Chapter 814: Chapter 814 – Molten Chaos
[Legendary-grade Fragment of the Abyssal Demon: Marquis Sabnock Lv. 280]
Honestly, this was exactly as expected. The monster Broken was facing this time was a Legendary-grade. Even though its level didn’t seem overwhelmingly high—comparable to some of the dragonkin in this raid—the fact that it was a raid monster made it exponentially stronger than a normal one. And on top of that, this was the first Legendary-grade raid monster Broken had ever attempted to fight.
The moment a massive surge of water, as if from the ocean itself, crashed down onto the lava pool dominating the area, the demon hand instantly reacted with fury. It clenched its palm tightly, seething with rage, and right after that, lava erupted from multiple spots, creating a massive tornado of molten fire within the cavern chamber.
Five towering tornadoes of lava spiraled violently around the demon hand, forming massive pillars that extended its attack range. Even before the attackers could get close, the sheer force of the tornadoes began pulling everything within the cave toward them.
However, the dragonkin seemed unfazed by the threat. They swiftly soared through the air, dodging with incredible speed before striking the demon hand and retreating again. Their attacks played out like insects avoiding a swatting hand—swift, precise, and always landing a hit before pulling back to avoid retaliation.
They were fearless. Even though death here wouldn’t just mean defeat—it would mean the end, for real.
Broken immediately activated his water domain. Though the area it covered wasn’t too large, he had to stay close enough to the monster for the water element to have any real effect on it. And yes, that meant he would be acting as a semi-tanker here, constantly positioned at the very front, dodging the magical attacks that the demon hand seemed capable of unleashing.
He dashed forward, weaving through the raging lava tornadoes, and the moment his domain fully enveloped the demon hand, he activated all his defensive skills. At the same time, he had to focus on avoiding the demon’s attacks while maintaining his position as the dragonkin launched their strikes against the monster.
It was anything but easy—damn, even with four dragonkin fully dedicated to tanking, continuously pressing the demon hand from four different angles in a coordinated effort, Broken still had to do the same. That was the only way he could keep his water domain active, ensuring it remained locked onto the demon hand.
And this raid monster… it had an absurd variety of attacks. Just as the massive pillar-like tornadoes kept sweeping through the battlefield, the enormous hand suddenly began slamming its palm down repeatedly in different directions, sending massive waves of molten lava crashing against every surface within the cavern.
Just imagine fighting this thing without the ability to fly—it would be a guaranteed death sentence. This wasn’t an opponent that could be taken down easily.
Only in moments like this did Broken truly realize that he needed a powerful shield!
He had never really thought of himself as someone who would need one. But if he had to stand on the frontline, unable to do much besides endure attacks, then he definitely needed a shield.
He had already made up his mind—his next masterpiece would be a shield! He needed it, especially since he still wasn’t truly versatile. If he wanted to be a real tanker, someone who could take massive damage and hold the line while the rest of his team launched their attacks, then a shield was essential.
Thankfully, Broken had received a level boost from SexyGrill’s blessing, allowing him to keep up with the sheer damage output of the demon hand—even though it was overwhelming.
He had also summoned Gaia, who hovered not far from him. While she couldn’t take direct damage—since she didn’t have a physical, damageable form—her healing abilities were more than enough to help Broken sustain himself in this intense raid.
At this point, the only summon Broken could bring out was the Elder Abyss Dragon Tree—simply because it was the only one that could fly. Any of his other Gaia Beasts would be instantly annihilated if summoned into this kind of environment.
And to make things even worse, the real challenge wasn’t just the raid monster itself—it was the dragonkin army fighting alongside him. They were all… melee fighters! Like, seriously? Why? Why was there not a single archer or mage among them?
Seriously, dragonkin? Had they been isolated from the outside world for so long that they had no clue how a proper team composition was supposed to work?
Not even a healer. Well, technically, they did have healers—but their levels were too low. Instead of contributing to the battle, those healers would just become liabilities if they joined the fight.
No buffers. No support units. Every single one of them was a melee fighter, wielding either spears or greatswords. And yeah… most of them were spear users!
This whole setup was making Broken seriously stressed out.
To make things even worse, this Legendary-grade monster was an absolute pain in the ass for close-range fighters! Its skills dealt massive amounts of magic damage in the area surrounding its hand, making it a nightmare for melee combatants.
And as if the towering tornado pillars weren’t enough, the massive demon hand was now playing with the lava pool—scooping up chunks of molten rock and hurling them randomly at the “insects” attacking it from every direction.
It didn’t take long before the dragonkin began feeling the consequences of this terrible raid team setup.
Some of them suffered severe burns, their bodies scorched by the intense heat. Even though they kept attacking and dodging, their movements were no longer as swift as before. Still, they pushed forward—until disaster struck.
A massive splash of lava erupted, crashing down on a group of dragonkin. Two of them lost their balance instantly, spiraling out of control before plunging straight into the lava pool.
Broken let out a deep breath. There it is… the first casualties among the dragonkin.
Another fighter was hit directly, nearly getting sucked into one of the raging lava tornadoes—until SexyBloom dashed in, moving at lightning speed to grab him just in time.
His lower body was severely burned, the damage brutal. But SexyBloom wasted no time, quickly pulling him away and carrying him to a safer place.

“King Broken! We fight on! We will not falter!” Zephero, the Elder Wing, roared as he zipped between the demon’s massive fingers, his greatsword slicing through the air in wide arcs. Each strike landed with force, carving into the demon hand before crashing against the surface of the lava pool.
None of them wavered. Not even for a second. The dragonkin remained completely focused, undeterred by the loss of three of their comrades.
But… was this battle truly worth it? Were they simply throwing their lives away in a fight that was leading them toward an inevitable death?
The demon hand seemed to be growing even more enraged. Instead of casually splashing molten lava in every direction like before, its massive fingers curled tightly into a fist. And as if all the devastating magic attacks it had already unleashed weren’t enough…
Molten lava from the pool surged toward its clenched hand, flowing like liquid metal, spiraling upward until it solidified into a massive lava sword gripped tightly in its grasp.
Damn.
