Male Lead's Canon Fodder Wife - Chapter 1150
Chapter 1150: Bamboo Greenhouse
Despite Shi Qiwan’s struggle to break free from her brothers’ grips, she was dragged back to her room. As soon as she was pushed into the room, the door was locked.
“Qiwan! You better stay there and behave! If you try to escape, I will break your legs!”
Leaving these words, her brothers turned around and left. As for Shi Qiwan, she could only cry in her room, regretting her past actions and decisions.
While the Shi family was shrouded in a strange atmosphere of joy and despair, Li Chenmo and Lu Jueyu were busy cleaning up the yard on the west wing.
The yard was beautifully decorated with an artificial pond, a small mountain, stone slab pathways, and flowers. To transform the yard into their vegetable garden, Lu Jueyu stored all the flowers, stone slabs, the artificial pond, and the small mountain into her space.
Afterward, she used the black soil from her space to fill up the pond and employed a small machine to clean up the stones and weeds. Once the yard was cleared, she took out a small tractor to plow the land.
Since she used lake water and fertilizer from her space, she didn’t need to worry about the soil lacking nutrients. She also didn’t need to wait a long time to plant the area.
Before planting the yard, Li Chenmo built a greenhouse while Lu Jueyu purchased an HVAC machine from her space store. Fortunately, the machine wasn’t expensive due to its small size. The only challenge was electricity, so they decided to use solar power.
The solar panels were installed on the roof of their house, hidden from view both near and far. Thanks to advanced tools and machines, Li Chenmo managed to complete the installation of the solar panels before noon.
To conceal the cables, they used bamboo poles and drilled small holes for the cables to connect to the machine. The HVAC machine was hidden in the corner of the greenhouse and covered with straw.
While Li Chenmo was building the greenhouse, Lu Jueyu went to clean up the yard on the east wing. It took her two hours to clean and plow the land. Although it was called a small yard, it spanned approximately 100 square meters.
The small greenhouse measured around 80 to 100 square meters and the size could be adjusted. Medium-sized greenhouses ranged from 200 to 300 square meters. The size of the greenhouses was a testament to how expansive the Li family’s ancestral house was.
In the modern era, a small manor like this would cost at least 100 million yuan—not just for its large area but also for its historical value.
After several hours of work, Lu Jueyu stored all the machines in her space before heading to find her husband. When she reached the west wing yard, she was surprised to see the almost-complete greenhouse.
Although built using bamboo, the greenhouse was sturdy and well-constructed. The bamboo walls were layered with thatch, with polyethylene plastic film sandwiched in between.
The same method was used for the roof, but with an additional removable section. Using a simple mechanism, Li Chenmo had designed the thatch roof to slide aside, allowing sunlight to enter the greenhouse through the plastic film.
Impressed by the bamboo greenhouse, Lu Jueyu praised her husband, “Husband, you are so smart! With this movable system, we won’t need to use UV lights in the greenhouse.”
Hearing his wife’s words, Li Chenmo smiled and said, “I read about this mechanism in a book and decided to try it. I didn’t expect it to work so well.”
After thinking for a moment, he added, “Wife, although the roof can be moved, it’s still heavy and requires a lot of strength. In the future, leave this task to me.”
Knowing her husband was strong enough for such tasks, Lu Jueyu readily agreed, “Okay!”
Checking her watch, she said, “Husband, how about we take a break? I’m hungry.”
Noticing it was noon and the children would be back soon, Li Chenmo nodded and replied, “Then, let’s go inside.”
The two went to their bedroom, and from there, Lu Jueyu brought them into her space. Inside, they took a bath and had lunch.
After lunch, instead of leaving the space, they took a nap and continued preparing more greenhouse materials. They spent over ten hours inside before stepping out, refreshed from another shower and some rest.
When they reappeared in their bedroom, they resumed building the greenhouse. Before long, the west wing greenhouse was complete, and they heard footsteps coming from the house.
“Father, Mother, we are back!”
Hearing Dong Huang’s voice, Li Chenmo wiped his wife’s sweat and said, “Wife, we will continue tomorrow. Let’s have a meal with the children first.”
“Okay.”
Lu Jueyu went to the kitchen and took out a basket of steamed rice, a bowl of chicken soup, a plate of Mapo tofu, a plate of sautéed eggplant, and a plate of cucumber salad for lunch.
The children’s eyes lit up at the sight of the meal. They took their seats and began eating as Dong Huang recounted what had happened to Lin Muai.

Hearing her story, Lu Jueyu was taken aback. She thought people would be punished for violence in this era. Why did so many still dare to beat people in public places?
Unaware of her mother’s shock, Dong Huang continued, “Mother, do you think Teacher Lin will report Sister Fuyan’s mother to the police?”
After a moment of thought, Lu Jueyu shook her head and replied, “Since you said Teacher Lin cares deeply for Fuyan, she probably won’t report her mother. It would affect Fuyan and her brother’s future if their mother had a criminal record.”
“But won’t Teacher Lin feel sad for being beaten unfairly?” Dong Huang asked while frowning.
“Well, whatever choice Teacher Lin makes, she must have thought it through. If she doesn’t report Fuyan’s mother, it means she values Fuyan and Ranran’s future more than her unfair treatment,” Lu Jueyu explained.
“Teacher Lin is truly admirable,” Dong Li added with a nod.
