Chapter 382: Heroine’s Daughter with Nyx and Virnda
The moon hung high in the sky, casting silvery beams over the city as Nyx and Leira approached the old hunter building. Its towering structure, worn with time, loomed against the starry backdrop, exuding an air of mystery.
“Are we really going inside, Elder Sister Nyx?” Leira asked, her voice a mix of excitement and nervousness. She clung to Nyx’s hand, her tiny feet skipping over the cracked pavement.
Nyx smirked, her sharp gaze scanning the shadows. “Of course. I promised you an adventure, didn’t I?”
The heavy oak doors creaked open as Nyx pushed them, revealing a dimly lit hall filled with relics of past hunts. The faint scent of wood and dust hung in the air, and their footsteps echoed eerily.
Leira’s eyes widened as she took in the old weapons displayed on the walls and the faded paintings of hunters battling mythical creatures. “This place is so cool!”
Nyx chuckled softly. “You haven’t seen the best part yet. Let’s go upstairs.”
As they climbed the spiral staircase, the air grew colder, and Leira shivered slightly. Nyx noticed and draped her long coat over the little girl’s shoulders.
“Thanks,” Leira said, her voice muffled as she pulled the coat tighter.
When they reached the top floor, a flickering lantern cast strange shadows on the walls. Nyx stopped, her eyes narrowing as she felt a faint ripple in the air.
“Stay close to me,” Nyx said firmly, her hand resting on the hilt of her dagger.
Leira nodded, her excitement bubbling over her fear. “Is it a ghost? Are we going to see a real ghost?”
As if on cue, a translucent figure began to materialize in the center of the room. It was tall and skeletal, with hollow eyes glowing faintly. The ghost’s head tilted unnaturally as it turned its gaze toward them.
Leira gasped but didn’t let go of Nyx’s hand.
The ghost’s hollow voice echoed through the room. “Why have you come to this place, mortal?”
Nyx’s expression remained calm as she stepped forward, shielding Leira with her arm. “I’m not here to cause trouble, but if you try anything, you’ll regret it.”
The ghost hissed, but before it could move, a smaller figure appeared beside it—a servant spirit, bound by chains of light. It bowed low before Nyx, its voice trembling.
“Lady Nyx, what are your orders?”
Leira’s jaw dropped. “Elder Sister Nyx, it listens to you? That’s amazing!”
Nyx smirked slightly, not taking her eyes off the ghost. “Of course it does. They can’t disobey me.” She looked at the servant. “Keep this one in check and make sure it doesn’t try to harm anyone.”
The servant nodded, its chains glowing brighter as it turned toward the ghost. “Obey or be banished,” it intoned.
The ghost recoiled, letting out a chilling wail before disappearing into the shadows. The room fell silent, the tension evaporating.
Leira clapped her hands, her face lighting up with pure admiration. “Elder Sister Nyx, you’re the coolest! You even control ghosts!”
Nyx crouching down to meet Leira’s gaze. “Yes. I’m coolest. But you’ve got to remember—ghosts can be dangerous. Never let your guard down.”
Leira nodded earnestly. “I won’t! But I still think you’re awesome.”
Nyx ruffled her hair with a rare smile. “Come on, let’s get out of here before anything else decides to show up.”
As they left the hunter building, Leira skipped alongside Nyx, her excitement from the night’s events evident in her every step. She glanced up at Nyx, her eyes sparkling.
“Elder Sister Nyx, can I grow up to be like you someday?”
Nyx raised an eyebrow, her smirk returning. “You’ve got a long way to go, kid, but… maybe. If you’re brave enough.”
“I will be!” Leira said confidently.
Under the moonlight, the two walked away from the eerie building, one a was Evil Magician, and the other a starry-eyed child who now believed her Elder Sister Nyx was the most incredible person in the world.

The sun hung high above the shimmering ocean as Virnda steered the small boat through gentle waves. Leira sat beside her, wearing a big sun hat and oversized sunglasses, her legs swinging with excitement.
“Where are we going, Elder Sister Vir?” Leira chirped.
“To a secret island,” Virnda replied confidently, puffing out her chest. “A place where only the brave can go! And since you’re with me, you’re in safe hands.”
Leira giggled. “I’m not so sure about the ‘safe’ part, Elder Sister Vir.”
As the boat neared the island, Virnda attempted a dramatic docking maneuver, turning the wheel sharply. “Watch this, Leira. This is what experienced sailors do!”
The boat hit a rock near the shore with a loud thud, sending both of them stumbling. Leira barely held onto her hat while Virnda face-planted onto the deck.
Leira peered over the edge, unimpressed. “Elder Sister Vir, I think your ‘secret’ island is about to eat our boat.”
“Minor setback!” Virnda announced, brushing sand off her face. She jumped into the shallow water to pull the boat closer. Instead, her foot got stuck in the mud, and she wobbled until she fell backward into the water with a loud splash.
Leira laughed so hard she had to hold onto the boat to stay upright. “Elder Sister Vir, are you trying to scare the fish? Or is this your actual plan?”
Once they made it to the shore (after Virnda spent five minutes trying to untangle her foot), they began exploring the island. It was lush and beautiful, with towering palm trees and colorful birds.
“See?” Virnda said, trying to regain her dignity. “Didn’t I tell you it’d be amazing?”
“It’s okay,” Leira teased. “If you don’t mess it up again.”
As they walked, Virnda spotted a coconut on the ground. She decided to show off her strength. “Watch and learn, little Leira!”
She picked up the coconut and smacked it against a rock. Nothing happened. She tried again, hitting it harder. Still, the coconut remained uncracked. By the fifth attempt, her face was red, and Leira was sitting cross-legged, chin in her hands, watching.
“Elder Sister Vir, do you need help? Or should I find a stronger rock for you?”
“I got this!” Virnda insisted, swinging the coconut one last time. It exploded—spraying coconut water directly onto her face and hair.
Leira burst out laughing. “Now you look like a wet puppy! You’re so useless, Elder Sister Vir!”
Virnda groaned, wiping her face. “I meant to do that.”
As they ventured deeper into the island, they heard rustling in the bushes. Virnda tensed. “Stay behind me, Leira! There could be a wild animal.”
Leira rolled her eyes. “Sure, Elder Sister Vir, like you can fight anything.”
A lizard the size of a cat jumped out, startling Virnda so badly she screamed and leaped behind Leira. “It’s a monster! Protect me!”
Leira stared at the harmless creature as it scurried away. “Elder Sister Vir, was that your battle cry? Should I carry you back to the boat now?”
“I was testing your courage!” Virnda retorted, standing tall again, though her voice wavered.
Leira gave her a long, pitying look. “Elder Sister Vir, you’re… special.”
As they returned to the boat, Leira was humming happily while Virnda grumbled to herself. She couldn’t believe the day had turned into one embarrassment after another.
“I had fun,” Leira said brightly.
“Really?” Virnda asked, perking up.
“Yeah! I’ve decided something,” Leira said with a mischievous smile. “You’re the most useless Elder Sister Vir I’ve ever met!”
Virnda sighed. “Well, at least I’m unique.”
As the boat drifted away from the island, Virnda silently vowed never to take Leira on another “adventure.”
