Hearing her husband’s question, Lu Jueyu came back to her senses. She shook her head and said with a smile, “It’s nothing.”

Hearing this, Li Chenmo looked at his wife’s expression thoughtfully. Since she didn’t tell him, then he wouldn’t ask.

Meanwhile, the middle-aged man’s face turned beet red with anger and embarrassment as the neighbors’ accusations escalated. He glanced at his niece with an urge to strangle her.

Gasps rippled through the crowd when the neighbors heard his words. No one had expected such a revelation—this woman was truly shameless and corrupt! Not only did she plot against other women, she also sacrificed her uncle to protect her own reputation!

As more neighbors gathered to watch the spectacle, Li Lingyun gave his third brother a meaningful glance. Catching on quickly, Li Chenmo held his wife’s hand and quietly led her away from the commotion.

Once they were a safe distance away, they turned back briefly to see the uncle and niece tearing into each other.

Shaking her head, Lu Jueyu looked at Li Lingyun and said, “Second Brother, your methods are far too ruthless.”

Hearing this, Li Lingyun chuckled and replied, “For people like them, this is the easiest way to handle things. It’s better to deal with troublemakers decisively than let them fester. After this, I’m sure that man won’t dare to bother us or my in-laws again.”

Hearing this, Lu Jueyu smiled but said nothing. Perhaps her heart wasn’t hard enough to make the same decisions as her second brother-in-law. She knew some people didn’t deserve pity, but she couldn’t bring herself to spread rumors that might cost someone their life.

As the three of them walked into the building, the security guards had already arrived to mediate the argument between the young woman and the middle-aged man. As for the outcome, the Li family didn’t care to know.

Due to the earlier commotion, they didn’t reach the Pan family’s house until 9:10 AM.

Li Lingyun knocked on the door, and after a moment, his wife opened it with a warm smile.

“Brother Yun, you are finally here,” Pan Meijia said with joy in her voice.

She then turned to her friend and added, “Jueyu, Brother-in-law, please come in.”

When they entered, they were taken aback to find the living room filled with the Pan family’s female relatives.

Standing behind their wives, Li Chenmo and Li Lingyun exchanged helpless glances. Clearly, the two of them wouldn’t get much time with their wives today. Surrounded by so many women, they would need to leave soon to avoid stirring up rumors.

He stroked her cheek and said with reluctance, “Since you have guests today, I will leave now. We are leaving tomorrow at 4 AM, so make sure to sleep early. I will come to pick you up.”

Still flustered from the kiss, Pan Meijia nodded shyly, “I will prepare some breakfast for you tomorrow.”

Li Lingyun gave her another quick kiss and smiled, “Okay.”

Inside the house, Li Chenmo handed a bamboo basket to his wife and said, “Wife, I should go now. I will come to pick you up this afternoon.”

Knowing her husband felt uncomfortable around so many women, Lu Jueyu nodded. She pulled out a purse from her pocket and handed it to him.

“There are a few thousand yuan and some coupons inside. You can go to the department store and buy some toys for the children,” she whispered.

Accepting the purse, Li Chenmo nodded and said meaningfully, “Okay, have fun.”

Chuckling at his words, Lu Jueyu replied, “Don’t worry, husband, I will.”

After all, both of them knew the purpose of her visit today. She was ready to enjoy “butchering” some wallets.

With a brief nod to the other women as a farewell, Li Chenmo left. Outside, he saw his second brother hugging Pan Meijia and whispering something with a smug smile.

Clearing his throat loudly, he said, “Second Brother, it’s time for us to leave.”

Startled by the interruption, Pan Meijia pushed Li Lingyun away and stammered, “W-well, see you tomorrow.”

Watching his “silly rabbit” run away, Li Lingyun glared at his third brother.

“Your timing is impeccable!” he grumbled.

Grinning mischievously, Li Chenmo said, “Well, who told you to act like a beast in public? I’m just doing my duty to remind you. It will be bad if someone reports you.”

The two brothers bickered like teenagers as they left, eventually deciding to go on a shopping spree—per Lu Jueyu’s instructions.
