Dong Li was still considering how to correct his sister’s bad habit when he heard her say, “Brother, I’m sorry.”

“Well, Xiao Huang didn’t want to do my homework, so I lied to my Brother. Xiao Huang’s hands are fine,” she confessed.

Hearing this, Dong Li heaved a sigh inwardly but showed no reaction on his face. He carried his sister, set her down on a chair, and rubbed her head before he asked, “Xiao Huang, do you hate doing homework so much that you would even lie to your brother?”

Initially, Dong Huang thought her brother would scold and punish her. Unexpectedly, he didn’t. Instead, he rubbed her head and asked her gently which made her feel more guilty.

Tears welled in her eyes as she said, “Brother, Xiao Huang didn’t understand the questions and couldn’t finish the homework. Xiao Huang was afraid of making our Father disappointed. So, Xiao Huang…”

Seeing his sister crying like this, Dong Li sighed and wiped her tears away. He hugged her, put her on his lap, and said, “Xiao Huang, no one was born knowing everything. Brother knows it’s hard and frustrating to study, but if you give up, you will never improve.”

“Do you want to live like we did before we were adopted?” he asked.

Shaking her head, Dong Huang said, “Xiao Huang doesn’t want to.”

“If you don’t want to live like that again, you must work harder than others and build your own path. Studying is the only way for us to escape poverty and achieve a better life in the future.

“Since our parents raised us, we must take care of them in their old age. To do that, we need money and a good place to live. To achieve that, we need good jobs. And to get good jobs, we must study well and learn more knowledge and skills,” Dong Li explained.

“So, do you still hate studying?” he asked again.

After a long time, Dong Huang finally nodded before shaking her head.

Seeing this, Dong Li didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. His sister was still young, and it was indeed hard for a child to study willingly.

“Brother, Xiao Huang still dislikes studying. But for our parents, Xiao Huang will study well,” she said.

Satisfied with her answer, Dong Li patted her back gently and said, “Good. Tonight, Brother will help you with your homework. So, don’t give up. In the future, don’t lie—just tell Brother what’s in your heart. If it’s too hard to study, we can take a break and play sometimes.”

Hearing this, Dong Huang nodded and muttered, “Xiao Huang understands.”

“Good girl,” Dong Li smiled.

With his guidance, Dong Huang stopped procrastinating whenever she was told to study.

This time, she truly studied with determination and willingly, which made the process more enjoyable and helped her learn faster. As if she had been enlightened, Dong Huang found the joy of studying and didn’t even notice the time passing.

While the children studied in their room, the Pan family finally agreed to borrow Li Chenmo’s house for the following day. After they cleaned up the table, washed the dishes, and locked the doors, everyone returned to their rooms.

Inside her bedroom, Lu Jueyu locked the door before bringing her husband into her space. The two of them took a bath and spent a long intimate time together before finally going to sleep.

Before falling asleep, Lu Jueyu regretted agreeing to her husband’s request.

She should have limited his time instead of promising they would ‘just do it once’. He had indeed done it once—but it lasted for several hours. She even worried her waist might break from his enthusiasm this time.

However, what was done was done. She could only blame herself for underestimating her husband’s cunningness and shamelessness.

As the two of them slept, Lu Jueyu felt something warm stirring in her belly. Thinking it was just the aftereffects of their passionate intimacy, she dismissed it and drifted into a dreamless slumber.

When she woke up, more than twelve hours had passed. After changing their clothes, she and her husband came out of the space and reappeared in their bedroom. Since it was not yet midnight, the two of them read some books before taking a nap.

Early the next morning, Lu Jueyu and Li Chenmo woke up before dawn. After entering the space to wash up, they headed to the backyard.

While Lu Jueyu boiled water and prepared breakfast, Li Chenmo went to the chicken coop to collect eggs and refill the chickens’ feed and water bowls.

Thanks to the lake water’s enhanced properties, the old hens in their family were almost turned into immortal hens and ascended to the heavens.

They not only produced triple-yolk eggs but also laid six eggs daily which was out of logic. Fortunately, nothing surprised him anymore after witnessing the magical abilities of his wife’s space. Otherwise, he would have doubted his life.

After collecting the eggs, Li Chenmo went to the kitchen and said, “Wife, here are the eggs. We should start using the eggs from your space’s chicken farm instead of these.”

Hearing this, Lu Jueyu nodded and replied, “Since Ah Li already knows about the properties of our drinking water, there is no need to keep those two hens outside anymore.”

Li Chenmo nodded and smiled, “I told you before that Ah Li and my nephews could be trusted, but you insisted on testing them. Now that you have seen the results, are you satisfied?”

Lu Jueyu smiled, nodded, and said with unhidden joy, “Of course. Even if they are your son and nephews, I need to ensure they can be fully trusted before I can be at ease when I ask for their help in the future.”
