Chapter 371: Testing Talents, Signing Blood Contracts
Chapter 371
…
“…”
Jumping a few steps forward because of the ‘nudge’, the first participant approached the Crystal with slow, nervous steps. As soon as he reached it and stuck out his hand, the time between his hand reaching the Crystal and touching it turned into something excruciatingly painful for the young man.
Then, with a hand touch, a bright flash of words appeared in the air above the crystal!
They read:
[Overall Talent Level: E Rank]
[Overall Potential Level: D Rank.]
[Special Talents: More than three prospects – Extend to see.]
“Oh, a D Rank right off the bat? Not bad, kid,” the Examiner said as he walked up to the Crystal and extended the special talents log.
“D Rank Swordsmanship, E Rank Archery, and F Rank Gathering. Those are some very well balanced telants,” the Examiner nodded his head in satisfaction.
After the first participant was done being tested, the other three participants followed his example and put their hands on the crystal. Of the lot, the one with the best results was called Chun Mu. With a C-Rank Potential rating, she was obviously quite proud.
With her button nose pointed at a slant, she walked and watched as the mysterious red-haired young man passed her by and touched the crystal without any bullcrap nervousness.
“???” ‘Surely his results won’t be better than mine,’ Chun Mu thought as she intently observed the series of words that materialized above the crystal.
They read:
[Overall Talent: D Rank]
[Overall Potential Level: Unknown]
[Special Talents: Undefined, Cannot be accessed.]
“???” “???” “???”
Everyone present in the Testing Facility widened their eyes when they saw the results presented before them. Not once had they seen someone get results like these!
Even the Examiner had never seen anything like it!
However, as if on key, they all thought of the exact same thing…
“His prospects must be so low or so few that the Crystal cannot properly identify them! That is hilarious!” One of the boys laughed and slapped his stomach.
He, along with the rest of the participants who survived in the Serpent God’s Forest, couldn’t believe they actually saw the red-haired young man as a threat. It was more of a joke than anything now that they thought about it…
‘I guess I really was wrong in thinking that he was something special,’ the Examiner thought with a disappointed head shake. ‘Still, he has a Talent rating of D, so he can at least be put to good use as a meat shield.’
After setting the matter of the red-haired young man to the side, the Examiner turned toward a side door of the building. “You all were lucky enough to pass, so follow me to the Central Apprentice Knight Hall,” he said coldly.
As the official Knight Apprentices made their way to the Central Apprentice Knight Hall, everyone besides Azmodeus whispered and snickered to one another.
They were clearly badmouthing him, but he was no child. He couldn’t be bothered to care about the pointless quipping of a bunch of children.
While trailing a few meters behind the second-furthest Knight Apprentice, Azmodeus whistled to himself and occasionally looked out at the Omega Knight Towers in the distance.
He wished to one day know what sort of Almighty existences lay within the confines of those towers, and who knows, maybe that day would arrive a lot sooner than expected…

After making it into the rectangle-shaped Central Knight Apprentice Hall, the Examiner and the newly appointed Knight Apprentices walked up to a table. On that table was a pricker and multiple stacks of hoarse paper with the same things on all of them.
“This is?” Asked one of the Knight Apprentices.
The Knight Examiner walked ahead of the group and approached the pricker. “This will be what will fully solidify your tutorship as Knight Apprentices,” he said calmly. “In the same order as before, come over to this pricker and then use your blood to sign your signature over here.”
For the first time so far, the Knight Apprentices were apprehensive about following the Examiner’s command. Signing a blood contract with contents that they couldn’t read was no small matter.
“Ha… You kiddos don’t need to be so nervous,” the Examiner said with a reassuring smile. “The Omega Dome would do nothing to harm potential Omega Knights, and though you can’t understand the language written on the contract, you should still be able to feel the intent.”
“!!!” “!!!”
Just as the Examiner said, the moment a contract was thrown in front of the first Knight Apprentice, he, along with the rest of them, could vividly feel the harmless intent contained within the contract pages.
“You see? There is nothing to worry about,” Min Jin declared as he pushed the first Knight Apprentice toward the pricker.
“…”
Although still a little apprehensive about signing a blood contract, in the end, the Knight Apprentice pricked his finger on the pricker and wrote his name on a contract paper.
After this process was done with, a faint golden light erupted from the contract page. With that, the contract was finalized, and the next Knight Apprentice could now take the stage.
One by one, the Knight Apprentices approached the pricker, and one by one, they signed their names on separate pieces of contract paper.
Finally, it came time for Azmodeus’s turn…
Step, Step, Step.
Out of all those who approached the pricker, his steps seemed to bellow out the loudest, almost as if the contact itself feared doing him dirty.
The other’s felt nothing out of place, but Azmodeus sure could. And though he was curious about the unusual reactions in the atmosphere, he still walked up to the pricker and pricked his finger against it.
After signing his name in blood on a contract paper, the same golden light erupted with the completion of the signature. However, this one was a little different. Albeit a very subtle and nigh unnoticeable difference, it was most definitely there.
‘What was that?’ Azmodeus thought as he furrowed his brows in confusion. ‘It almost feels like the faint golden energy left this building and shot off toward a location extremely far away.’
This mysterious phenomenon puzzled him, but after being urged to move away from the pricker by the Examiner, he had to leave the matter for later.
