Chapter 409: Chapter 407: Show off
Seojun looked at Nymira who was now standing tall with Sui sitting on her shoulder, Then Seojun said. “Take care of them. I’m leaving them to you for now. You’ll be in charge until I get back.”
Nymira nodded and bowed her head respectfully. “I will do my best, Master,” she said seriously.
Then, with a quiet flash of light, Seojun disappeared from the field.
Right after he vanished, Nymira’s soft expression changed back to her usual serious face. Sui, sitting on her shoulder, copied her with a tiny frown and puffed cheeks, trying to look strict too. “Kyuu!” he said with determination, like he was helping Nymira take command.
The students all felt a strange pressure coming from Nymira, a quiet but heavy feeling that made them straighten up quickly. Almost like something was pressing down on them, they all stood in line without even thinking, backs straight, eyes forward.
Nymira’s sharp eyes scanned them all, and then she looked at Nathan and Sion who were still recovering. “Can you move properly now?” she asked in a calm voice.
Nathan nodded once. “Yes.”
Sion answered, “I can.”
“Good,” Nymira said, then took a step forward.
“I will now begin your training,” she continued, “But today, I want to see your current level. Show me your skills.”
The students looked at each other, some nervous and some excited. Nayoung whispered to Minseok, “This feels scarier than Professor Seojun…”
Minseok nodded.

Now the students were standing in the middle of the field. On one side was Team Nathan — Nathan, Nayoung, and Minseok. On the other side was Team Yoora — Yoora, Jinhyu, and Hannah. Nymira stood in between them with Sui still sitting on her shoulder, both looking serious.
“Listen,” Nymira said in a calm but firm voice. “This training will have three parts. The first is physical combat only, Just your body and basic moves.”
The students nodded, understanding her rules.
Nymira continued, “One person from each team will fight. The others must watch and learn from the fight. After that, we will go to the second part. In the second part, you can use everything except your beasts. Magic, aura, weapons, anything you have—except calling your familiar. Minseok will be exempted to it.”
Sui nodded beside her, puffing up his chest and copying her serious tone. “Kyuu!”
Nymira’s voice turned a little softer but still strict, “The third part will be the beast battle… but I will choose the time. I will tell you when that will happen.”
She stepped back and looked at both teams. “Now choose your first fighter.”
Team Nathan looked at each other. Minseok stepped forward with a small smile and rolled his shoulders, “I’ll go first.”
On Team Yoora’s side, Jinhyu cracked his knuckles and stepped forward. “I’ll take him.”
Nymira looked at the two boys and then raised her hand.
As soon as Nymira’s hand dropped, Minseok moved first. He rushed toward Jinhyu with a wide swing, but it was too slow. Jinhyu dodged easily and tried to land a punch, but Minseok stepped back awkwardly.
Their movements were a bit clumsy. Minseok’s stance wasn’t steady, and Jinhyu didn’t have the right timing. They threw a few more hits at each other, but neither landed anything solid. Both were trying, but it was clear—they didn’t have enough experience in close combat.
Nymira watched for a few seconds, Then suddenly, in the middle of Minseok’s next swing, she raised her hand and snapped her fingers. “Enough,” she said flatly.
Minseok froze in the middle of his move. Jinhyu lowered his arms in confusion.
“Huh? Already?” Jinhyu blinked, looking at her. “But we just—”
“No need,” Nymira said, already turning away. “I’ve seen enough.” Minseok frowned a little and scratched the back of his head. He wasn’t even tired yet.
“But… we didn’t even get serious,” he mumbled.

Sui, still sitting on her shoulder, copied Nymira’s gesture. “Kyuu~” it said firmly, as if agreeing that the fight was over.
“Next round,” Nymira said in a calm tone, looking toward both teams.
Both girls stepped forward. Nayoung stretched her arms, grinning with energy. “Let’s go, Hannah~! Don’t hold back, okay?” Hannah smiled a little and got into position, more focused than Nayoung.
Nymira raised her hand again. “Begin.”
Nayoung charged in first, her feet tapping quickly against the ground. Her stance was loose, full of excitement, but she aimed low again, trying to sweep Hannah’s legs.
Hannah stepped aside, her arms raised to guard. Their legs tangled briefly, but both recovered. Hannah struck next—two quick jabs aimed toward Nayoung’s shoulder.
Nayoung blocked the first with her forearm, but the second almost hit her cheek. She leaned back with a grin.
They circled each other, this time slower. Nayoung feinted a kick, then rushed in again with a clumsy punch. Hannah caught her wrist and stepped aside, trying to redirect her momentum, but Nayoung was heavier than she expected and didn’t go down.
Instead, they staggered together, laughing a little, then reset. Nayoung came in again, more cautious now, ducking low. She aimed a sloppy elbow toward Hannah’s ribs. Hannah jumped back, almost lost her balance, but managed to pivot and counter with a low kick. It brushed Nayoung’s shin—not enough to hurt, but enough to make her back off.
Their movements weren’t perfect—Nayoung’s footing slipped once, and Hannah’s strikes didn’t always follow through—but the effort was there. Every dodge and strike showed that they’d practiced.
Maybe not for years, but enough to stand out. Nayoung tried one more time, dashing forward with a wide swing. Hannah blocked, barely. Their arms locked for a moment. Both girls were breathing hard now.
“Enough,” Nymira called, her voice firm. They stepped apart. Nayoung skipped back with a big smile, wiping her forehead. “That was fun!”
Hannah nodded calmly, brushing sweat from her brow. “You’re fast,” she said quietly.
From the sidelines, Jinhyu leaned toward Minseok and whispered, “They’re way better than us…” Minseok sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Yeah. Not unbeatable, but definitely ahead. I think we just got a new reason to train harder…”
