Chapter 1008: A Big Dog
Since Father Li already made the decision, they could only agree and took the bus to head back.

When Father Li saw his third daughter-in-law paying the bus fare, he sighed. The cost of living in the capital was too high—everything required money here. He couldn’t fathom how city dwellers managed to live with such expenses.

Back in the village, they didn’t need to pay when they borrowed the production team’s tractor. At most, they would send over some vegetables to thank the production team, which they grew themselves at no cost.

Reflecting on this, he turned to his second son and said, “Second son, when we return to the village, remember to send more vegetables to your in-laws. The living expenses in the capital are high, it’s not easy for them.”

Li Lingyun was taken aback when he heard of his father’s words. He always knew his father was a generous man but he never expected him to think about his girlfriend’s family’s situation so thoughtfully.

Though surprised, he felt relieved. It was good that his father had these thoughts. This way, when he sent vegetables or grains to his wife’s family in the future, his father wouldn’t feel resentful or conflicted.

“I understand, Father,” he replied with a smile.

Father Li nodded and gazed out the window to enjoy the Capital scenery.

While Lingyun didn’t say it out loud, his respect and admiration for his father deepened.

By the time they reached the rented house, the sun was beginning to set in the western sky. Everyone was hungry, so Lu Jueyu went to cook after taking a five-hour rest in her space with her husband.

After they came out from the space, both of them felt refreshed. They went to the kitchen to prepare dinner and saw Dong Li was already boiling water and kneading dough inside.

“Xiao Li, what are you doing?” Lu Jueyu asked.

“Mother, I want to make soup dumplings. We have been walking for a whole day, so you must be tired. Tonight, let me prepare dinner. You and my Father can take a rest,” Dong Li replied.

Lu Jueyu was happy when she heard her son’s words. She smiled and said, “Mother isn’t tired. Let’s do it together.”

Dong Li looked at his parents and saw that they indeed didn’t look tired and nodded, “Alright.”

With Dong Li already kneading the dough, Lu Jueyu and Li Chenmo prepared the filling. With the three of them working together, they finished cooking a pot of soup dumplings in under an hour.

They moved the soup dumplings and utensils to the living room and had dinner with Father Li and Li Lingyun. After dinner, everyone washed up and went to bed early.

Tomorrow, they needed to wake up early to prepare for their visit to the Pan family so they couldn’t stay up too late.

When Li Chenmo and Lu Jueyu returned to their room, they went into the space after locking the door.

Inside the space, they took a hot bath together. Due to someone’s restless hands, they ended up rolling in the sheets before they went to sleep. As usual, Lu Jueyu fell asleep after their couple’s time, while her husband cleaned up the battlefield and helped her bathe.

They slept for over ten hours before they woke up naturally. After washing up, they exercised on the farmland in the space, running for three hours.

While Lu Jueyu took a shower, Li Chenmo continued his intense training in the yard for another two hours before going to take a shower. At the same time, Lu Jueyu busied herself in the kitchen, baking cookies.

Although Li Lingyun had prepared all of the items needed for a betrothal gift, she wanted to make small gifts for the neighbors. She had heard from Pan Meijia that the Pan family lived in a compound with eight buildings, each with ten floors, and each floor hosting eight families, totaling 640 families.

While she knew the Pan family wouldn’t know everyone, she prepared 800 portions of cookies just in case. People tend to join in festivities, hoping to share in the joy.

So, after she spent over 40 hours in space, she finally finished preparing the cookies. Fortunately, her husband helped her pack them into the gift boxes produced in the space’s factory.

After resting another day in the space, they emerged in their room. Looking at the watch, Lu Jueyu noticed that only an hour had passed outside. Since they weren’t sleepy, they read for a few hours before turning in.

Early the next morning, Lu Jueyu dreamed that she was pushed down by a big dog and was licked and bitten for a long time. Feeling annoyed, she opened her eyes and realized that the big dog in her dream was her husband.

Feeling ticklish from his kisses, she tried to push his head away and murmured, “Husband, what are you doing?”

Hearing his wife’s hoarse voice, Li Chenmo smiled and said, “I’m kissing my wife.”

Lu Jueyu laughed when she felt her husband’s hands touching her waist and belly button, “It tickles, stop it.”

Knowing that they still had something important to do, Li Chenmo stopped touching his wife reluctantly. When he looked up, he saw his wife was gazing at him and couldn’t help but give her a deep kiss.

After a few minutes, he finally parted their lips. He watched his wife catch her breath, and said with a satisfied smile, “Good morning, my wife.”

Lu Jueyu was annoyed by her husband’s smug smile and bites his Adam’s apple. Feeling him swallowing, she let him go, and replied with a grin, “Good morning, my husband.”

Seeing her grin like a cat that successfully snatched a fish, Li Chenmo lowered his head and kissed her again. After another round of long kisses, they finally left the bed and went into the space to wash up and change their clothes.

Afterward, they returned to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Since Li Lingyun’s friend will come today, they need to get ready earlier.
