Chapter 809: Chapter 809 – Words Won’t Work
How did the situation suddenly escalate like this, damn it.
Broken hadn’t made any aggressive moves. He stood in the middle of the encirclement, his weapons still untouched.
This scenario… he had already considered the possibility of being caught. But it had happened too fast.
Still—at least he had managed to gather some valuable information before this. He had learned about the dragonkin’s current situation, their problems, and their position in this whole conflict.
Then, the dragonkin began speaking amongst themselves.
“How did someone get in here?”
“Has the barrier weakened that much?”
“No, impossible. Only someone at level 300 or higher could enter.”
“Even then, he shouldn’t have been able to make it through. He’s just a player.”
They think I’m level 300?
Broken kept his expression unreadable.
This was something he could use. If they truly believed he had the power to bypass the barrier, he could play into that misunderstanding—because if it really came down to a fight, he wasn’t sure he could make it out of here alive.
And honestly… he had no real desire for an all-out battle with them anyway.
After seeing what the dragonkin had already been through, he understood.
There were non-combatants here. Even children.
They had already suffered a massacre once before—that’s why they had isolated themselves like this.
And that was exactly why he wasn’t going to be the one to bring them another war.
“State your purpose for coming here. Who are you?”
“There’s no need to drag this out. Let’s just kill him like we did the other players.”
“We can’t. He already knows about this place. He’s seen our secrets. If we kill him, he’ll just come back—he’s a player.”
The dragonkin were arguing among themselves.
Broken remained silent, letting them debate for now. This was his chance—to find the right moment to interject and steer the conversation in his favor.
But what should he say first?
Some of the dragonkin descended to the ground, weapons drawn, their sharp tips pointed directly at him.
Pawpaw, still perched on his shoulder, whispered, “Should we kill them?”
Before Broken could respond, one of the dragonkin suddenly shouted in hysteria.
“He has a demon with him! He’s an ally of the demons!”
Tch. This was getting worse.
Broken exhaled slowly, keeping his composure.
“Pawpaw, go for now. I’ll handle this.”

Without hesitation, Pawpaw let out a yawn—then vanished into thin air.
“Who are you? State your purpose here!” They barked at him once again.
Broken remained silent for a moment, carefully choosing his words. He needed to say this in the most precise way possible.
“I’m here to find the Dragon Princess.”
The moment those words left his mouth, the dragonkin exchanged glances.
Of course, they could easily misinterpret his intentions. They might think he was a messenger from the High Elf Queen.
“He’s a servant of the High Elves! This is war!” One of them shouted.
Broken held his ground. His voice remained calm, steady.
“I’m a friend of the Dragon Princess. Let me explain first—you can confirm the truth of my words yourselves. I’m not here to cause harm or chaos.”
“We can’t trust him. He’s a player.” One of them sneered.
Broken exhaled.
“I knew how to enter this place—that alone should prove I deserve a chance to explain. I am a friend of the Dragon Princess. I’m looking for her because she left, and I believe she came here. She once showed me a bracelet… a bracelet that pointed to this place.”
“What proof do you have that your words can be trusted?!”
Broken simply lifted a hand and pointed above his head—at his name.
“I don’t know if you keep up with what happens outside, but I, alongside Ivana—the Dragon Princess—was the one who defended Dissidia Kingdom from Duke Focalor, the Named Demon ranked 34!”
A murmur spread through the gathered dragonkin. Some exchanged uncertain glances.
“I’ve heard of that… Dissidia Kingdom in the South Continent was attacked by demons, and a major player guild played a key role in stopping the invasion.”
Another dragonkin snapped back at him.
“Don’t tell me you’re from that guild?”
Broken remained calm as he gave his answer.
“I am Broken, leader of the Vensalor Guild… and the King Consort of Dissidia Kingdom.”
Hearing Broken’s explanation, the dragonkin once again exchanged glances—especially among the army. But the five dragonkin who appeared to be their leaders remained silent, their expressions unreadable.
It was clear. They weren’t convinced.
Even with everything he had just told them, it wasn’t enough to earn their trust or improve his position in this situation.
Damn it.
Did every problem in this world have to be solved through sheer force?
One of the dragonkin finally spoke, his tone cold and final.
“We have no ties to the Dragon Princess. If you believe she came here, you’re gravely mistaken. We live here, free from the outside world. And you have disturbed that peace.”
Broken exhaled slowly. “I can understand that.”
“If you understand, then it’s better for you to die here—so you never show yourself again.”
If Broken chose to believe their words, then logically, he had no reason to stay here any longer.
But could he really trust that they knew nothing about Ivana’s whereabouts?
Or… were they deliberately hiding the truth because they didn’t want it to be uncovered?
Regardless, one thing was clear—leaving peacefully was not an option.
First, he couldn’t exit the barrier directly. The only way out was to slip into the Moonlight Dimension and return to Dissidia Kingdom.
And second… if this situation escalated into a fight, he was still reluctant to cause unnecessary casualties among the dragonkin.
They weren’t attacking him out of pure hostility. They were defending their home—protecting what little peace they had left. From their perspective, he was the intruder.
And no matter what, Broken still believed that at least some of them had ties to the dragonkin of the past.
If that was true… then somewhere among them, there had to be those who still remembered Ivana.
Or at the very least—had a reason to care about her.
“Enough talk. Kill him now.”
Even after Broken had stated clear facts—that he was part of the team that defeated a Named Demon and that he was the King Consort of Dissidia Kingdom—the dragonkin showed no hesitation.
Not even a flicker of doubt.
They were confident—in their strength, in their defenses, in their home. Their response made that crystal clear.
At the same time, they had already begun preparing to strike.
And while Broken wouldn’t be easily defeated, he knew that if he fought back seriously, he would end up killing many low-level dragonkin.
Damn it.
With a sharp motion, he summoned the Abyssal Wavebreaker Spear.
He had tried talking. He had tried reasoning.
But he wasn’t the type to beg for mercy—or to plead for understanding.
“Let me make one thing clear.” His voice was firm, unwavering. “I can fight. I can die and come back. But the dragonkin here— they won’t.”
This was his final warning.
“That is—if you can even land a hit on me.” One of the dragonkin sneered. “You’re outnumbered. You’re outmatched. You’re nothing here.”
Broken exhaled slowly.
Fine.
Activating every defensive skill in his arsenal, he braced himself—preparing to unleash massive AOE attacks from his spear.
