Chapter 344: Chapter 342: Fight with the King lurker
As Seojun stood before the massive creature, blue screen appeared before his eyes:

[System Appraisal Activated…]

[Name: River Lurker King]

[Rank: A

[Abilities: Regeneration, Acidic Spit, Enhanced Strength, Spawn Production etc…]

[Description: The River Lurker King is the final evolution of the Lurker species. Unlike common beliefs, the King is the true ruler of the nest. Lurker Kings devour the Queen after sufficient offspring are created, absorbing her life force to maintain its own production capabilities. This cycle ensures constant spawning and growth of the nest.]

Seojun raised an eyebrow.

[The King consumes the Queen. This gives the King more power and the ability to lay eggs by itself. Efficient, isn’t it?]

Seojun smirked, twirling the crimson dagger in his hand. “Efficient… and brutal.”

[Be careful, Host. The King is stronger than the rest. It’s not just big for show. Its regeneration rate is also troublesome if not handled quickly.]

Seojun stretched his neck, cracking it lightly. “Good. I was getting bored.”

The King hissed loudly, its massive tendrils whipping through the air, splattering green droplets on the ground. The air grew thicker with tension, and the cavern walls seemed to vibrate with each screech.

“We’re on the same level now,” he said, his voice echoing in the wide cavern. His white hair shimmered under the dim light, and his eyes locked onto the King’s many, glimmering eyes. “Let’s see who has the upper hand,Your Majesty.”

The Lurker King lunged forward, its many legs skittering across the stone floor with unnatural speed. Seojun’s eyes flashed with excitement as he dashed forward to meet it head-on.

The Lurker King screeched in response, its legs scraping against the stone with sharp, metallic sounds. It lunged forward, its massive maw wide open, rows of jagged teeth glistening with acidic saliva.

Seojun didn’t flinch. With a quick step to the side, he avoided the King’s first strike, the creature’s jaws snapping shut with a thunderous clap right where he had been standing.

He dashed forward, moving so fluidly that his figure seemed to blur for a moment. His dagger flashed, carving a clean line across one of the Lurker King’s legs. A burst of dark green blood splattered across the floor, sizzling on contact with the stone.

The King roared in fury, twisting its body with surprising speed. Its tail whipped through the air, aiming straight for Seojun’s torso.

Seojun slid under the swing, his body low to the ground as he dragged the dagger along the underside of its tail, leaving a deep, oozing gash. He rolled back to his feet, flicking the green blood off his blade. “You’re big, but you’re not untouchable,” he taunted,

The King let out another ear-piercing screech, its massive legs stomping down with enough force to shake the cavern. Rocks crumbled from the ceiling, dust clouding the air, but Seojun’s stance remained steady.

The Lurker King charged again, this time faster, its many legs moving with surprising coordination. Seojun waited, his eyes narrowing as it approached. At the last moment, he leapt into the air, flipping over its snapping jaws. He twisted mid-air, his dagger flashing downward to slice off two of its eyes.

Green liquid spurted out like a fountain, and the King screeched wildly, shaking its massive head in pain landing gracefully behind the creature.

The Lurker whipped around, its massive claws scraping along the ground as it charged once more, but Seojun was already moving. He dashed to the side, his movements fluid and precise, his dagger cutting through its legs one by one.

The King stumbled, its body unbalanced with three of its legs now severed. It screeched again, more desperate this time, flailing its limbs in every direction.

“Panicking already?” Seojun said, twirling the dagger around his fingers. He stepped forward, ducking under a wild swing, and plunged the crimson blade straight into the beast’s side. The blade hummed with power, sinking deep into its flesh.

The Lurker King screamed, thrashing wildly as it tried to dislodge him, but Seojun held firm. His expression remained calm as he dragged the dagger along its body, carving through its thick, armored hide with little resistance.

The beast staggered back, its body leaking dark green blood from multiple wounds. It glared at Seojun, its remaining eyes burning with rage. But Seojun only brushed some dust off his shoulder. “You’re still standing? I guess I’ll just have to try harder.”

Without another word, Seojun rushed forward, his speed blurring his figure. The Lurker King swung its tail desperately, but Seojun slid beneath it, his dagger flashing upward to slice it clean off.

The tail thudded to the ground, twitching. The King screeched, stumbling backward, its balance entirely shattered. Seojun appeared before it in a flash, looking up at its massive, quivering form.

“You’re done,” he said simply. His dagger gleamed with mana as he plunged it straight into the creature’s head, right between its many eyes. The Lurker King let out one final, deafening scream before its body went still, collapsing with a thunderous crash.

Seojun pulled out his dagger, flicking off the green blood. He looked down at the massive corpse, his expression calm and unbothered. “I guess I had the upper hand after all,” he murmured, sheathing his blade.

Ding!

[System Notification! River Lurker King defeated.]

Ding!

[Hidden Dungeon has been succesfully cleared!]

Seojun sighed. “Turn off the global notifications,” he ordered.

The System hesitated for a moment before responding. [Are you sure, Host? Some notifications might be important.]

“I don’t want to hear it right now,” Seojun replied firmly. “Just silence it.”

[System Alert: Global Notification Override Detected.]The Global System Alert for the Hidden Dungeon has been temporarily silenced.

Seojun stepped closer to the fallen Lurker King, its massive body still twitching slightly. He knelt down, placing his hand over its chest, and with a quick, precise movement, his dagger pierced through its thick hide. The blade slid effortlessly, guided by Seojun’s steady hand, until it reached the core.

He pulled it out, and with it came a pulsating, dark blue core that shimmered with mana. Seojun held it up, observing the way it glowed in his palm. “Not bad,” he muttered, slipping it into his inventory.

——

Seojun unaware of what’s happening Next, he reached in deeper, feeling around the King’s flesh until his fingers touched something dense and warm. With a firm pull, Seojun yanked out the heart—a massive, dark organ, still faintly beating with lingering energy. He observed it for a moment before nodding to himself and placing it in his inventory as well. “The heart of an A-rank beast. That’ll come in handy.”

Seojun dusted off his hands, stepping back from the corpse. His eyes flickered to the clusters of eggs still pulsing in the corners of the cave. “Can’t have you hatching now, can we?”

He raised his hand, his fingers crackling with mana as a small flame appeared, flickering wildly before solidifying into a dense, burning sphere. The fireball hovered just above his palm, its heat intensifying with every passing second.

“Fireball,” he whispered and vanished in the cave.

The fireball shot forward with blinding speed, a trail of heat sizzling in its wake. It smashed into the center of the egg clusters with an explosive BOOM!

The impact shook the entire cave. Flames erupted outward, scorching the walls and turning the eggs into ash in an instant. The fire roared, spreading across the stone floor and licking up the remnants of the Lurker’s nest. Smoke and heat filled the space, and the walls trembled slightly under the pressure of the explosion.
