Chapter 871: Chapter 871 – The Dome Shatters
The cracks on the dome spread rapidly. Within the barrier, tremors rocked the ground—coral spires shaking, buildings crumbling, and panicked merfolk scattering in all directions.
Queen Nerisa surged forward once more, trying to intercept the Named Demon before he could do more damage.
But the nightmare unfolded faster than anyone could stop it.
With a final shattering echo, the dome—once thought impenetrable—broke.
A low, grinding sound tore through the water as massive chunks of magical barrier fragmented and collapsed into nothingness.
Broken clenched his jaw hard, eyes wide. “Damn it… this is bad.”
With the dome gone, the entire Oceanic Kingdom was exposed!
And with that, so was his only hope of hatching the Abyssal Naga Egg. Without Queen Nerisa’s help, without this place intact… he would lose everything tied to that egg.
He couldn’t afford that.
The demon forces reacted instantly, as if waiting for this exact moment. They surged forward, closing the distance toward the kingdom like a black tide, taking advantage of the opening with brutal precision. Their goal was clear—wipe the kingdom out entirely.
But then—something happened.
It was sudden, almost surreal.
The coral scattered across the outer rim of the kingdom began to move. It wasn’t drifting. It was rushing. Pieces of coral, large and small, twisted and spun through the water, carried by an unseen force, coming together rapidly—too rapidly.
They began assembling, reshaping, and forming a new structure. A second dome. Reinforcement.
But it wasn’t finished yet.
Demons were already breaching the gap, and merfolk warriors scrambled forward, blades in hand, trying to intercept and hold the line until the barrier could reform.
Broken saw his chance—and didn’t hesitate.
With one powerful kick, he swam through the gap, squeezing past the closing structure of the forming dome. If it was sealed now, he’d be trapped inside, useless.
No. He had a stake in this war.
He had to fight.
[You have acquired a Movement Ability – Aquatic Maneuvering Lv.10]
[You can now move more efficiently in water. Swim speed and agility increased by 40%.]
The notification blinked into view just as Broken dove fully back into open waters. Instantly, he could feel the change—his limbs moved more fluidly, his kicks pushed him farther with less effort. He cut through the ocean with ease, weaving between coral fragments and drifting warriors.
“Tch… if she could’ve given me this skill from the start, why wait until now?” he muttered.
No time to complain.
He took out his Abyssal Spear and launched forward to join the frontline, his presence now alongside the merfolk warriors as they fought tooth and fin to hold off the wave of demons.
[🌪️ Abyssal Cascade – Torrent of Destruction (Active Skill) activated]
[🐗 Abyssal Tideboar – Herald of the Storm (Active Skill) activated]
[⚔️ Abyssal Spear – Piercing Spear of the Abyss (Active Skill) activated]
Magic surged through him. Water twisted violently as the Cascade burst outward, sending a spiraling surge of destruction into the heart of the demon horde. The summoned Tideboar, a beast of water and fury, tore through the battlefield like a charging beast, smashing everything in its path.

Broken struck with precision, diving and twisting, his spear plunging into demon after demon. The underwater battlefield erupted into chaos.
[Soul Points: 532 / 1,000]
The number continued to climb.
He didn’t know how many demons had fallen to his hand—but each soul added weight to his power. He was getting close. If he could push just a bit further, he’d have enough for a single, devastating Soul Blast—maybe enough to wound or even cripple the Named Demon.
He kept his eyes on the battle between Queen Nerisa and Haagenti. The Queen was still fighting, still holding him back—but the cracks were starting to show. Her magic was powerful, but even she couldn’t keep this up forever. No one could.
The other merfolk couldn’t intervene—the power gap was too great. They’d be slaughtered instantly.
Broken’s grip tightened around his spear.
He had to do something.
Broken could see it clearly now—Queen Nerisa was faltering.
Her spells were slower, her movements less sharp. She was still holding her ground, but the cracks were there. Haagenti’s relentless assault was wearing her down. If she fell… the Oceanic Kingdom would crumble with her.
He couldn’t let that happen.
Broken quickly pulled away from the frontline, propelling himself with his newfound agility. He reached for the Golden Bow of Artemis once more, the weapon materializing in his hands.
The moment he drew the bow, the Named Demon turned.
Its eyes locked onto him.
“You foolish human!” Haagenti’s voice boomed like thunder through the water. “I will kill you for this!”
Broken didn’t flinch.
He drew the arrow, steady, and fired.
The arrows streaked through the water like bolts of light, slamming into Haagenti one after another. Explosions erupted across the demon’s scaled body, sending shockwaves rippling outward.
But Broken knew—this wasn’t enough.
He could hurt the demon, yes. But not stop it.
Not with what he had right now.
His heart pounded as he loosed another arrow, the bow trembling in his grip. The pressure of the battle, the stakes, the weight of everything—Queen Nerisa, the kingdom, the Abyssal Naga Egg—it all pressed down on him.
He needed more power.
More than this.
Not like this.
He had no other choice. If he held back now, he’d lose everything.
[Summon Golden Paragon (Conditional Active Skill) activated]
A surge of golden light burst behind him, radiating outward like a beacon in the depths. An avatar formed—a towering figure in gleaming gold, cloaked in shadowy black armor, its form regal and ominous. Its presence alone turned heads. Even the surrounding demons halted for a split second, drawn to its divine aura.
The Named Demon snarled, his fury boiling over at the sight.
“You dare summon that?” Haagenti bellowed. “You will suffer!”
Let him be mad. This was Broken’s last bet.
Just then, a rush of motion swept beside him—Queen Nerisa. She floated at his side, her presence steady. But for once, she didn’t speak.
“You better pay me well, Queen,” Broken muttered.
Nerisa glanced at him, her usually stone-cold face tight with strain. Then, unexpectedly, a faint smile curved on her lips.
“This is humiliating for us,” she said softly. “A guest doing this much…”
“Which sounds worse?” Broken replied, voice low. “Being humiliated… or being destroyed?”
“Neither,” she said. “But… Thank you. I accept the gesture.”
Not exactly poetic, but hey—at least now she could actually say thank you.
Progress.
Queen Nerisa’s voice cut through the tension beside him. “What’s the plan?”
“I’ll hold him off up close,” Broken replied without hesitation. “You hit him from a distance. No mercy.”
“Sounds like a good plan,” she answered.
Broken allowed himself a thin, dangerous smile. Truthfully, there was no plan beyond hitting hard until it stops moving. But if that worked, it worked.
He spun the spear once, letting the energy charge at its tip.
“Better finish this fast,” he muttered.
And he meant it. His Golden Paragon wouldn’t last forever—when it wore off, he’d be back to regular power. And against a Named Demon, that would mean death. They had one window. One shot.
Kill Haagenti before he escapes—or worse, kills them first.
From across the battlefield, the Named Demon let out a thunderous roar, a violent pulse of energy exploding around him.
He charged.
Broken clenched his jaw, bracing himself as he surged forward to meet him head-on.
Two forces—one of burning rage, the other of unyielding resolve—rushed through the depths, spears raised, eyes locked.
They were about to collide.
