After a moment, Lu Jueyu put down the women’s watch and picked up the men’s watch. Before she could put it on Li Lingyun’s wrist, it was taken by Li Chenmo.

“Let me do it,” Li Chenmo said, helping his second brother wear the watch.

Seeing her husband’s intense gaze, Lu Jueyu knew he was feeling jealous again. She helplessly pinched her husband’s fingers as he lowered his hand.

Feeling her soft touch, Li Chenmo glanced at her and intertwined their fingers, refusing to let go. Worried that someone might see, Lu Jueyu looked around anxiously.

Noticing his mother’s expression, Dong Li lowered his gaze and saw his father acting playfully again. As a dutiful son, he decided to help his parents by standing behind them to block others’ view of their clasped hands.

When Li Chenmo noticed his son’s assistance, he nodded approvingly while thinking, ‘This son of mine is really clever. He knows what to do to support his father. All my teaching didn’t go to waste.’

While Li Chenmo was busy flirting with his wife, Li Lingyun looked at the watch on his wrist carefully. The thought of having a matching watch with his Jia Er made him smile.

The store assistant noticed this and asked, “Comrade, does this pair suit you?”

Lu Jueyu smiled and said, “Father, this brand makes good watches. They won’t break easily. What’s more, you are no longer doing heavy work, so you don’t have to worry that you will break it.”

“Father, we can afford it,” Li Chenmo added when he noticed that his father hesitated not because he disliked it but because of the price.

While Father Li was still hesitating, Li Lingyun finished paying and returned with the store assistant.

“Comrade, could you show me the latest designs for men and women?” Lu Jueyu asked when she saw the store assistant.

Seeing that she intended to buy more watches, the store assistant’s eyes lit up, and she nodded, “Sure. This way, please.”

The store assistant led them to the center counter and took out ten watches with different designs. She opened the boxes and said, “Comrade, we have over ten new designs, including one for couples.”

Lu Jueyu selected several watches at once and said casually, “Comrade, I will take these.”

The store assistant was shocked when she saw her purchase so many watches, and asked, “Comrade, are you going to wear all of these yourself?”

The store assistant, hearing this, looked at her admiringly. She glanced at Li Chenmo and said, “Comrade, you married a good man.”

Lu Jueyu nodded but said nothing further. After paying, she stored the watches into her space using her bag as cover.

The store assistant escorted them to the entrance, and said, “Thank you, Comrade. Please visit us again.”

After leaving the watch store, they visited clothing and shoe stores. Since Li Lingyun needed clothes and shoes for his parents-in-law, Jueyu bought some for Father Li as well.

She also bought new shoes for herself, her husband, her children, and her parents. However, she didn’t buy any for her nephews and nieces, as it might draw envy from the villagers if they were too high profile. As for clothes, she planned to use those she already had in her space with better designs.

By the time they finished shopping, it was already past noon. Before Li Chenmo could suggest lunch at a state-owned restaurant, Father Li said, “Let’s go home for lunch.”
