Even Bai Xue’er, at 26 years old, felt her skin had returned to the smoothness of her 17-year-old self. Touching her face, she remarked, “Jiajia, if Jueyu ever sells this cream, she will make a fortune ah!”

Pan Meijia laughed at her words and said, “Sister-in-law, your husband is the mayor’s assistant, yet you are thinking about personal transactions. Aren’t you afraid of getting arrested?”

“Well, as long as no one reports us, who would know?” Bai Xue’er replied boldly.

Pan Meijia thoughtfully studied her sister-in-law’s expression before asking, “Sister-in-law, if you had the opportunity to earn money, would you take it?”

Bai Xue’er, being well-educated and perceptive, immediately sensed the underlying implication in her sister-in-law’s question. She considered for a moment before replying, “As long as the risk isn’t too high and doesn’t harm your brother or nephew, I would do it.”

Pan Meijia nodded, then continued, “Sister-in-law, I have a feeling that Jueyu will expand her business to the capital in the future. If that happens, I would like to help you secure a position as her middleman. You wouldn’t need to set up a store in the black market or go there in person.”

“With your connections through my brother’s job, you would have access to the wealthy Madams and officials’ wives who would be interested in her products. Jueyu’s items aren’t cheap, and the clientele for them will mostly come from affluent circles.”

“You could showcase the products during gatherings, framing it as sharing handmade cream with friends. Without direct evidence of monetary transactions, the authorities wouldn’t have grounds to arrest you.”

“Once you have loyal clients among the influential, they would have to protect you to maintain their access to the product. Once they learn how well the product works, they may even want to sell it to their acquaintances. This will expand the market and minimize risks.”

“What’s more,” Pan Meijia added confidently, “no woman can resist something that enhances their beauty. The market for this business is huge.”

Bai Xue’er stared at her sister-in-law in amazement. Their family had always viewed Pan Meijia as a naive young woman in need of protection. Now, she realized that Meijia had both a sharp mind for business and remarkable courage.

Seeing her sister-in-law remain silent, Pan Meijia pressed on, “Sister-in-law, I heard from Brother Yun that the political situation in the capital is unstable. We need a backup plan to support ourselves instead of relying solely on the government salary.”

After considering the pros and cons, Bai Xue’er nodded and said decisively, “Jiajia, you are right. Tomorrow, I will talk to Jueyu and see if she is open to letting me sell her products.”

Pan Meijia’s face lit up at her words. She quickly held her hands and said, “Sister-in-law, I’m sure Jueyu will be happy to have this collaboration.”

“You have a good friend,” Bai Xue’er said with a small smile.

“Of course!” Meijia replied proudly.

After their conversation, the two finally went to bed with expectation for a better future.

Meanwhile, Pan Chimu parked his military jeep outside the Li family’s rented house.

He came down from the jeep, stood in front of Father Li and said, “Uncle Li, I have to return to the barracks tomorrow, so I’m not sure when I will be able to visit you.”

Father Li nodded understandingly and said with a smile, “You are busy with your work. Come visit whenever you have free time.”

“I will definitely visit soon,” Pan Chimu promised firmly.

“Alright, Uncle will be waiting. Take care on the road,” Father Li replied.

“See you next time, Uncle,” Pan Chimu said with a smile.

After Pan Chimu left, Li Lingyun went to boil water for everyone to wash up. Since they were all tired, Dong Li let his grandfather bathe first before heading to the well with Li Lingyun to take his own bath.

As for Lu Jueyu and Li Chenmo, they each took a basin of hot water, telling others that they will shower tomorrow.

Once they entered their room, Lu Jueyu pulled her husband into her space, where they indulged in a relaxing hot bath before heading to bed. Though they had napped earlier, exhaustion soon claimed them. The moment they touched the pillow, both of them drifted to sleep.

Twelve hours later, they emerged from the space, spending some time reading before taking another nap. When the rooster crowed, Lu Jueyu woke groggily.

As she stirred, Li Chenmo wrapped his arms around her and muttered, “Wife, sleep a little longer. It’s still early.”

Snuggling into her husband’s embrace, Lu Jueyu murmured sleepily, “Husband, I need to prepare things for Meijia. How about you stay in space and sleep a bit more?”

Li Chenmo hummed softly but didn’t open his eyes. It wasn’t sleep he was after, though—he simply wanted to hold his wife a little longer.

Taking his hum as an agreement, Lu Jueyu took the two of them into space. Feeling the softness of the bed beneath him, Li Chenmo instantly realized where they were. Since they had plenty of time in space, why not work harder on their “family plans”?

With this thought, his drowsiness vanished, replaced by a determined gleam in his eye. He leaned down and kissed his wife, catching her off guard. What began as a gentle kiss quickly ignited into a passionate flame.

While she was being tossed and turned by her husband, Lu Jueyu found herself questioning her life. Before her mind was overtaken by a blinding white light, she heard her husband’s hoarse voice whispering in her ear, “Yu’er, I love you.”

As his words faded, she heard a low grunt escape his throat, followed by the sensation of being filled in her lower body. As she reached her peak, she let out a long-pressed moan from her throat and felt her husband’s arms wrap around her tightly, like an anchor of her soul.

Moments later, his hoarse low voice reached her ears again, “Yu’er, we will never be apart again. I promise you.”
