Chapter 1079: Let’s Go Home ( 3 )
When Han Yuheng thought he would lose his wife, their son suddenly cried. He looked at his wife, silently pleading for her to stay. Time passed second by second, yet his wife remained unmoving. Lowering his head, he hugged his son and let out a chuckle.
‘It’s over,’ he thought.
Bai Luyun stood motionless as she smiled with tears rolling down her cheeks. Everyone deserves a second chance. Therefore, she should give herself and her husband a second chance. She didn’t want to regret her cowardice later.
Having made up her mind, she walked over to her husband and leaned forward.
Closing his eyes, Han Yuheng was preparing to stand up. But before he could move, he felt a warm body leaning on his back and a pair of cold arms wrap around his shoulders.
“Husband, take me home,” Bai Luyun whispered hoarsely.
The moment he heard these words, his eyes filled with tears, but he held them back and smiled. He nodded and said hoarsely, “Wife, let’s go home.”
Carrying his wife on his back, he hugged his son with one arm while his wife held the bag. Feeling the heavy burden on his body, a smile appeared on his face. Even if it’s heavy, he found peace in them.
When they arrived home, the night sky was already studded with countless stars.
After locking the gate, Han Yuheng carried their sleeping son to the bedroom and gently laid him on the bed. He softly patted his wife’s arm around his shoulders and said, “Ah Yun, we are home.”
A moment later, Bai Luyun slowly opened her eyes. Looking around, she realized they were indeed back home. For the first time since seeing her husband at the warehouse, she had slept peacefully without a single nightmare.
Snuggling into her husband’s neck, she whispered hoarsely, “Husband, I missed you.”
Han Yuheng froze for a moment at her words. Then, he smiled and replied, “I missed you too, wife.”
Satisfied with his answer, Bai Luyun released him and sat at the edge of the bed. She looked into his eyes and said, “Husband, I want to give us a second chance. Let’s work together to make this marriage succeed, okay?”
Han Yuheng knelt in front of her, took her hands in his, and said earnestly, “Wife, I won’t make empty promises, but I will prove it with my actions. I will do my best to make this marriage work. I don’t want to lose you or our children.”
Bai Luyun saw the determination in his eyes and nodded. After a moment of hesitation, she said, “What about your son with her? Should we—”
Before she could finish, Han Yuheng interrupted firmly, “That child isn’t mine.”
“What?” Bai Luyun was taken aback.
“Wife, that child isn’t mine,” he repeated. “Her husband came to me this morning and told me the truth.”
Lowering his head, he added with guilt, “Wife, I know my past actions were unforgivable. I did things that hurt you deeply, and it’s only fair for you to blame me. But I need you to know—it wasn’t me. My body was controlled by something, and my willpower wasn’t strong enough to resist it.
“Every time I wanted to treat you and our children well, a voice in my head would compel me to do otherwise. The pain of resisting that voice was unbearable. I took the cowardly way out and let myself fall under its control, unknowingly transferring that pain onto you.”
Gritting his teeth, he raised his face to look at her and said, “Wife, if you need to punish me, I will accept it. You can scold me, hit me—I won’t do anything to resist since I deserve it.”
Bai Luyun was stunned by his confession. She finally understood why her heart and mind often felt at odds. She had thought she was losing her sanity, but now she realized she, too, had been under the same control.
Knowing that her husband’s actions weren’t entirely his own eased some of her pain. Though he had chosen the easier path, she couldn’t bring herself to hold it against him.
After all, he was just a human, with both strengths and weaknesses. She wasn’t perfect either—what right did she have to demand perfection from him?
Reaching this conclusion, she leaned forward and pressed her lips to his. Her fingers gently stroked his cheeks, noticing how thin he had become.
Thinking about the suffering he must have endured during this period, tears welled up in her eyes and slid silently down her face.
Han Yuheng froze, stunned by her gentle kiss. He couldn’t believe that his wife was willing to kiss him. After all, she had once said she was disgusted by him and didn’t even want him near her.
His mind went blank with overwhelming joy as his heart was beating fast. When he felt her warm tears on his cheeks, he snapped back to reality. Closing his eyes, he reached out with trembling hands to hold her. When she didn’t resist, happiness surged in his heart, and he deepened the kiss.
As the passion between them grew, he carried her to the room next door. Under the moonlight, they came together with a renewed tenderness and understanding. This time, it wasn’t just their bodies—it was their hearts and souls becoming one.

The next morning, before dawn, Bai Luyun woke up to find herself lying beside her son. Her husband was nowhere to be seen.
For a moment, she thought the events of the previous night had been a dream. But the soreness in her body told her otherwise, and her cheeks flushed at the memory.
While she was still lost in her thoughts, she heard her son stirring and letting out soft cries. Sitting up, she cradled him in her arms and cooed, “Good morning, Ting’er. Wait a moment, Mother needs to clean herself first. Be good, don’t cry.”
After kissing her son, she fetched a wet towel to clean herself before breastfeeding him.
