Chapter 399: Heroine’s Husband with Her Daughter’s Friend III
It was Saturday morning, and Lucan was doing his best not to stare at the youthful, energetic bodies before him.
There were five girls, all of whom had just returned from a run and were currently milling around the living room, hydrating and eating protein bars.
The girls were all wearing sports bras and obscenely short running shorts, flaunting their toned arms and shoulders, flat bellies, and long, lean legs—practically half-naked.
Not that Lucan was complaining.
All the girls were stunningly pretty, but his daughter, Leira, was easily the most beautiful of the group, even though she was just nine, she attracted all attention. Moreover she also had Saint’s Halo, that Maris gave her, which easily made her stand out, moreover this Saint’s Halo also made her lucky and she would never get targeted by anyone, or anyone would have impure thought of her. Like Maris, everyone would think her as pure saint, that was only for their worshipping.
Now about these friends then they were teammates of Leira on the city team, and what amazed Lucan the most was the variety among them. They ranged from schoolgirls to college students, working women, married women, and even mother.
Maris entered the living room, preparing to head to the gym. She had been feeling bored without any fighting, so she decided to join a gym that also offered martial arts classes. Unfortunately for her, every opponent she faced was defeated with a single punch, and none could even touch her. As a result, Lucan had to accompany her from time to time to entertain her since he was the only one strong enough to challenge her.
Maris was dressed in a long white T-shirt that reached her knees and tight black leggings, her hair tied back in a ponytail. Coincidentally, Leira was wearing the exact same outfit.
Living in this place, they aged normally, which now made Maris look like a proper, stunning mother instead of resembling Leira’s sister or friend. Maris had truly grown into a mature woman—something Lucan loved. He secretly hoped that after leaving this place, she would retain this appearance rather than reverting to her youthful, college-student looks.
Leira suddenly stood up. “You’re going to the gym, right? Can I come too, Mom?”
Leira didn’t often ask to accompany her mother to the gym, but Maris was always delighted when she did.
“You still want to go to the gym with me after you just ran four kilometres?” Maris asked, surprised.
“Of course!” Leira said confidently.
Maris hugged her daughter, and as their cheeks pressed together, Lucan was once again struck by how much they resembled each other.
He was fortunate to have such a beautiful family.
“I’ll fill your water bottles,” Lucan offered.
“Thanks, Papa.”
“Thanks,” Maris added with a smile.
He nodded and headed to the kitchen. Whistling contentedly, he retrieved two water bottles from a cupboard and filled them with ice water. Turning back toward the living room, He almost bumped into a young and beautiful girl.
“Katie! Sorry, I didn’t see you!”
Katie, a full head shorter than him, looked up with a playful smile. Unlike the others, she had changed out of her running attire and was now wearing an oversized concert T-shirt that was faded and well-worn. The neck of the shirt had been intentionally torn off, creating a wide opening that sat asymmetrically on her slender frame, exposing her left shoulder and teasing a tiny glimpse of her breast.
Lucan immediately noticed that Katie wasn’t wearing a bra.
In fact, she didn’t appear to be wearing anything else. The oversized T-shirt hung like a nightgown on her, the hem barely brushing her upper thighs, with no sign of shorts underneath. It was a bold, provocative outfit that commanded attention.
Her hair, usually tied up when training with her teammates, now cascaded freely down to her mid-back. There was nothing unusual about Katie wearing her hair down, but combined with her dark almond-shaped eyes, naturally tan skin, and effortless confidence, she resembled an exotic masterpiece.
Lucan cleared his throat, trying to maintain his composure. “Katie, uh… why are you in that T-shirt?”
Katie’s smile widened, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “Oh, this?” She twirled slightly, letting the hem of the T-shirt lift just enough to make Lucan instinctively avert his gaze. “After our run, my sports bra and shorts were drenched in sweat. I asked Ms. Maris if she had something I could wear, and she lent me this.” She tugged at the oversized shirt playfully. “Comfy, right?”
Lucan gave her a tight smile, unsure how to respond. “You didn’t have any spare clothes of your own?”
“Nope!” Katie shrugged, her exposed shoulder rising and falling gracefully. “I wasn’t planning on staying long, but everyone was hanging out, so I thought, why not?”
Katie stepped closer, leaning slightly as if to whisper a secret. “Don’t worry, Mr. Lucan,” she teased, her voice low and lilting, “I’m decent under here. Probably.”
Lucan’s eyes widened, and Katie burst into a fit of laughter, clearly enjoying his reaction.

“Relax!” she said, stepping back and tossing her hair over her shoulder. “I’ll grab some proper clothes when I get home. Thanks for the concern, though.”
Katie paused imperceptibly before returning to the living room. And as she walked away, Lucan admired her backside and the way her toned V-shape thighs gave her a healthy, athletic appearance. The way Katie’s loose t-shirt hung just below her waist, making her long legs appear even longer and sexier, was something that would forever be etched in his mind.
“Teenagers,” he muttered to himself, before returning to the task of filling water bottles. After that incident with her, Katie got bold in teasing him whenever they were alone.
—
After Maris and Leira left for the gym, Lucan busied himself with yardwork. The day was bright and warm, perfect for tackling overdue tasks. He started with mowing the lawn, the steady hum of the mower cutting through the silence. Next, he moved to sawing off several large branches from a tree that had grown too far, extending over the fence and into the neighbor’s property. The physical exertion felt good, and the rhythmic motion of cutting wood was satisfying. However, despite the focus the work required, Lucan’s mind kept drifting elsewhere.
He couldn’t shake the image of his wife Maris from earlier, wearing that long white T-shirt and leggings, her pink hair tied back in a casual ponytail. The simplicity of the outfit somehow made her even more attractive. Over the years, he’d admired her in various outfits—elegant lingerie, a skimpy two-piece bikini, a sleek little black dress—but there was something uniquely captivating about her in that gym attire. Perhaps it was the way the leggings hugged her legs, emphasizing their strength and shapeliness, or the way the oversized T-shirt fell loosely over her figure.
And then there was Katie. The sight of her standing in the kitchen, that oversized concert T-shirt slipping off her shoulder, her hair cascading down her back—it was an image that stubbornly lingered in his mind. The way the shirt barely covered her thighs, the absence of visible shorts, and her playful attitude had left an impression that refused to fade.
Lucan shook his head and refocused on his work, pushing those thoughts aside. Hours passed as he toiled, the sun inching higher in the sky. By the time he finished, the yard was immaculate, and the afternoon light had softened, casting a golden glow over the neighborhood.
As Lucan was tidying up, he heard the familiar sound of footsteps on the driveway. He turned to see Maris and Leira returning from the gym. Both were still visibly flushed and glistening with sweat, their cheeks red from exertion. They carried their water bottles and gym bags, walking with the confident stride of two women who had just conquered an intense workout.
Maris’s long white T-shirt now clung slightly to her waist, damp with sweat, emphasizing the subtle curve of her hips. While it still hung loosely over her chest, obscuring her figure, the slight cling of the fabric hinted at the contours beneath without fully revealing them. Lucan found his gaze lingering, imagining how much more enticing it would have been if the shirt had been just a little more transparent, showing a faint outline of her bra. But even as it was, there was an undeniable allure in the simplicity of her attire.
Leira, walking beside her mother, was equally flushed but radiant with youthful energy. Like Maris, she wore a long T-shirt and leggings, though hers fit her smaller frame differently. The two looked remarkably similar despite the difference in age.
Lucan had see what Leira would look like when she grow up, she had dark hair from her and light blue eyes from her mother, and she looked similar to Maris but as she grow up, she wouldn’t look like Maris but different but one thing he knew for sure that, Leira would become even more beautiful than Mairs.
