Chapter 340: Heroine in Vardant Labyrinth
The air was thick with the scent of flowers and the rustling of unseen creatures in the dense undergrowth. The Verdant Labyrinth stood before them, an endless expanse of towering trees, twisting vines, and flowering plants that seemed to hum with life. Aurelia had dropped them off at the entrance, telling them to have fun while she went off to “gather some personal supplies” or whatever she called it.
“Alright, everyone!” Aurelia had shouted, waving as she marched off. “This is it! The great Verdant Labyrinth! Be careful, don’t eat anything weird, and don’t trust any talking trees! I’ll meet you on the other side—whenever that is.”
And with that, she vanished into the wilderness, leaving Maris, Lucan, Virnda, Nyx, and Bing standing at the entrance, staring at the thick, leafy expanse in front of them.
“I’m not even sure I want to go in there…” Bing muttered, glancing nervously at the dense foliage. “Are there, uh… snacks in there? I hope there’s food.”
“I just hope we don’t run into any aggressive flowers,” Nyx smirked. “I’m in the mood for something fun. Maybe a plant monster or two. Gotta keep it interesting, right?”
Lucan, standing with his arms crossed, squinted into the labyrinth. “I don’t even know what we’re supposed to do here,” he said, sounding a little irritated. “Aurelia didn’t explain anything.”
Virnda tilted her head. “Maybe the Elder will give us some clues. Or maybe we’re just supposed to… wander around until we find something.” Her voice was casual, but there was a flicker of excitement in her eyes. I’m going to find the Heart of the Verdant Labyrinth. Vrinda thought. From the game she play, she knew that, Heart of Verdant Labyrinth was power weapon. If she get it then she didn’t have to worry even if she make a Warload Class III her enemy.
Maris, who had been silently listening to the group, looked around. The trees seemed to be closing in on them, and the feeling of being watched didn’t help. “I just… I need to stay with Lucan-sama,” she whispered, barely loud enough for anyone to hear.
Lucan gave her a sidelong glance, but before he could respond, the labyrinth seemed to shift around them. One second, they were all standing together, the next… they were completely alone.
The path had split in several directions, and the dense foliage surrounded them on all sides, leaving no trace of the others. It was like the labyrinth had swallowed them whole.

Maris’ POV
Maris stumbled as she looked around, her heart racing. She had no idea where Lucan had gone. Where is he? She thought.
She started walking, hoping to find some sign of him. She had to.
But the deeper she went, the more the trees seemed to change. The branches twisted in odd ways, and she couldn’t tell if she was walking in circles or heading in a straight line.
“This is ridiculous,” Maris muttered, her patience wearing thin. “I don’t even know where I’m going…”
A particularly large vine slithered across her path, and she jumped, her hand instinctively reaching for the hilt of her sword. Great, she thought, first I get lost, then I get attacked by plants.
She sighed. “This is just great…”

Lucan’s POV
Lucan had no time to worry about what had happened to everyone else. The maze, or whatever this place was, had already started testing him. His goal was to understand this world more, and if he was going to get anywhere, he needed to think like a real adventurer.
He pushed through the thick underbrush, studying his surroundings. The plants were alive, more alive than any normal plants. Some of them shifted when he wasn’t looking, and others seemed to pulse with a faint glow. What was it all for?
“What is this place?” Lucan muttered. “I’m starting to think this is less about survival and more about weirdness.”
As he walked deeper, he stepped into a clearing where a giant flower bloomed. It had petals that shimmered with gold and purple hues, and its smell was strangely intoxicating.
Lucan narrowed his eyes. Is this the test?
He reached out to touch it, but the moment his fingers brushed against one of the petals, the flower snapped its petals shut, trapping his hand.
“Hey! Let go!” Lucan yanked his hand back, but the flower held tight. It was like a trap.
“I knew it,” he grumbled. “This is going to be a long day.”

Virnda’s POV

Virnda, meanwhile, was thrilled by the maze’s unpredictability. She wasn’t worried about getting lost—this was a challenge, after all. Her goal was simple: Find the Heart of the Verdant Labyrinth.
As she walked through the twisting paths, she came across an ancient stone obelisk standing in the middle of a small grove. It was covered in strange markings, some of which glowed faintly.
“This might be it…” Virnda whispered to herself, walking closer. She reached out to touch one of the symbols when suddenly, a gigantic vine shot out from the ground, wrapping itself around her wrist.
“Seriously? What is it with this place and vines?” Virnda groaned, pulling at the vine, but it only tightened. The more she struggled, the more the vine seemed to enjoy her resistance.

Nyx’s POV
Meanwhile, Nyx was having the time of her life. She wasn’t lost—she was exploring. And exploring meant fun.
She skipped down a winding path, humming to herself. She wasn’t sure where the others were, and frankly, she didn’t care. This labyrinth was full of fun things to do, like hiding in trees and watching plants try to eat each other.
She came across a clearing where a giant mushroom stood tall, its cap big enough to shelter a small army. The mushroom wasn’t moving, but it looked like it was waiting for something.
“Perfect,” Nyx said, eyeing it suspiciously. “Let’s see what happens if I jump on it.”
And with that, she leaped onto the mushroom. The second her feet landed on the cap, it exploded into a cloud of spores, sending her into a coughing fit.
“Maybe… not a great idea,” Nyx muttered, her eyes watering from the spores. “But hey, at least it wasn’t boring.”

Bing’s POV
Finally, Bing was… well, Bing was just hungry.
“Food,” she muttered to himself, glancing around. She had wandered off the main path and was now in some kind of clearing filled with brightly colored fruits hanging from low-hanging branches. The fruits looked delicious, but Bing wasn’t stupid.
She poked one of them with a stick, then kicked it, watching it roll away.
“No way I’m trusting anything in this place,” she said with a huff, walking deeper into the labyrinth, in search of something a little less… alive.

The Elder’s POV
Meanwhile, deep within the labyrinth, hidden from the others, the Elder who watched over the trials smiled to himself. Everything was going according to plan. Each of them was being led down their own path, unknowingly separated by the labyrinth’s trials.
The Elder chuckled softly, watching them from afar. “Let the games begin.”
