Chapter 110: The Living Stone
Quest: [Twilight War Spear]
Objective: Prismatic Stone 1/3
Description:
The Prismatic Stone exists somewhere in the world of Ethereal. No one knows its origins or its true name. It was given this title based purely on its appearance.
Gather three Prismatic Stones to fuse the Druid-exclusive Artifacts into the Grand Druid’s Ultimate Weapon: Twilight War Spear.
Reward:
Twilight War Spear is forged from the four Druid Artifacts, embodying the ultimate balance of destruction, healing, protection, and bloodlust. It is a weapon that grows alongside you, adapting to your strength and granting you the greatest possible assistance.

Ethan skimmed the entire quest description, but his eyes locked onto just four words:
“A weapon that grows.”
Finally. A stroke of luck.
Lyla’s bow, Frostbound Reverie, was a growth weapon.
He had been the one who found it and handed it to her, but he had always been a little jealous of its power. Watching her unleash a Forbidden Spell with a single shot was incredibly satisfying.
Now, if he completed this quest, he would have one too, a Druid-exclusive growth weapon.
How could he not be thrilled?
A moment ago, he had been sulking over the four useless Artifacts in his bag. Now, his spirits were soaring. It turned out those Artifacts were just materials to craft the Twilight War Spear.
If four Artifacts were merely the ingredients, what tier would the final weapon be?
At minimum, Legendary-tier, right? No one had ever heard of anything stronger in Ethereal.
But if this was a fusion process, then it might surpass even Legendary.
Ethan wasn’t going to overthink it. Right now, he had a bigger problem. What exactly was a Prismatic Stone?
In his previous life, he had never heard of such an item. He glanced at the quest objective: 1/3.
‘…Huh?’
That meant he already had one in his inventory.
Hurriedly, he opened his bag. His eyes landed on a strange, multicolored stone he had picked up in the Iron Mountains.
Ethan was certain—this had to be a Prismatic Stone. Back then, he had found it odd that the stone had no name. And just like the quest description stated, no one knew its origins.
‘So that’s how it was.’
If he had found one in the Iron Mountains, then… could more be obtained there?
But the moment he had that thought, reality slapped him in the face. That stone had only dropped after Lyla wiped out tens of thousands of monsters with a single Forbidden Spell—Winter’s End.
If he had to farm them the normal way, who knew how long it would take? This drop rate was insane.
Ethan let out a sigh and pulled the stone from his inventory. The instant it was exposed to open air, a violent gust of wind erupted.

A terrifying suction force surged forth.
The surrounding grass and flowers withered at a speed visible to the naked eye. The Dreamwood Grove trembled as chaos spread. Several Grove Sentinels rushed toward him.
At that moment, Ethan wanted nothing more than to throw the stone away and tell the soldiers, I swear this has nothing to do with me!
In the Forest of Nature, any destruction of the land resulted in forced exile or immediate execution.
But when he tried shaking it off, the stone refused to leave his hand.
Luckily, when the first soldier—a Cervidian Guardian, whose lower body resembled a stag and upper body a human, approached, he simply bowed.
“Honored Grand Druid, do you require assistance?”
Ethan exhaled sharply.
Whew. At least that title was worth something.
Trying to play it cool, he nodded. “No issues. The Prismatic Stone is just… absorbing energy. It’ll be done soon.”
He had no idea if that was true, but he had to say something. Though, judging by the stone’s reaction, it did seem to be drawing in the life energy around it. Its glow was growing even more intense.
…But how long would this take?
“Honored Grand Druid,” the Cervidian Guardian spoke again. “A Prismatic Stone requires six elemental forces to awaken—Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, and Life.”
He gestured toward the stone in Ethan’s hand.
“Yours is still missing Water and Life. You may visit the Lunar Well, it contains both elements.”
Ethan stared blankly.
“Awaken?”
Awaken what?
___
Ethan followed the guardian to the Lunar Well.
As soon as they arrived, he could see the energy radiating from the well, pure life force flowing into the Prismatic Stone in his hand. Along with it, water vapor from the well also fused into the stone.
Fifteen minutes passed.
The absorption slowed, and the stone seemed to reach its limit.

Ethan barely had time to check his quest log before—
Crunch!
The stone bit his finger.
A sharp pain shot through his hand. Instinctively, he flung it away.

‘What the hell?’
And just like that, the bonding process was done?
Before he could react, the stone he had tossed away whooshed through the air and flew right back to him. It didn’t just return, it burrowed into his hand.
Ethan stared at it in horror.
The stone could fly? Was it trying to become sentient?!
He immediately threw it again. This time, when the force wore off, the stone didn’t fly back.
Instead, it simply vanished.
The next moment—poof—it reappeared on his head. Then it started nestling into his hair, like a bird settling into a nest.
Ethan sighed in defeat.
Grabbing the stone from his head, he shoved it into his inventory. Thankfully, this time, it stayed put.
Now, time to check the quest.

[Quest: The Awakening of the Prismatic Stone]
Type: Hidden Quest
Progress: Phase Two – Feeding
Description: The Prismatic Stone must be nourished with various minerals to advance to the next phase. The rarer the mineral, the faster the evolution.
That was it. No extra details.
Ethan’s curiosity was piqued.
‘Evolution?’
What could it possibly evolve into? Was it going to pop out some mythical creature or something?
Whatever, he just had to feed it minerals. That could wait. For now, it was time to handle his Tree Form transformation quest.
___
The Dreamwood Grove was enormous.
After asking several guardians for directions, Ethan finally arrived at a massive ancient tree, just ten meters behind him the whole time. Looking up, he noticed a golden exclamation mark floating above its crown.
He groaned. How had he not found it the whole time? it had just been right behind him. Was there some sort of mysterious phenomenon at play here?
No matter how much he thought of it, he couldn’t come to a conclusion.
Ethan approached the tree and initiated a conversation.
Quest Received: [Transform: Tree Form]
The task was ridiculously simple:
Find injured soldiers in the grove.
Use the given Rejuvenation Spell and Healing Spell to restore them. Purge their diseases using the Purification Spell.
For the next thirty minutes, he ran all over Dreamwood Grove, healing every last soldier and villager he could find. Finally, with just 15 minutes left until midnight, he was done.
There was still enough time to return to the Ancient Tree and turn in the quest.
And just as expected, in the final ten seconds before the game reboot, He reached the tree and swiftly completed the dialogue.
