Chapter 65: Abaddon, The Angel Of The Abyss
The Hall of Radiance looked as magnificent as always, with its heavenly carvings and glowing candles giving it this divine feeling.
Arkanos walked towards the altar, the priests and priestesses lined the chamber, with a look of awe and anticipation on their faces.
“Another miracle,” a priest murmured, his voice barely audible.
“The emperor graces us again,” another priestess saj, clutching her hands in prayer.
Arkanos placed his right hand on the altar, he closed his eyes, focusing his thoughts.
‘System.’
‘open the Gacha Pool.’
The interface materialized in his vision.

‘SSS.’
The system acknowledged his choice, and the light surrounding the altar grew brighter. The temperature in the Hall of Radiance seemed to drop, and tye air began to vibrate.
〘 ⋄ System Notification ⋄ 〙
〘 ⋄ Processing SSS Rank Arcane Knight Summon… ⋄ 〙
The priests and priestesses exchanged nervous glances, unsure whether to step back or remain in place.
Above the altar, a vortex of light began to form, swirling with hues of blue, silver, and gold. Arcane symbols whirled within the vortex, spinning and weaving into patterns. The light illuminated Arkanos’ calm expression.
The air in the Hall of Radiance became electric as the swirling vortex above the altar reached its peak.
Blinding light emanated from its core, bathing the grand chamber in its brilliance.
The priests and priestesses instinctively shielded their eyes, the sheer energy forcing them to step back.
A low hum, deep and resonant, reverberated throughout the hall, shaking the very foundations of the sacred ground.
Suddenly, the vortex began to descend, its radiant spirals collapsing inward as it flew toward the altar.
With a final flash of blinding light, it dissipated, leaving behind silence.
Arkanos’s breathing was steady, but his mind raced. Then, a notification from the system appeared beside him.
〘 ⋄ System Notification: The gods are watching your actions with skepticism. ⋄ 〙
Arkanos frowned slightly at the notification.
‘The gods? Skeptical of me?’ he thought, the notion faintly unnerving.
Before he could delve further into his thoughts, the system flashed another message.
〘 ⋄ Congratulations! You have successfully summoned a hero under the “Dark Series.” ⋄ 〙
His thoughts stumbled over the phrase.
‘What!?’
Arkanos exclaimed inwardly.
〘 ⋄ Explanation: Heroes under the Dark Series are rare, exceptional beings wielding immense power born of destruction and chaos. They are shrouded in myth and fear, revered by some and abhorred by others. Summoning one entails significant risk, as their allegiance is determined not by blind loyalty, but by respect and their own enigmatic motives. ⋄ 〙
‘I already knew that… Shit!’ Arkanos thought, his hand resting on the hilt of his holy sword that was beside him.
Heroes of the Dark Series were beings of legend… Be Basically fallen mythical creatures, their tales painted with both glory and blood.
The vortex’s light fully dissipated now, leaving behind a dim glow on the altar. The air crackled one last time, and from the center of the altar, a figure began to take form.
First, six massive, jet-black wings unfurled with a thunderous rustle, their span so vast they almost grazed the chamber walls. Black feathers rained downward like snow, each one shimmering faintly as it floated to the ground.
Gasps filled the Hall. The head priestess clutched her pendant tightly, her face pale with shock, while the knight-captain took a step back, her hand instinctively reaching for her sword. Arkanos’s eyes widened as he gazed at the figure that now stood before him.
〘 ⋄ System Notification: You have summoned Abaddon, the Angel of the Abyss. ⋄ 〙
Abaddon stood tall, his aura of darkness radiating off him. His armor was a combination of black and white, interwoven with silver runes. The black segments shimmered like polished onyx, while the white glowed faintly, as though light and shadow waged a delicate war across its surface.
By his sides were two swords, one pure black with a jagged, cruel edge, and the other pristine white, radiating a faint glow of purity.
Abaddon’s face was chiseled and flawless, his expression calm yet unreadable. He had long blood red hair, His eyes, however, were a swirling storm of silver and black, as though they contained the abyss itself. He turned his gaze to Arkanos, and a small, almost imperceptible smirk spreading at the corner of his lips.
The silence in the Hall was deafening.
Arkanos’s voice finally broke through, laced with both awe and trepidation. “Abaddon… the Angel of the Abyss.”
The summoned hero inclined his head slightly, his voice deep as he finally spoke.
“You have called, Emperor. I have come. Let us see if your will matches your ambition.”
Suddenly a system window appeared in Arkanos’s vision.

Summon bio:
Abaddon was once a revered Angel, serving under the God of War in the celestial realms. His wings were a symbol of divine might, and his blade, an instrument of divine justice. However, in his insatiable pursuit of strength and glory, Abaddon became entangled in the darkness of war.
His noble heart turned cold, and he began committing atrocities, slaughtering entire civilizations in the name of entertainment. His fall from grace was swift, and the gods cast him down, stripping him of his celestial status and leaving him with nothing but a void of purpose.
For centuries, Abaddon wandered in this emptiness, a shadow of his former self. But fate intervened when Emperor Arkanos Bloodbane approached him with an offer—a chance for redemption. Arkanos promised him a purpose, a new path forged from strength and ambition. Abaddon, seeing the potential in the emperor’s goals, agreed to follow him, but only if Arkanos’s ambitions proved worthy of his service. Thus, the Angel of the Abyss became a harbinger of destruction, bound by respect and his quest for purpose.
_______
As Arkanos read the bio of Abaddon, his thoughts raced. He had never imagined he would encounter one of these Dark Series heroes this early.
A being like Abaddon, once an angel in service to a god of war, was unlikely to be swayed by something as small as an emperor’s ambitions to make his empire great. No, Arkanos realized, if he was to command the loyalty of such a being, he needed to show his resolve and dream even bigger.
Arkanos’s mind then flashed to a promise made by another hero… Sylvana, in her bio it said he had spoken of uniting the world.
As Arkanos thought about it, Abaddon leaned in, his cold, abyssal eyes locking onto the emperor’s, impatience practically radiating from him.
“What’s taking you so long?” Abaddon’s voice was like a low growl. “You promised the next time we met, you’d prove your resolve, the depth of your greed and ambitions. What are you waiting for?”
Arkanos’s green eyes glinted brightly with his mana as he locked eyes with Abaddon. “First off,” he said, his tone sharp and intense.
“If you are going to serve under me, you’re going to have to learn how to present yourself.”
Abaddon’s brows furrowed. His anger flared. “What!?” he snapped. “Are you trying to say I should—”
“Yes. Exactly,” Arkanos interrupted, his voice firm. Without warning, he placed his hand on Abaddon’s shoulder, a smirk appearing on his face as he said.
“Kneel.”
A surge of power erupted from Arkanos as he suddenly forced Abaddon to his knees with an earth-shattering
BOOM.
The force of the impact sent shockwaves through the chamber, and the sound echoed like thunder.
