Li Chenze nodded and did not continue the topic. By the time they finished repairing the fence, the sun was setting. Lu Jueyu went to the kitchen to boil hot water for them to wash up and started preparing dinner.

Li Chenze looked at Li Chenmo’s smiling face and felt sour in his heart. Although he has a good relationship with his wife, her wife cares more about their sons than him. What’s more, his wife is a typical village woman. She respected him more than she loved him, so even when they were in bed, she was reserved. They were not as loving as his third brother.

Not noticing his brother’s envy, Li Chenmo said, “Brother, my wife boiled water for us. Let’s go wash up first.”

Li Chenmo walked into the kitchen and saw his wife kneading dough and Zhang Dongmei making dumplings.

Seeing him coming, Lu Jueyu smiled and said, “Husband, I made ginger soup. Drink it first.”

Li Chenmo saw the ginger soup on the brazier and said, “Thank you, wife.”

He poured the ginger soup into two bowls and then handed one bowl to Li Chenze who was waiting outside. After drinking the ginger soup, they took hot water and went to the backyard to wipe themselves.
