Chapter 397: 397 – That Menace Is Finally Gone!
WORLD ANNOUNCEMENT: An adventurer has stepped into the realm of the gods and slain the Infinite Dimensions Dragon King – Soros (Golden)! The mortal world trembles!
WORLD ANNOUNCEMENT: With the fall of Soros, the US Region’s World Keystone – the Golden Divine Pillar – is on the verge of collapse. An extinction-level crisis may soon erupt!
WORLD ANNOUNCEMENT: Reward – 5,000 Free Attribute Points, 6,000 Skill Points, 30 Talent Points, and 10 million Reputation!
All across the globe, players froze mid-quest, staring blankly at the scrolling announcements above their heads.
(IND Region): “The Golden Dragon King… Isn’t he on the same tier as Queen Ganna? How the hell did he die?!”
(Maple Region): “Holy shit! A top-tier Dragon King was actually killed by a player?!”
(NUK Region): “Who did it? Who the hell pulled that off? Why doesn’t the announcement show the player’s ID?!”
(UJ Region): “That reward’s insane. I’d need a full year of grinding to get just half of those attribute points!”
The global community collectively lost its mind, frantically trying to track down who had taken down the Golden Dragon King.
US Region:
“Look at the Leaderboards! That cheat, Orgod, is no longer number one!”
“Whoa! Usher just shot up to #2, right below Sword Soul Guild’s head!”
“Yo, Orgod’s gone! Ding-dong, the menace is dead! Let’s throw a party!”
“US Region’s power balance is shifting—Usher might be making a comeback! It has to be him—how else could his rank rise so fast?”
Dark Dragon Empire.
Inside a Hell-Tier dungeon, the Dragon’s Kiss Guild had just finished a grueling three-day raid. Out of a hundred-strong raid team, barely half remained. They had just managed to take down three high-level Domain Masters and a level-70 Saint Lord boss.
Ivy: “Orgod’s name just vanished, Usher.”
Skyslasher: “Vanished? He’s not just out of the top 100—he’s gone entirely. Could it be…?”
“Deleted his account? Rage-quit?”
“Even his War Supreme gear is off the rankings!” another guild member gasped.
Had Orgod, that walking disaster, finally been killed? Did all his unreleased god-tier gear drop?
Some players even checked with contacts from the Light Dragon faction, only to confirm that Orgod’s name had also vanished from the top 200 Light Dragon player rankings.
For the members of Dragon’s Kiss, who had been quietly biding their time for revenge, this was nothing short of a divine gift.
But the guild’s core members looked at each other with hesitant expressions. They had their suspicions, but none dared speak them out loud.
They were all terrified that bastard’s name might suddenly pop up again.
After all, this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened.
Even though their hearts were bursting with joy and their smiles stretched wider than Ak’s jaw, they held it in and looked toward the front of the party—at Usher.
“No way. The one who killed the Golden Dragon King—it has to be him. I don’t believe anyone else is capable of it.”
Usher’s eyes were deep and calm. He had once stared down the Dread Dragon King of the Dark Dragon Empire. He knew just how terrifying these creatures truly were.

Throwing waves of players at them was pointless. Under a Dragon King’s King’s Authority, numbers meant nothing—players would just get slaughtered.
That meant someone had soloed the Golden Dragon King.
It was the only logical explanation.
And it was one Usher was having a hard time accepting.
“But if he really managed to kill Soros,” Ivy asked, her voice laced with confusion, “why would his name disappear from the Leaderboards?”
Her skin was pale like snow, shrouded in icy mist—like a goddess of frost.
“I don’t know,” Usher said, lips curling into a faint smile. “But I’m not giving up. One day, I will defeat him.”
He had always been a winner. And that man had shattered his pride with his own hands.
But instead of breaking him, it lit a fire inside Usher.
Someday…
He would reclaim the pride of the US’s number one god-tier whale.
Pondenorlin City – Wild Plains.
BOOM!
A golden storm tore across the landscape as Glacier crashed to the ground like a meteor.
The titan puppet finally collapsed under the assault of the remaining gold dragons, its body shattering into pieces.
“You killed my father… Orgod! I’ll hunt you to the ends of the world!”
Soros’s firstborn, Seberk, roared in fury. His dragon body was riddled with sword wounds, his HP down to just 20 million, but his rage burned ever hotter.
“You okay, Glacier?” Orson asked, frowning.
Glacier stood up like nothing had happened, wiped the dragon blood off his chest, and grunted, “No big deal. I can still fight for ten more days straight.”
Then he casually tossed three radiant Divine Dragon Crystals to the ground.
“Can I trade these for some drinking money?” he rumbled.
System Message: Glacier offers to sell you [Divine Dragonheart (Gold)] for 10,000 coins each.
10,000 for a Saint Lord-tier Dragon Crystal? That was highway robbery—in reverse.
These were far rarer and more powerful than standard Dragon Crystals.
Orson’s forehead twitched with three thick black lines. This guy’s wild personality really caught him off guard.
“…Fine, I’ll buy them. Gimme a sec.”
Light-Dark Sword Saints like Glacier couldn’t be measured by stats alone. If the golden dragons hadn’t been spamming massive AoE spells mindlessly, Glacier could’ve soloed most of them with attrition tactics.
Three golden dragons down—at the cost of one titan puppet at a tenth of its former strength.
“Watch out!”
Orson’s eyes narrowed. A flash of purple crystal light streaked down from the sky like lightning.
Glacier tried to dodge but was too late—he barely raised his arm to block.
-1!
Orson blinked.
That strange attack from the Purple Gold Dragon King had only dealt 1 damage?
But something felt wrong. The purple glow burrowed into Glacier’s arm—and instantly, a crystalline flower bloomed from the wound, rapidly spreading across his arm.
“Don’t let it latch onto you! That’s the Purple Gold Dragon King’s King’s Authority!”
A voice called out from above.
Orson looked up in shock.
A sleek, black-haired man floated in the air—charming, graceful… and strangely familiar.
Wait a minute. That voice…
“Flame Fosset?! What the hell?! Why do you look so young?!”
Orson was floored. The sleazy old bastard was now ridiculously good-looking.
He shook his head. Not the time to admire pretty faces. He glanced at the status window—at the Purple Gold Dragon King’s buff.
King’s Authority: Eternal Seal
Effect: Any target injured by the Purple Gold Dragon Curse becomes sealed on impact. Once the seal takes hold, the target is immobilized and unable to use skills. Duration is based on resistance: 1 to 10 minutes.
Only way to break the seal: take another direct hit.
This was on par with Soros’s divine laws.
One hit = you’re stuck. Only way out? Tank the next blast.
Considering the Purple Gold Dragon King’s terrifying power, even a minimum one-minute seal could be a death sentence.
“Get out of the way!”
Veijander roared, his voice shaking the land. He hurled his Artifact, Flame of Thunder, with all his strength.
CRACK!
A streak of lightning tore through the sky and smashed into the ground. The purple crystals erupting from the earth shattered into dust.
“Still distracted during a fight? You must have a death wish!”
Velorith sneered.
King’s Authority: Lightning Sovereignty
Effect: +200% Move Speed, +100% Physical Damage, +100% Dragon Curse Magic Power, and 100% chance to Paralyze on Hit.
Her eyes crackled with lightning as she charged forward in her humanoid dragon queen form, blade of thunder in hand.
Of the four Dragon Kings, Velorith was the most aggressive. Her Authority directly boosted her combat power, making her the deadliest in head-on combat.
“Arghhh!”
Veijander cried out as arcs of lightning danced across his body, paralyzing him mid-swing. He couldn’t move at all.
-30 million (Crippling Strike)!
Electric light flashed—his legs were cleaved clean off, the flesh charred and torn.
He fell like a broken kite, spiraling downward.
Velorith: “You dare kill my kin, mortal? You should die for that! And Tulikiki—you cowardly little rat!”
She gave Orson a passing glance before lunging again at Veijander.
“Damn it!”
Veijander cursed, using Body Domination to regrow his legs and scramble to his feet. He raised his arm and recalled Flame of Thunder.
BOOM!
A wave of earth surged as he was blasted hundreds of meters away by another empowered strike. Even with his Artifact, he couldn’t withstand the boosted Lightning Dragon King—his HP now dropped to less than half.
“This is bad…”
Orson’s expression turned grim.
He glanced at the Crimson Lizard King, still wrapped in that pulsating dark red cocoon.
The Godforge Furnace setup had worked once against Soros.
But pulling it off again? Not likely. The remaining two Dragon Kings wouldn’t fall for the same trick.
Now, with two enraged Dragon Kings and five golden dragons charging in…
They might not make it out of this one alive.
