Chapter 810: Chapter 810 – A Tribe’s Sacrifice
Broken had already activated all of his defensive skills, and Pawpaw had reappeared on his shoulder.
They were both ready.
This was about to become a full-scale battle.
No matter how hard Broken had tried to avoid fighting, the dragonkin had left him no choice. They weren’t willing to settle this peacefully.
This fight was unavoidable.
With a swift motion, Broken equipped the Abyssal Crown and Flowing Tide Cape.
[Water Domain (Conditional Active Skill) activated.]
The cape flowed like liquid, releasing a surge of water that expanded into a domain, swallowing the dragonkin closest to him.
Their instincts kicked in— they immediately flew back, trying to put distance between themselves and the domain.
They weren’t reckless. They were strong, but they weren’t underestimating him.
They knew Broken was a melee fighter, so they were smartly shifting to long-range attacks to suppress him.
Not bad.
Even though they were powerful, they weren’t just charging in blindly—they were using their numbers and his disadvantages against him.
But Broken wasn’t just a close-range fighter. He had plenty of massive area attacks.
“Attack with everything you’ve got! Overwhelm him—full power, long-range barrage!” one of the dragonkin commanders ordered.
Broken spun his spear, preparing to counter.
Until—
“STOP THE ATTACK!”
A booming voice echoed from the distance.
Who was that?
Broken immediately scanned the area, searching for the source.
From one direction, the dragonkin army turned their heads.
And then, someone flew closer. A dragonkin— noticeably older than the others. His presence alone seemed to command instant respect. His name was Zephero.
One of the dragonkin turned toward him, speaking urgently.
“Elder Wing! He infiltrated our home—he knows too much. We can’t let him live!”
Zephero landed on the ground, folding his wings, his gaze steady.
The other dragonkin hesitated, but slowly, they began lowering their weapons.
Zephero said. “This player was able to enter our barrier. That alone means he’s no ordinary intruder. Let me speak with him for a moment.”
“But Elder Wing, he’s too strong! He’s a threat to all of us!”
The elder dragonkin’s eyes narrowed.

“From what I see… you didn’t even give him the chance to speak.”
The elder dragonkin now stood close—even stepping into Broken’s Water Domain without hesitation.
Broken didn’t lower his guard. Not yet. He hadn’t deactivated his skill.
“You came here looking for the Dragon Princess?” the elder dragonkin—Zephero—asked.
Broken met his gaze, his voice firm.
“I suspected she came here. And yes, I am her ally. I’ve known her since before she even realized she was the Dragon Princess—back when she was still living among humans, raised by the ones who took her in as a child in Deadbay City, within Dissidia Kingdom.”
He paused, then continued.
“It wasn’t until the great war—when Dissidia Kingdom was attacked by demons—that her true self was revealed. That war… six Named Demons were involved.”
Zephero nodded slowly.
“I have heard that story. In truth, we were both directly and indirectly affected by those events.”
Broken noted the change in tone. The elder dragonkin wasn’t hostile. Seeing this, Broken finally deactivated his Water Domain and dismissed his weapon.
Zephero sighed, folding his arms.
“Forgive us for acting too late. I know you trespassed into our home, and that is not a welcome action for a guest… but I also understand why you came. We are a protective people—perhaps too much so.”
His gaze steadied on Broken.
“Let’s talk properly. Let’s get to know each other first.”

Finally…
At least the escalation had been avoided.
A fight wasn’t necessary.
Because at least one dragonkin among them had the clarity to think rationally.
Though, to be fair, the elder dragonkin’s response was almost too welcoming, while the rest were far from friendly.
Well…
In the end, Broken was invited inside the mini-castle standing at the peak—a rare chance to speak directly with the elder.
The interior was open and spacious, with seating made entirely of solid stone.
Why?
Why did they choose to sit on such uncomfortable-looking rock chairs?
Broken took a seat, now facing Zephero—the Elder Wing, as the others had called him.
Was he their leader?
Zephero introduced himself, explaining that he was one of the elders of their tribe. While they had no official leader, he was someone the others looked up to.
It sounded strange, honestly. But seeing how the other dragonkin respected his words, it was safe to say that—unofficially—he was their leader.
In return, Broken shared his own background once more—King Consort of Dissidia Kingdom, husband of the current ruler, Queen Alora.
Zephero listened carefully, then spoke.
“I was there…” he said, his voice carrying the weight of old memories. “I was there when the High Elf Queen’s forces came and attacked our tribe… It all started because our leader at the time chose to protect the Dragon Princess’s egg. She was born here, in this very place.”
Broken froze for a second.
Ivana had been saved by the dragonkin even before she was born?
Even when she was still an egg?
Zephero continued, his expression softening slightly.
“The Dragon Princess was a kind girl. She greeted everyone she met and cared deeply about even the smallest problems around her. She was our source of joy—playing with the children, laughing, and even showing interest in learning how to cook when she was little.”
Broken listened intently. The way Ivana’s journey began—it was both unexpected and fascinating.
But the real question was…
“At that time, did you know she was the Dragon Princess? And did she herself know?”
The Elder Wing responded without hesitation.
“Only the tribe leader knew the truth at first. Even the Dragon Princess herself was unaware of her own origins.”
Broken tilted his head slightly.
So Ivana didn’t know about her true identity from childhood?
Zephero continued, his voice carrying a new weight.
“The raid came from the High Elf Queen.”
His tone sharpened, emphasizing every word.
“Five massive dragons, alongside the High Elf warriors, attacked and burned our tribe to the ground.”
His voice slowed, as if every word he spoke carried the burden of the past.
“And that… was the moment most of us learned the real truth behind the slaughter.”
Broken frowned slightly.
Something felt off.
This massacre—this tragedy—felt like it happened too long ago, far beyond what would align with Ivana’s current age.
Unless…
Could it be that Ivana’s real age was much older than she appeared?
“Most of us couldn’t defend ourselves against the attack. The children, the younger ones… they were slaughtered effortlessly by just five massive dragons. While the High Elf warriors descended from the skies, striking from above and below, killing swiftly—giving us no chance to fight back.”
Broken stayed silent, letting the Elder Wing finish his story.
But one question weighed on his mind.
“What about the Dragon Princess?”
Zephero lifted his gaze, his eyes locking onto Broken’s.
“She was saved… by the Sloth Champion.”
Wait—
“The Sloth Champion? Are you talking about King Elandorr? The past king of Dissidia Kingdom?”
Zephero nodded.
“There is no other Sloth Champion besides him. Yes, that King came and took the Dragon Princess away, while the rest of us were left behind—to be destroyed by the attack that nearly wiped us out completely.”
