Just call me Thor - Chapter 624
Chapter 624: Erinyes
Tower of Truth, Fiftieth Floor.
Mike stood before Shadow One and asked,
“So, what is it you want to do?”
He had once promised Shadow One that he would help her with something.
In return, Shadow One had pledged her full support for Mike’s work.
And she had kept her word.
Back then, Mike had been weak, lacking the strength to fully control Guardian Shadow.
Shadow Three’s stance was unclear, and Shadow Two was… well, insane.
Only Shadow One had firmly supported Mike.
Now, it was Mike’s turn to repay that support.
“I… am the shadow of the Tower of Truth,” Shadow One said, without much hesitation about revealing her origins.
If Mike wanted to know, he likely already did by now.
“I want to become the Tower Spirit!”
Shadow One explained,
“It’s not about gaining more power.
If I want to truly live, I need to take the position of Tower Spirit.
The current Tower Spirit… well, we get along, and they’re willing to step down, but we’ll need some help.”
Mike chuckled.
The position of Tower Spirit in the Tower of Truth wasn’t exactly a desirable one.
Especially now, with the Supreme Demon God in his death throes, the Tower Spirit’s role was practically a high-risk job.
The current Tower Spirit, for reasons of their own, was eager to leave.
But Shadow One had no choice.
In all of Guardian Shadow, only two beings were true “shadows”:
Shadow One and Shadow Nine.
The two shared a similar plight.
Shadow Nine’s contributions to humanity were beyond question.
In return, humanity had helped Shadow Nine truly come to life, transforming him into a real human.
It had taken the combined efforts of three Supreme Beings to achieve this.
Shadow One, of course, wanted the same treatment.
The problem was… she didn’t have that kind of support.

Her only option was to take a different path:
Seek the help of a Supreme Being, take control of the Tower Spirit position, and then transform into a real human.
It was a viable path.
The only issue was that Shadow One didn’t have the strength to do it on her own.
With Morpheus dead, Ares trapped in the Abyss, and Apollo notoriously difficult to deal with…
Shadow One had no choice but to turn to Thor for help.
“Alright,” Mike said, nodding.
“But to make this happen, it’s not enough for me to help you.
We’ll also need the current Tower Spirit’s consent.”
In truth, even if the Tower Spirit refused, Mike could still force the matter.
But he didn’t want to.
Mike was willing to help Shadow One, but not at the cost of compromising his principles.
“I understand,” Shadow One replied, nodding.
“I’ll need some time to prepare…”
While Shadow One made her preparations, Mike returned to his private space.
As soon as he arrived, Fool Master approached him.
“I’m heading back to my home turf for a bit,” she said.
Her home turf, of course, was the Abyss.
Previously, Fool Master had tried to leave, but Mike had stopped her.
At the time, Apollo was preparing for his final battle with the Supreme Demon God, and the world was in chaos.
It was too dangerous for anyone to leave.
So Mike had come up with an excuse to keep Fool Master around.
Now, with Mike as the Supreme Being and the world relatively safe,
He had no reason to stop her.
Besides, from the way Fool Master spoke, it sounded like she planned to return eventually.
Carrying her suitcase, Fool Master clearly wasn’t asking for Mike’s permission.
But Mike had a pretty good idea why she was going back.
He chose not to say anything, simply nodding in approval.
“Oh, by the way,” Mike called out as Fool Master was about to leave.
“You dropped this a few years ago. I picked it up for you.”
He tossed a half a copper coin, which landed neatly in Fool Master’s palm.
No need for parting words.
A crack opened in the private space, and Fool Master disappeared in the blink of an eye.
She didn’t stop on Earth, heading straight for the Abyss.
—
In the void, the Thirteenth Abyss.
The Thirteenth Abyss was eerily quiet.
Fool Master sat on a throne, overlooking the Abyss below, idly playing with the half a copper coin in her hand.
The Abyss was empty.
There were no demon creatures left in the Thirteenth Abyss.
Only one demon god remained.
Sitting on her throne, she felt the familiar power returning to her body.
The half a copper coin rolled endlessly between her fingers.
The Thirteenth Demon God.
She had another identity:
The Goddess of Death and Misfortune, Erinyes.
The Thirteenth Abyss was a mysterious place.
No one knew the true origins of the Thirteenth Demon God.
During the Blood War between humanity and the demon race,
A new demon creature had quietly risen in the Abyss.
By the time anyone noticed her, she had already become a demon god.
Some in the demon race speculated that this demon god was their potential Supreme Being,
The successor to the Second Demon God, who had mysteriously disappeared.
At first glance, the theory seemed absurd.
But upon closer examination, it held some merit.
The missing Second Demon God had been hailed as a genius among the Primordial Demon Gods,
The true favored child of the Abyss.
After her disappearance, the Abyss would naturally seek a new favorite.
The Thirteenth Demon God became that favorite.
Though she ranked last among the demon gods, her true strength was difficult to gauge due to her reclusive nature.
In fact, the Thirteenth Demon God was quite unusual.
She didn’t associate with the demon race, nor did she fight humanity.
Her actions were entirely neutral.
The other demon gods had no interest in disturbing her.
She was too weak to be worth killing, and defeating her wouldn’t make anyone stronger.
The last time the Thirteenth Demon God had taken action was when she teamed up with Shadow Nine to ambush the Sixth Demon God on Archdemon territory.
Beyond that, she remained a mystery.
She had no cults.
No notable demon creatures under her command.
She didn’t cultivate followers, nor did she antagonize humanity.
Her only request was that humanity’s potential Supreme Beings and Supreme Beings leave her alone.
Few knew that this demon god had been crafting SSS-level equipment for every generation of humanity’s potential Supreme Beings.
And she had been doing so for three hundred years.
The other demon gods, if they knew, chose to remain silent.
Now, back in the Thirteenth Abyss, she waited.
Waited for the Tower of Truth to change.
Waited for that one opportunity, the most critical moment.
Tower of Truth, Ninety-Ninth Floor.
Mike didn’t immediately begin his climb.
Instead, he stayed on the ninety-ninth floor, poring over some interesting documents.
As a Supreme Being, he now had access to all records.
After finishing the documents, he set them aside and lay down, staring into space, lost in thought.
Floating in front of him was a Truth Core crystal, which chattered incessantly:
“Thor, why aren’t you reclaiming the Tower yet?”
“Supreme Being Thor, have you forgotten humanity’s greatest wish?”
“SSSS-level conquer rating! Limited-time offer! Clear 50 floors, get 50 floors free!”
Annoyed by the noise, Mike rolled his eyes and muttered,
“Idiot, shut up!”
