Zhao Xirui was happy by her praise and continued with a smile, “This cream was made by the Li family’s third daughter-in-law. She used rare ingredients like 500-year-old ginseng, precious herbs, and even mountain dew collected over months. This is why she could only make just two jars a month.”

Hearing this, everyone was stunned. Fu Wenli was unable to suppress her curiosity, and asked, “Eldest aunt, is the cream really that effective?”

“Of course!” Zhao Xirui said with pride and showed off her good complexion. “Just look at me. My youthful appearance is all thanks to that cream.”

Every table was full of laughter and chatter, as they ate the snacks. Most of the snacks served on the tables were emptied clean, except for the Xiao family’s table, where the snacks remained untouched.

As the guests waited for the banquet to begin, each table was served cool honey water to beat the heat. Paired with the snacks, no one complained even when the banquet was delayed by half an hour.

When the first dish was finally served, the guests looked at the large bowl of noodles with confusion. It was a simple dish, cold noodles adorned with vibrant vegetables and chili sauce. Although it smells great and the dish looked appetizing, the portion was barely enough for ten people to have a small bowl each.

Seeing just one dish on the table, Su Meiling burst out laughing.

Pointing at the noodles, she sneered, “They are serving only one dish and dared to invite so many people? How embarrassing. They should have invited fewer guests and prepared more food instead.”

Her remark made everyone uncomfortable—except her husband, who remained quiet. While the banquet might not have met everyone’s expectations, voicing such criticism in public was out of line.
