Chapter 1144: Wronged
“Good morning, Fuyan’s mother. Why did you block my way? Is there something I can help you with?” Lin Muai asked curiously.

As soon as she finished her words, Shi Qiwan swung her hand and slapped her.

SLAP!

The sound of the slap echoed through the area, followed by Lin Muai’s cry as she fell to the ground, “Ah!”

The force of the slap tore the corner of her lip, and blood seeped from the wound. Her head spun, and her ear rang from the slap. It took her a while to realize what had happened.

She sat on the ground for a long moment before the dizziness subsided. Raising her head, she glared at Shi Qiwan and asked angrily, “Fuyan’s mother, what are you doing?”

Shi Qiwan pointed at her nose and shouted, “You bitch! You seduced my husband and ruined my marriage! Today, I will beat you to death!”

Stunned by her words, Lin Muai froze. Before she could react, Shi Qiwan shoved her to the ground and began beating her.

Using her arms to shield herself, Lin Muai cried, “Fuyan’s mother, stop! There must be some misunderstanding! I didn’t even talk to your husband—how could I seduce him?”

Hearing this, Shi Qiwan gritted her teeth with hatred blazing in her eyes. She grabbed Lin Muai by the throat and yelled, “Slut, you still dare to deny it?! Do you think I didn’t know you gave him mung bean soup?! After he came back that day, he kept pressuring me to get a divorce. You must have instigated him to divorce me!”

As Shi Qiwan strangled her, Lin Muai’s face turned red, and her vision blurred. Her mind went blank, and her lungs felt like they were about to explode from the lack of oxygen. Summoning all her strength, she clawed at Shi Qiwan’s arms, leaving bloody marks.

Shi Qiwan screamed at the pain but tightened her grip, her eyes full of murderous intent as she spat, “Die, slut!”

Just as Lin Muai thought she might die, a thunderous voice was heard, “Shi Qiwan, stop!!”

The strangling hands abruptly pulled away and Lin Muai gasped for air. Holding onto her swollen neck, she coughed violently as her chest heaved, “Cough! Cough! Cough!”

Every breath burned her swollen neck. Tears, snot, and saliva stained her reddened face. With her clothes covered in mud and with her hair disheveled, she looked utterly humiliated.

When her breathing steadied, she turned her head and saw Liu Hua gripping Shi Qiwan’s hair while slapping her furiously.

SLAP! SLAP! SLAP!

With each slap, Liu Hua scolded, “You crazy bitch! You ruined my cousin’s reputation and still have the audacity to spread rumors and spout nonsense about my brother and Teacher Lin!”

“Are you only satisfied when you have completely destroyed my brother?! How dare you say you love him when all you do is harm him?!”

As she scolded, the anger boiled in her heart and rushed to her mind. The angrier Liu Hua became, the harder her slaps landed. Finally, she delivered a heavy slap with all of her strength that knocked Shi Qiwan to the ground, tearing out a clump of her hair in the process.

“Akh!” Shi Qiwan cried out in pain as blood seeped from her scalp, dripping onto her forehead. Her cheeks were swollen while her lips were torn.

Standing over her, Liu Hua pointed a finger and said, “Shi Qiwan, this is your final warning. If you cause trouble for my brother again, I won’t let you off!”

Reaching down, Liu Hua rifled through Shi Qiwan’s clothing and pulled a small pouch out of her pocket. She opened it to find several coupons and some money inside. Without hesitation, she pocketed the contents and threw the empty pouch at Shi Qiwan’s face.

“Today, I will let you go. But if you dare to bother Teacher Lin again, I will report you to the authorities!” she declared.

Shi Qiwan lay motionless on the ground, too dizzy and weak to fight back. All she could do was glare at Liu Hua with hatred.

Noticing her glare, Liu Hua stomped on her stomach and warned, “Behave yourself or don’t blame me for being ruthless. If it weren’t for Ah Yan and Ranran, I would have sent you to prison a long time ago!”

Shi Qiwan grunted in pain and curled up, clutching her stomach. She didn’t dare meet Liu Hua’s eyes.

She had always heard about her sister-in-law’s fearsome temper, but experiencing it firsthand was a different matter. If she had known Liu Hua would appear, she wouldn’t have attacked Lin Muai on the road!

Ignoring her, Liu Hua turned to help Lin Muai up. She handed her the money and coupons and said, “Teacher Lin, I know you were wronged for being beaten for no reason. But for the sake of my nephew and niece, could you please not report her to the authorities?”

“No matter what, having a criminal as their mother would affect the children. If this money and these coupons aren’t enough, I will give you more. Please let her go this time,” she added.

Lin Muai stared at the crumpled money for a moment, then let out a long sigh. She considered the children’s situation and having a criminal for a mother would indeed harm them greatly. It may even become a stumbling block and hinder Liu Fuyan’s bright future.

Swallowing her injustice, she nodded reluctantly. Accepting the money, she said hoarsely, “I understand. I won’t report her to the authorities. But if she bothers me again, I will not let her go.”

Relieved by her words, Liu Hua said, “Thank you, Teacher Lin. I promise this won’t happen again.”

Noticing Lin Muai’s disheveled condition, Liu Hua said, “Teacher Lin, let me help you get back home.”

Realizing how unfit she was to teach in her current state, Lin Muai agreed, “Thank you, Comrade Liu.”

Liu Hua nodded quickly, picked up Lin Muai’s bag, and said, “It’s the least I can do, Teacher Lin.”
