Chapter 356: Heroine and Her Gang Having Fun I
Maris, Lucan, and Bing strolled through the bustling streets of the plant city. The energy of the place was infectious—plant beings bartered fruits, flowers, and other natural goods with an enthusiasm that almost felt human.
“This is a lively place,” Lucan said, observing a pair of plant beings passionately debating over a particularly large glowing fruit.
“Yeah, but… why does everything look so squishy?” Bing asked, poking a nearby display of fruits. The vendor—a tall, vine-covered plant woman—glared at her.
“Don’t poke things!” Maris hissed.
“But it’s so tempting!” Bing pouted, her curiosity unquenched.
They stopped at a stall filled with sparkling blue fruits. Maris leaned in to inspect them when the vendor, mistaking her for a local, began speaking rapidly in the plant language.
“Uh… Lucan, what’s she saying?” Maris asked, glancing at him nervously.
Lucan shrugged. “How would I know? I don’t speak… leaf.”
The vendor, undeterred, plucked a fruit and handed it to Maris, making an elaborate series of gestures. She pointed at Maris, then at Lucan, then at the fruit, all while smiling brightly.
“I think she’s trying to say something about… sharing?” Maris guessed.
“Maybe it’s a gift?” Bing said, reaching for the fruit.
The vendor gasped dramatically and waved her hands. She snatched the fruit back and, with exaggerated care, sliced it open, revealing a glittering gel-like interior. She handed one half to Maris and the other to Lucan, motioning for them to eat it together.
Maris raised an eyebrow. “Why do I feel like this is some kind of ritual?”
“Just eat it,” Lucan said. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
Reluctantly, Maris and Lucan each took a bite. The fruit was sweet and tangy, with a texture like jelly. As soon as they swallowed, the vendor clapped her hands and began a high-pitched humming chant. Nearby plant beings joined in, forming a circle around them.
“What is happening?” Maris whispered, her cheeks flushing.
“I think we just got married,” Lucan said flatly.
Bing burst out laughing. “Mom, Dad, congratulations! I always wanted to attend your second wedding!”
Maris looked at Lucan, “Well… What do you think?”
“I think it’s awesome.”
The chanting continued, growing louder as the crowd swayed in unison. Bing, unable to contain herself, joined in, mimicking the plant beings’ movements.
“Bing, stop that!” Maris snapped.
“Why? This is fun!” Bing giggled, spinning in circles.
At that moment, a plant being stepped forward, holding a large wreath made of glowing flowers. She placed it on Maris’s head with reverence, then handed a smaller one to Lucan.
Maris smiled, “Yep, definitely married.”
Lucan sighed, adjusting his new floral crown. “Well, at least it’s a nice ceremony.”

After the “wedding,” the trio hurried out of the market.
“Mom, I’m happy to attend your second weeding.”
Lucan smirked. “It’s not every day you accidentally marry your husband again.”

Maris chuckle, “Right.”
At that moment, a group of young plant beings ran up to them, carrying tiny wreaths. They placed one on Bing’s head and started chanting again.
“Oh,” Maris said.
Bing grinned. “Guess I’m officially part of the family now!”
Lucan chuckled. “Welcome to the club.”

Nyx and Vrinda walked through a lush forest path, surrounded by towering trees with glowing vines that pulsed with soft, golden light. The vibrant scenery was breathtaking, but Vrinda’s attention was locked on a massive flower sitting atop a nearby hill.
“Nyx, do you see that flower?” Vrinda said, pointing.
Nyx tilted her head. “The one that’s bigger than a house and sparkles like it’s alive? Yeah, hard to miss.”
“I want it,” Vrinda said matter-of-factly.
Nyx blinked. “What do you mean you want it? It’s a flower, not a souvenir.”
“I’ve never seen anything like it. It’ll look amazing in my room!” Vrinda said, her eyes gleaming with determination.
Nyx crossed her arms. “Vrinda, that flower is probably sacred or something. Besides, how are you going to carry it? It’s bigger than both of us combined!”
“I’ll figure it out,” Vrinda said confidently.
Nyx sighed. “Fine, but when the plant people start chasing us, I’m blaming you.”
They climbed up the hill, carefully avoiding the tangling vines and strange, glowing mushrooms that popped up along the way. When they finally reached the top, the flower looked even more impressive up close. Its petals shimmered in a kaleidoscope of colors, and a sweet, hypnotic fragrance filled the air.
“It’s beautiful,” Vrinda said dreamily.
“It’s a little too beautiful,” Nyx said, narrowing her eyes. “Stuff like this always comes with a catch.”
“Oh, stop being so paranoid,” Vrinda said, reaching out to touch the stem.
The moment her fingers brushed the plant, the ground beneath them trembled. The flower shifted, its petals curling slightly as if it were waking up.
Nyx stepped back. “See? I told you it was a bad idea!”
Vrinda waved her off. “It’s fine. Just a little movement—probably normal.”
Before Nyx could respond, the flower suddenly let out a low, rumbling growl.
“Did… did that flower just growl at us?” Nyx asked, her voice rising in pitch.
“Uh, maybe it’s just wind?” Vrinda said nervously.
The flower didn’t wait for an explanation. Its massive petals snapped open, revealing rows of sharp, glowing thorns.
“RUN!” Nyx shouted, grabbing Vrinda’s arm and pulling her down the hill.
The flower didn’t just sit there. It uprooted itself, revealing thick, vine-like legs, and began stomping after them. Other plants along the hill seemed to join in, their vines whipping around like angry snakes.
“This is your fault!” Nyx yelled as they sprinted down the hill.
“I just wanted a flower!” Vrinda shouted back.
The plant creatures were relentless, and soon Nyx and Vrinda found themselves cornered against a glowing tree. The giant flower loomed over them, its thorn-filled petals quivering with rage.
“Well, it was nice knowing you,” Nyx said, leaning against the tree.
Vrinda frowned. “Don’t be so dramatic. I’ve got a plan.”
“Oh, this should be good,” Nyx said sarcastically.
Vrinda raised her hand, and a shimmering illusion appeared around them. The illusion made them look like small, harmless flowers swaying gently in the breeze.
The giant flower paused, tilting its head as if confused. After a moment, it let out a disgruntled growl and stomped away, its vine legs shaking the ground with every step.
Nyx let out a breath of relief. “Okay, that was actually impressive.”
Vrinda grinned. “Told you I had a plan.”
Just as they were about to relax, a smaller flower creature popped up from the ground, glaring at them with tiny glowing eyes. It didn’t look as threatening, but it was clearly annoyed.
“What do you want?” Nyx asked, crossing her arms.
The flower made a squeaky noise and spat out a tiny seed that hit Vrinda on the forehead.
“Ow!” Vrinda yelped.
Nyx burst out laughing. “Looks like you’ve been marked as a troublemaker!”
Vrinda groaned, rubbing her forehead. “Let’s just get out of here before more of them show up.”
As they made their way back to the city, Nyx couldn’t stop laughing at Vrinda’s misfortune.
“So, did you get your precious flower?” Nyx teased.
“Shut up,” Vrinda muttered, still sulking.
When they finally reached the safety of the city, a group of plant beings stared at the tiny seed mark on Vrinda’s forehead and began whispering to each other.
“Great,” Vrinda said, throwing her hands up. “Now I’m famous for annoying a flower.”
Nyx smirked. “Hey, at least you’re leaving a legacy.”
Vrinda shot her a glare.
