Just call me Thor - Chapter 622
Chapter 622: Witness history
Forty-nine Supreme Beings?
Maxen was momentarily stunned. He couldn’t understand why there were so many Supreme Beings.
Mike’s own power gave him a better vantage point. Naturally, he could see far more than Maxen could.
Those “Supreme Beings” were a mix of reality and illusions. Not every single one was a true-blue Supreme.
After all, in the previous era, there hadn’t been so many Supremes for the Supreme Demon God to devour.
The problem lay in the Supreme Demon God’s cunning strategy:
He had carved off a portion of his own power and molded it into forty-nine “embryos,” then stripped away the tangled assortment of consciousnesses inside him.
Those Supreme-level consciousnesses were free to move from one embryo to another. It was simple logic: the embryos’ power originated from the Supreme Demon God, and those consciousnesses were extensions of the Demon God himself. Both sides shared the same source, so fusing together was no big deal.
In other words, it was like having forty-nine cups but only nine lids. Any time a lid matched up with a cup, a demon creature capable of genuine Supreme-level combat would appear. And thanks to the Tower of Truth being their home turf, they enjoyed a substantial advantage.
If Mike chose to clear the Tower floor by floor, each time he’d be up against a true Supreme Being. Even if he beat one or forced it to retreat, the Supreme Demon God could easily slip away and set up shop on the next floor to wait for him.
“Clever,” Mike scoffed without further comment.
When the Supreme Demon God really had to resort to plotting, it meant he was in deep trouble.
So, ironically, as soon as the Supreme Demon God started scheming, Mike was the one who felt more at ease, almost amused.
“Have everyone at Ultimate Lord level and above gather up,” Mike said casually. “We’ll meet at the hospital. Wait for me there.”
Then he strode forward. Maxen blinked. “What about you?”
He was baffled that Mike would send everyone else off to convene while he himself stayed behind.
Facing the Tower of Truth, its skies churning with demon energy, Mike’s lips curved into a slight smile.
“You guys go on. I’m just gonna kill a Supreme real quick and then I’ll join you.”
Maxen: …
…
Tower of Truth, Fiftieth Floor.
Demonic energy had seized absolute control here, leaving no room for normal life to survive. Two figures popped in one after the other. Thor and Shadow One.
Mike remembered that he’d promised Shadow One he would help her with something on this fiftieth floor.
The moment the two arrived, the demon energy around them thinned slightly and cleared a small patch of space.
Of course, that courtesy wasn’t out of respect for Shadow One.
Mike’s might alone made that swirling demon energy keep its distance.
The Supreme Demon God never cared about saving face; only raw power mattered to him.
“Hang on. I’m gonna call in some folks,” Mike said.
In the next instant, a few others appeared at Mike’s side: Vladimir in the middle of devouring a drumstick, Dracula roused from a nap in his coffin, Gabriel dressed like a fisherman, and Sylvanas, sporting a thoroughly puzzled look.
What, he called in reinforcements again?!

Dracula opened his eyes in confusion. Once he realized the enemy up ahead was a Supreme Being, he nearly spat blood in shock.
“Did you yank us out here to fight a Supreme Being? Are you trying to get us killed?”
Just as confused, the others felt this battle was way out of their league, uncertain why they were there.
Vladimir, however, caught on first: he stuffed the last of his chicken into his mouth and swallowed, then said confidently, “Thor’s about to solo a Supreme Being!”
In other words, they hadn’t been summoned to lend a hand—they were here…to witness history.
They all turned their focus to the monstrous presence coalescing in the demon energy.
Sylvanas recognized the creature’s origins and explained to the group, “That used to be a Supreme Being from the Spirits Race. They once forced their way through to Level 1000, only to fail shortly after. People said they’d died ages ago—apparently, they specialized in lightning defense…”
Boom—
A thunderous bolt of lightning tore down from above, shattered the darkness, and reduced everything to dust.
The demon creature lurking in the black haze was obliterated on the spot.
The onlookers gasped, stunned speechless, with no idea how to express their feelings.
“What were you saying?” Thor asked, turning around with an innocent look. “Couldn’t hear you over all that noise.”
…
Sylvanas was at a loss for words. That Supreme Being, known for its resistance to lightning, was one-shotted by Thor using lightning!
Thor was beyond powerful now, far surpassing any non-human Supreme Being.
Once the fiftieth floor reset to normal, things did not unfold the way everyone had hoped. No surprise, the Supreme Demon God wasn’t about to leave humanity alone.
As the fiftieth floor returned to normal, a subtle change took place.
A new demon creature was forming. In no time, it reached the strength of a Nine-Star Lord—maybe even stronger!
Vladimir gave a dramatic shout, “What the hell’s going on?!”
Not that he really cared—he just felt like he ought to look shocked to match the atmosphere.
Dracula murmured thoughtfully, “Looks like the Supreme Demon God’s rebuilt each floor. Even if you retake a floor, it’ll keep churning out new demon creatures.”
As long as the Supreme Demon God lived, the Tower of Truth would stay like that. Any seed there would grow into a demon god or even a Supreme Being, then eventually try to reclaim that floor.
Meaning that even after dealing with a Supreme Being, Mike would still have to leave someone behind to keep an eye on the demon hatching there. If it grew too strong, they’d have to kill it again, over and over.
Sure, it didn’t sound too daunting in theory, but with fifty floors to manage, it’d be a colossal headache. Humanity simply didn’t have that many top-tier fighters to spare. If any single floor got out of hand, the damage could be catastrophic.
“Well, one way or another, this calls for a long-term plan,” Mike said, deciding right then. He put Shadow One in charge of monitoring the fiftieth floor. Everyone else had other business to handle.
As for the favor Shadow One needed, it would have to wait for now.
…
Leaving the Tower of Truth behind, Mike made his way through the Forest of Truth and ran into two familiar faces: Shadow Three and Shadow Two.
Shadow Three was covered in flame, looking like Ghost Rider. That was the price of rescuing Shadow Nine from the Supreme Abyssal. Oddly enough, Shadow Three had grown accustomed to it. Those flames helped temper his source and further boosted his power.
Shadow Two, meanwhile, seemed in better spirits than ever. Her eyes sparkled as she asked excitedly, “Fourth Bro, I’ve been thinking about you day and night these past years—did you ever feel my love?”
Mike: …
They chatted briefly, not diving into much detail. Mike was in a hurry to get to the meeting, but Shadow Three found himself stuck in the Forest of Truth.
“Fourth Bro, we can’t get out right now,” Shadow Three said bitterly.
The Supreme Demon God was sealed inside the Tower of Truth by Apollo—and apparently, that had roped Shadow Three in by mistake, too. Friendly fire at its finest.
Mike was surprised, though, that Shadow Two could move around freely.
He glanced at her bouncing gait. “So why can you leave, but Shadow Three can’t?”
Shadow Two was currently walking on her head rather than her feet. She answered in a perfectly justified tone, “I never ‘walked out’!”
Mike: …
Shadow Two was just insane enough to be creative—walking on her head had to be one of the most bizarre stunts anyone had ever tried.
And so Mike brought Shadow Two along to the hospital.
…
Not many people were in attendance at the hospital meeting.
Humanity had only three Ultimate Lords:
• Blood Ultimate, who had recovered considerably from old injuries compared to a decade ago.
• Nova Voidwalker, who had advanced further and was now nearly at quasi-Supreme power.
• The other Ultimate Lord, who was basically the same as before.
Besides these three Ultimates, there were Maxen and Professor Gregory, plus two more residents in adjacent wards: Calderon and Cedric.
Mike got straight to the point, explaining the chaotic situation inside the Tower of Truth—especially the fact that every floor needed a guardian. He emphasized that any floor guardian had to be at least a Nine-Star Lord in strength:
“That’s what’s causing the big headache,” he concluded.
They sat in somber thought. Every single floor demanded a human powerhouse to keep vigil. Sure, Thor could handle the Supreme enemies themselves—but he couldn’t split himself into fifty copies to safeguard each floor. And even if he could, that was hardly a good use of his ability.
Ultimately, everything looped back to the Supreme Demon God being the root cause. Toppling him was the real goal—babysitting each floor was a huge waste of high-level resources.
But at this point, humanity didn’t have nearly enough strong fighters to spread out across fifty floors, especially if each one required a Nine-Star Lord or better. On top of that, the higher the floor, the tougher the challenge.
After a brief silence, Maxen decided he had to say something. But in front of such an important crowd, every word would be remembered. He had to be dead sure not to mess up. Whatever he said had to be so solid that no one could argue.
With all eyes on him, Maxen took a bold step forward.
“I propose,” he said slowly, “that Joseph guard the fiftieth floor.”
