Chapter 262: The Cult (32)
“Tell me the location of their hideout.”
After a prolonged pause in thought, D’andre requested with a serious expression etched on his face. A small smile then appeared on the Venerable’s countenance afterward.
“So, you’re really that interested? What exactly is in it for you?”
Ever since he had known that scheming merchant, D’andre had never been one to show concern for the safety of others or to possess such a strong sense of justice.
In fact, he was the type to peddle poisons and curse spells without a second thought, as long as he made profits.
So naturally, he was somewhat curious about what benefit might be in store for him this time.
However, contrary to his own expectations, D’andre replied.
“There is nothing for me to gain. Is it so strange to care about the lives of others? My special customer and friend, notwithstanding.”
Venerable Mario looked at D’andre for a few seconds, as though he were observing an entirely different man, then shrugged and proceeded to call one of the spy knights.
The spy knights walked into the room, bowed respectfully to both of them, and then stood before Venerable Mario, facing him and waiting for his orders.
“My friend here is eager to lend a hand in our mission, take him along to join the others at the hideout and do not withhold any information from him, understood?”
The spy knight bowed in acknowledgment and responded affirmatively before turning his gaze to D’andre, who was already rising and prepared to embark on a mission to rescue his friend.
“Be careful—you may be powerful, but do not forget that the cult of Ember Justice is a group of lunatics who fight with cunning and without a single care for their own lives or the world around them.”
The lord of the Castle of Might offered a few friendly warnings before D’andre departed with the spy knight.
“Of course I will be careful. Expect good news soon. It’s been so long since I wished for a day like this—a day when I can finally beat some shit into those goonies.”
D’andre responded with a smile and strolled behind the spy knight as they made their way out of the throne room.
Outside, the spy knight unfurled a map of the Dark Forest with a clearly marked location.
D’andre studied the location for three seconds before producing a golden teleportation magic slip. He tore it, and both of them vanished.
Meanwhile, inside the throne room, Venerable Mario could be seen smirking as he muttered a series of enigmatic words to himself.
A few minutes later, he called for the seekers.
Upon receiving his call, the seekers felt as though the very world were beginning to collapse around them, they sensed the icy hands of death caressing the very fibers of their souls.
Yet they did not dare to flee and instead went to meet their lord while offering fervent prayers to heaven.
DARK FOREST!
The popular vegetative landmass spread across a vast distance, bathed in the scorching glow of the midday sun.
At a random, hidden location in the Dark Forest, a cave that looked nothing out of the ordinary stood gallantly.
If a stranger were to come upon this location and see the cave, they would think nothing of it.
In fact, they might even feel compelled to step inside and relax, drawn by the cave’s deceptively safe appearance.
Unfortunately, the cave was a dwelling place of human monsters—a hideout concealing unimaginable evil and a ground where a dark, world-conquering seed was being cultivated.
Not far from this cave, hidden on the canopy branches of one of the tallest and widest trees, were the spy knights of the Aurorahaven Kingdom, their eyes fixed with extreme seriousness on the entrance of the extraordinary cave.

There were seven of them—three maintained their gaze on the cave, two continuously scanned the surroundings, while the other two engaged in separate tasks, one could be seen mixing colorful liquids in small glass bottles, while the other was absorbed in reading from a large book.
It has been over two days since they arrived in this place.
Thanks to the teleportation tracking device they carried, they were able to follow Xandros and the other cultist to their hideout.
Additionally, they had powerful concealing spells wrapped around them which prevented the cultist from sensing their presence, thereby giving them enough time to plan their invasion and attack.
Sadly, given the time they had spent here, they have not been able to figure out ways to activate the hidden door of the cave. They have scanned through several books about space manipulation and security magic and experimented with sending items cloaked in certain portions into the cave.
Those items managed to enter the ordinary cave but were unable to permeate the formation set over it.
If they were to move out on their own right now, reveal themselves, and try to enter the cave, they would catch the attention of the cultist, naturally making their tasks ten times harder than they already were.
Thus they continued patiently seeking ways to make everything right.
The spy knights worked silently and calmly, without a hint of pressure despite the complexity of their tasks.
While they were working, the wind pressure on their hideout surged abruptly, indicating some supernatural presence.
In the next moment, D’andre and another spy knight appeared behind them.
The seven turned and met the eyes of D’andre and his companion with intense gazes. However, upon recognizing them, the intensity of their stares diminished, and they bowed respectfully to D’andre to pay their respect.
D’andre nodded before accessing his inventory and retrieving a magic slip containing a telepathic connection spell that forms a bond among a small group of people, allowing them to communicate through their minds.
Once he tore the magic slip, the spell imbued within it activated, and they were able to converse telepathically among themselves.
“Tell me how it has been so far,” D’andre requested.
The spy knights wasted no time and began narrating their journey thus far, omitting no detail.
Thanks to their clear narrative, D’andre was able to understand the problem better, and his mind instantly began processing how to make things right.
“I think I have a way.”
His voice was like a ray of sunshine, quickly brightening the troubled hearts of the spy knights.
