Hearing the young couple’s conversation, Pan Meijia burst into laughter, breaking the previous, romantic tension. Li Lingyun looked at her helplessly and said, “Jia Er, let’s go change. I will take you home after.”

“Okay.”

After they changed their clothes, Li Lingyun went to pay and requested frames for two of their couple photos and their individual shots. He decided to keep the third couple photo for his personal collection.

When the sky darkened, he returned to their rented house, where his family was waiting for him. As he entered the living room, Li Chenmo said, “Second Brother, you come at the right time. Go wash your hands, and then we will eat together.”

“Mhmm,” Li Lingyun nodded, heading to wash up.

Once they were all seated, Father Li asked, “Second son, have you informed the Pan family about the ingredients?”

“Yes, Father,” he replied.

“Mother-in-law said they will borrow the warehouse near the public kitchen from the building management. It has locks, so we don’t have to worry about anything being stolen,” he added.

“That’s good,” Father Li nodded.

Li Chenmo served a dish to his wife and then asked, “Second Brother, will you come with me tomorrow?”

Li Lingyun shook his head and said, “Didn’t you ask our brother to send grains, vegetables, and fruits? Since we are short on meat, I will go find my friend and ask him to keep an eye on the market. If any supply comes in from the government, he can set some aside for us.”

Knowing that even the capital was facing grain and meat shortages, Li Chenmo nodded, “Alright. Then Xiao Li will stay home tomorrow to look after our father.”

Father Li frowned and said, “Xiao Li doesn’t need to stay home. I can take care of myself. The eldest son must have sent a lot of ingredients. You can take Xiao Li with you. He can help you move things.”

“Father, it’s not that we don’t trust you. But having Xiao Li here with you would put our minds at ease,” Lu Jueyu replied with a smile.

“Grandpa, I want to stay home with you. You said you would teach me how to play chess. I found a set in the room. Will you teach me tomorrow?” Dong Li added.

Seeing his grandson’s eager gaze, Father Li nodded, and said with a smile, “Alright, then.”

Lu Jueyu smiled and served her son a piece of meat while saying, “Xiao Li, eat more meat. Don’t just eat vegetables.”

“Thank you, Mother,” Dong Li nodded.

After dinner, the family tidied up and washed the dishes. While Li Lingyun went to bathe, Lu Jueyu took her husband into their space.

After showering in the space, they spent time reading and preparing the ingredients needed for the wedding banquet.

Since the amount from Xie Village wouldn’t be enough, they added some items from their storage. Once they were done, they left the space and took a short nap in their room.

The next morning, both woke at dawn. They washed up and had a simple breakfast in the space. When they came out from the space, they left some food in the kitchen for the family before heading out.

When they reached the bus stop, the bus was already in service. At the train station, they waited in an alley nearby for the middleman since this place is where Lu Han’s people used to trade the goods.

As the sun rose, a group of men approached while carrying several bamboo baskets and sacks. Seeing them, Li Chenmo walked over and asked, “Are you from Xie Village?”

One of the men nodded and replied, “Yes, brother-in-law. We have delivered the items, so we will take our leave now.”

Li Chenmo nodded and handed him a bag, “Breakfast and some money for you all. Thank you for your hard work.”

The young man was surprised but he didn’t hesitate to accept the gift. He smiled and said, “Thank you, brother-in-law.”

They had thought they would need to buy breakfast, but their boss’s brother-in-law had already prepared it. Opening the bag, the young man found a stack of money, enough for each of them to get around 30 yuan. Delighted, he thought working with this family was much more profitable than their usual jobs.

After they left, Lu Jueyu stored everything in her space, and the couple took the bus back. Before heading home, they went to a secluded area to retrieve the goods sent by Li Chenze and add more ingredients from the space. They also took out a cart and placed the bamboo baskets and sacks onto a cart.

This cart was made by Li Chenmo when they just got married and was stored inside the space for a long time. It was finally taken out and being used after so long.

After they tied up the sacks and bamboo basket, Lu Jueyu put her hands on the sack, planning to help her husband push the cart. But before she could push it, she heard her husband say, “Wife, let me pull the cart. Just walk beside me, and don’t strain yourself.”

Seeing her husband’s determination, she relented and walked beside him. She had thought he would struggle with the heavy load, but he pulled it with ease while chatting with her.

Lu Jueyu glanced at her husband and thought, ‘No wonder I’m always exhausted when we are doing that. My husband’s stamina and strength are so good!’

Oblivious to her thoughts, Li Chenmo noticed his wife was staring at him and asked curiously, “Wife, what’s wrong?”

Lu Jueyu rolled her eyes and replied with a snort when she heard her husband’s question, “Nothing.”

Perplexed by his wife’s response, Li Chenmo shook his head, smiling helplessly. Despite their many lives together, he still found her unpredictable.

Back at the rented house, they found that Li Lingyun had already left. Hearing the door was being opened, Dong Li emerged from his room while saying, “Father, Mother, you are back.”

“Xiao Li, come help move these things,” Li Chenmo said.
