Chapter 1081: Utterly Conquered
“Let me go! I’m not a criminal!” the old woman screamed while struggling against them.

“You have a knife and still claim innocence?!” a young man shot back angrily while locking the old woman’s arms on her back.

When the officers arrived, they searched the old woman’s belongings and found a packet of powdered sleeping pills hidden in her pocket. The crowd gasped when they saw the medicine.

“This boy doesn’t even look like he is from the village,” a woman observed.

“His clothes are clean, and he is wearing leather shoes. He seems to be a child of rich people,” another person added.

The stark contrast between the old woman and the child raised even more suspicion. The officer’s expression hardened as he said, “Please bring the boy and come with us.”

Unwilling to get involved, the woman holding the child hesitated. But before she could hand him off to another person, a strong pair of arms took the boy. Looking up, she saw a handsome man cradling the sleeping child.

“Officer, please lead the way,” he said firmly.

Lu Jueyu blinked in surprise when she saw the man and asked, “Husband? Why are you here?”

Li Chenmo glanced at her and replied, “You have been gone too long. I came to find you.”

Sensing his displeasure, Lu Jueyu lowered her head and muttered, “Oh.”

Seeing the displeasure on Li Chenmo’s face, the second aunt quickly stepped in to explain, “Chenmo, it’s not Jueyu’s fault. If she hadn’t stepped in, I would have been in serious trouble. Please don’t blame her.”

Li Chenmo nodded at the second aunt and turned to his wife before he said, “Wife, go back to the cabin. We will talk later.”

Hearing this, Lu Jueyu sighed and said, “Okay.”

After recording the second aunt’s statement, the officers interrogated the old woman, uncovering her accomplices. Following the leads, they apprehended five men and two women hiding among the passengers.

When the second aunt and Li Chenmo returned to their cabins, the family was already waiting for them.

Before entering her cabin, the second aunt approached Lu Jueyu and said, “Thank you, Jueyu. If it weren’t for you, I might have been scammed.”

“Second Aunt, we are family. It was the least I could do,” Lu Jueyu replied with a smile.

The second aunt expressed her gratitude once more before leaving. After all, they were still in a public place, where walls had ears so she didn’t give her anything to thank her.

After the second aunt left, Lu Jueyu explained what happened just now. When she finished the explanation, she looked at her husband and said helplessly, “That’s what happened.”

Li Chenmo still felt angry, even after hearing his wife’s explanation. His anger wasn’t directed at her but at himself. He shouldn’t have let her go alone just because she mentioned the second aunt would be there.

Sensing his son’s frustration, Father Li sighed and said, “Third Son, your wife couldn’t have known that person would carry a knife. She was indeed careless, but she did the right thing by helping Meijia’s second aunt.”

Hearing his father’s words, Li Chenmo sighed deeply and replied, “Father, I’m not angry with my wife—I’m angry with myself. If I had accompanied her, she wouldn’t have faced any danger.”

“Husband, I’m fine,” Lu Jueyu said, trying to soothe him. “Didn’t you arrive just in time? Don’t blame yourself for other people’s mistakes.”

Looking at her, Li Chenmo asked, “But what if I had been late? What if something had happened to you? What would I do then?”

Understanding her husband’s worry, Lu Jueyu sighed and stopped arguing. She knew he needed to vent. Once his anger subsided, she would coax him properly.

Seeing his mother and father were currently having a cold war, Dong Li, feeling awkward, suddenly said, “Grandpa, can you take me to the toilet? I can’t hold it anymore.”

Father Li quickly stood and said, “This child! Why didn’t you say something earlier? It’s not good to hold it in. Let’s go.”

Thinking his grandson might be at his limit, Father Li hurriedly took him to the restroom.

Once they were gone, Li Chenmo locked the door behind them and said, “Wife, let’s go inside.”

Seeing her husband’s grim expression, Lu Jueyu resigned herself to her fate.

When they entered the space, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her fiercely. Fueled by anger, the kiss was rough and demanding. Fear surged in Li Chenmo’s heart as he thought about how close his wife had been to danger.

If he hadn’t arrived in time to trip that woman, his wife might have been stabbed. The thought alone made his chest tighten. When he opened his eyes, he found his wife looking at him with teary, dazed eyes.

At that moment, his anger melted, replaced by a fiery passion. As his hands slipped beneath her clothes, a soft hand grabbed his wrist.

“Husband, not now,” Lu Jueyu whispered breathlessly.

Kissing her neck, Li Chenmo coaxed her, “We have enough time.”

From previous experience, she knew it would take her father-in-law and son at least 15 minutes to return from the restroom—equivalent to 15 hours in space. Though they had time, Lu Jueyu hesitated. Her body might end up too sore after their intimate moment.

Before she could decide, Li Chenmo carried her to the bed and undressed her while kissing and caressing her body. By the time Lu Jueyu came to her senses, she was lying naked while her husband was busy removing his own clothes.

As she watched him, her gaze lingered on his toned body. When she saw her husband opening the drawer to get the small umbrella, she licked her lips in anticipation, and said, “Husband, let’s have a child.”

The moment those words reached his ears, Li Chenmo’s self-control snapped. Like a wolf pouncing on its prey, he kissed her greedily. What followed was a tempestuous storm, like a fierce general attacking the city determinedly, leaving the battlefield utterly conquered.
