Chapter 381: Heroine and Her Husband’s Day with Her Daughter
Lucan asked what she had been doing with Nyx, and Maris told him what they had done.
Lucan then asked who Kathy and the two Moli were, and Maris explained that they were her clones, whose appearances she had changed. Maris added that she only wanted to make Nyx feel humiliated but didn’t intend to humiliate her in front of others.
Lucan nodded.

Lucan adjusted his baseball cap, shielding his eyes from the bright sun as he held his daughter Leira’s hand. Her excitement was palpable, her small feet bouncing with every step as they approached the gates of the amusement park.
“Papa, look!” Leira exclaimed, pointing at the massive Ferris wheel that loomed over the park. “Can we go on that first?”
Lucan chuckled. “How about we save that for later? It’ll look even prettier when the lights come on at night.”
Leira pouted for a moment but quickly nodded, her attention shifting to the colorful balloons floating above a vendor’s cart. “Okay! But I want a pink balloon later!”
“Deal,” Lucan said, smiling as they handed their tickets to the cheerful attendant and stepped inside.
The park buzzed with life—children laughing, vendors calling out their wares, and the occasional distant scream from one of the roller coasters. Lucan glanced at the map in his hand, but Leira tugged his arm.
“Papa, the carousel! Please!” she pleaded, already dragging him toward the beautifully lit ride.
Lucan gave in without hesitation. “Alright, alright. Let’s go.”
The carousel’s music played as they picked out their horses, Leira insisting on a white one with golden details. Lucan opted for the one beside her, a bit smaller than he expected for his size, but her delighted giggles made it worth it.
“Hold on tight,” he said as the ride started to spin. Leira waved to no one in particular, her laughter bright and contagious.
After the carousel, they wandered through the park, trying games and sampling treats. Lucan watched as Leira tossed rings at bottles with fierce determination. When she finally landed one, the booth attendant handed her a small stuffed bear.
“Look, Papa! I won!” she beamed, holding up the bear proudly.
“You sure did,” Lucan said, ruffling her hair. “That’s going on the shelf at home.”
They moved on to the teacups, where Leira insisted on spinning as fast as possible, and Lucan tried his best not to look dizzy afterward. Next came the bumper cars, where she gleefully rammed into him over and over, her high-pitched laughter echoing in the arena.
By mid-afternoon, they stopped for a break, sitting on a bench with ice cream cones in hand. Leira swung her legs back and forth, smearing chocolate on her nose as she ate.
“You’re messy,” Lucan teased, pulling a napkin from his pocket to wipe her face.
She giggled. “You’re messy too, Papa!” she said, dabbing at his cheek with her tiny hand, even though there was nothing there.
As the sun began to set, they finally made their way to the Ferris wheel. The line wasn’t too long, and soon they were seated in their capsule, slowly rising above the park.
“Wow…” Leira whispered, pressing her face to the glass. The lights of the park twinkled below, and in the distance, the city skyline was bathed in hues of orange and pink.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Lucan said softly, watching her eyes widen in wonder. Moments like this reminded him that… His daughter is really everything.
Leira turned to him with a bright smile. “Thanks for bringing me here, Papa. Today was the best day ever!”
Lucan leaned over and kissed her forehead. “Anything for you, kiddo.”
They stayed silent for a moment, simply enjoying the view and each other’s company. As the Ferris wheel began its descent, Lucan made a mental note to plan more days like this.
Because nothing was more important than moments like these with his daughter.

The gentle hum of water and the shimmering glow of aquatic tanks greeted Maris and her daughter Leira as they stepped into the aquarium. The child’s eyes widened with wonder as she pressed her face against the glass of the first exhibit, where colorful schools of fish darted between coral reefs.

“Look, Mommy! That one’s pink! Just like my dress!” Leira pointed excitedly at a tiny, vibrant fish zipping through the water.
Maris smiled, placing a hand on her daughter’s shoulder. “It is. And see that yellow one next to it? It’s a clownfish. Remember we read about those?”
Leira nodded vigorously. “It’s like Nemo! Do you think they talk to each other?”
“Maybe,” Maris said, crouching down to her daughter’s level. “But they probably have their own way of talking, like using their fins or swimming patterns.”
Leira tilted her head, deep in thought. “That’s so cool!”
They strolled through the exhibits, pausing at the jellyfish tanks where Leira gasped at the glowing, translucent creatures floating like alien beings. Maris watched her daughter with a mixture of pride and joy, snapping a few pictures to capture her wide-eyed wonder.
At the shark tunnel, Leira clung to Maris’s arm as a massive hammerhead swam overhead. “Is it scary, Mommy?”
Maris chuckled. “Not if we’re safe behind this glass. Sharks are amazing creatures, though. Did you know some of them have been around since dinosaur times?”
“Wow!” Leira whispered, peeking up at the sleek predator. “They’re like underwater dinosaurs!”
After the aquarium, Maris checked her watch. “Ready for lunch, sweetheart? I have a special place in mind.”
Leira’s curiosity was piqued as they walked into the futuristic Robot Café. The metallic sheen of the tables and walls reflected neon lights, and robotic servers whirred past, delivering food with mechanical precision.
“Whoa!” Leira exclaimed, spinning in place to take it all in. “The robots are real?”
“They are,” Maris said, guiding her to a booth where a small screen lit up, greeting them with a cheerful robotic voice.
“Hello! Welcome to RoboBistro. What can I get for you today?”
Leira giggled, pointing at the menu. “A spaghetti and a strawberry milkshake, please!”
Maris smiled and ordered a salad and coffee for herself. Moments later, a sleek, humanoid robot arrived at their table, gracefully placing their dishes in front of them.
“Thank you, Mr. Robot!” Leira said, waving enthusiastically.
The robot responded with a polite bow before gliding away.
As they ate, Leira couldn’t stop asking questions. “Do you think robots dream, Mommy? Like the fishes in the aquarium?”
Maris chuckled, wiping sauce from her daughter’s cheek. “Maybe. If they did, I bet they’d dream about helping people or learning new things.”
Leira took a sip of her milkshake, pondering this. “I’d want to dream about helping people too. And swimming with jellyfish!”
Maris reached across the table and took her hand. “That’s a wonderful dream, sweetie. You can do anything you set your mind to.”
After finishing their meal, the two explored the café’s interactive robot demonstrations, with Leira clapping excitedly as a robot danced to upbeat music.
As the day wound down, Maris and Leira walked hand in hand back to the car, the child’s eyes drooping from the day’s excitement.
“Today was so fun, Mommy,” Leira murmured sleepily.
Maris smiled, brushing a strand of hair from her daughter’s face. “I’m glad, sweetheart. We’ll have more adventures like this.”
With her daughter leaning against her shoulder, Maris felt a warm sense of contentment. These moments, she thought, were the ones she’d treasure forever.
