling a Destiny Spot being an almost impossible task, considering the high demand on Enigma candidates, it might as well have been an unrealistic, whimsical fantasy to hope on young friend Azmodeus being a True Enigma…
‘Sigh… If only the talent requirements weren’t so ridiculous when it came to the ascension of a True Enigma Candidate into a True Enigma… Even those two freaks from all those years ago were considered a once in a blue moon occurrence, likely never to happen again…’
While bemoaning the fate of all Immortals under the pull of the Immortal Funnel, Yun Jin, Sebastian, and Azmodeus had a very peaceful carriage ride. Occasionally, they conversed, but more often than not, the three of them simply enjoyed the cool breeze that occasionally blew through the carriage’s interior.
After a few minutes of this peaceful ambience, the horse-drawn carriage finally arrived at its destination. The harrowing Gate of the Rank 2 Skyweaver Kingdom!
During the ride, they had unknowingly flown over multiple Rank 1 Kingdoms, traversing an untold number of miles. And now, at the end of their brief journey, they found themselves sitting under the grandiose gates of one of the two powerhouse kingdoms.
Though it appeared like an insurmountable wall of gold and silver to most Immortals, for Yun Jin, it might as well have been his home’s front-facing door.
This familiarity with the place was also put on full display when a couple Grade 7 Great Pinnacle Golden Immortal Realm Guards walked to their carriage. After discussing a bit of cordial back and forth with Sebastian, they tipped their caps and permitted entry into the Skyweaver Kingdom.
Click, Clack. Click, Clack.
As the leaping horse slowly troddded toward a slight crack in the massive door, Azmodeus decided to bring up a question that he had been wondering about for a while now.
“SS-Rank Immortal Hunters… How common are they in this kingdom?” He asked curiously.
“Hmm…? Oh, yes, yes.” Catching his tongue and refocusing on young friend Azmodeus, Yun Jin said, “There are around five thousand SS-Rank Immortal Hunters in the Skyweaver Kingdom, as well as seven thousand in the Cloudstrife Kingdom.”
“…That many?” Asked Azmodeus, his expression emulating the amount of astonishment he felt.
Even though he figured the number would be quite large, even that was a bit much…
Slapping his knee, Yun Jin lightly shook his head. “Don’t get it wrong,” he said. “SS-Rank Immortal Hunters are not scattered everywhere like common, everyday cabbages; there are simply a lot of them after countless years of accumulation-”
KABOOOOOM!!!
“???” “???”
While in the midst of a conversation, both the Dragon Slayer and Azmodeus were shocked to hear an ear-deafening explosion reverberate for an unreal number of miles!
At the source of this booming sound, there sprouted a massive mushroom cloud of destructive, crackling energies. And the scariest part was that the mushroom cloud was only becoming larger and larger!
It appeared to have originated in the Everveil Kingdom; however, even from so far away, the mushroom cloud was still around the size of a mid-distance car…

“…T-This is…”
A spine-tingling chill crept up Yun Jin’s back when he felt the overwhelmingly powerful presence shrouded beneath that cloud of death. The pit of his stomach curled and his hair stood on end. Even a true Immortal Dragon was not capable of garnering this sort of reaction from him, which could only mean one thing…
“An Ancient Terror has awakened… And this one is stronger than all the ones that have ever been reported… The Everveil Kingdom; it’s gone, without a trace…”
Fear crept up Yun Jin’s expression as he mumbled in a self-deprecating tone. Even if he moved proactively and informed the King of something he already knew, it would make no difference…
“That thing… Its power is beyond anything that should be in the Heavenbreaker Province… T-This, it shouldn’t be possible…”
All the color faded from Yun Jin’s complexion, and it was no different for Sebastian and even the Immortal Guards outside. Everyone was trembling in fear and trepidation for what was to come…
