Forty minutes later, Liu Hua arrived at Doctor Xie’s house. Seeing him picking medicinal herbs in the front yard, she walked into the yard and greeted, “Good morning, Doctor Xie.”

Hearing her voice, Doctor Xie paused his work and looked up, “Girl, you are here.”

“Doctor Xie, I brought something for you,” Liu Hua replied while raising the bamboo basket in her hand.

Seeing this, Doctor Xie’s eyes flashed briefly with interest, and he smiled. “Come in.”

After they sat in the living room, Doctor Xie opened the bamboo basket and examined its contents. Taking out a jar, he opened it and inspected the ointment inside. Satisfied with the quality of the ointment, he nodded and asked, “Why is there only this much?”

“Doctor Xie, this is all we have at the moment. I asked Jueyu, and she said she can only make up to 80 jars per day at most. If she tries to produce more, she won’t be able to guarantee the quality of the ointment,” Liu Hua explained.

Hearing this, Doctor Xie didn’t press the matter further and asked, “When will I receive the rest of the ointment?”

“Possibly the day after tomorrow I will deliver another batch of the ointment,” Liu Hua replied.

Recalling her earlier conversation with Jueyu, she added, “Doctor Xie, if you are interested in long-term cooperation, you should visit Jueyu and discuss it directly with her.”

Raising an eyebrow, Doctor Xie remarked, “That girl really knows how to do business.”

Although Liu Hua didn’t catch the underlying meaning of his words, she nodded in agreement, “Of course, Jueyu is very smart.”

Glancing at her, Doctor Xie muttered, “Even a fool has a fool’s luck.”

Before Liu Hua could respond, he said, “Wait here. I will get the money.”

Shortly after, he returned with an envelope. He handed the envelope to her and said, “Count it first.”

Liu Hua took the envelope eagerly and carefully counted the money. She counted the money slowly, ensuring she didn’t make any mistakes.

Ten minutes later, she finished counting and said, “It’s 1,500 yuan in total. Doctor Xie, the amount is correct.”

“Good. Go back and tell that girl I will visit her this evening,” Doctor Xie said, waving his hand dismissively.

Knowing that he was busy, Liu Hua didn’t linger. She took her leave and hid the envelope securely in her clothes. With the money safely tucked away, she hurried back toward Lu Jueyu’s house in hurried steps.

After he was alone, Doctor Xie wrote a letter and packed it along with the wound ointment. Once everything was prepared, he locked his door and headed to the production team’s office to find Comrade Han.

When he arrived at the office, he found it empty except for Comrade Han, who was busy working on a report.

Seeing Doctor Xie enter the office, Comrade Han paused his work and greeted him, “Doctor Xie, it’s rare to see you here. What can I do for you?”

Placing the package on the table, Doctor Xie said, “Comrade Han, I need your help to send this package to the capital.”

He then pulled a piece of paper and ten yuan from his pocket, adding, “Here is the address and the postal fee.”

Comrade Han accepted the money and asked, “Is this matter urgent, Doctor Xie?”

“Well, it’s not particularly urgent, but it would be better if you could send it today,” Doctor Xie replied.

Hearing this, Comrade Han nodded and said, “I will send it after lunch since I need to deliver a document to the town as well.”

“Thank you. If you ever feel unwell, I will provide you with free treatment,” Doctor Xie offered.

Comrade Han chuckled at his words and replied, “Then I won’t hesitate to take you up on that, Doctor Xie.”

Doctor Xie nodded, feeling a good impression of this polite man. With his important matter taken care of, he returned home and resumed picking medicinal herbs.

Meanwhile, at Liu Piao’s house, Lin Muai watched in horror as a group of people smashed the vegetable garden. Held firmly by two middle-aged women, she could only shout in panic, “Stop smashing! Please stop!”

Annoyed by her shouting, one of the middle-aged women scolded her harshly, “Shut your mouth! If you weren’t a teacher, I would have beaten you to teach you a lesson!”

Lin Muai glared at her and said angrily, “Sister-in-law, no matter what the issue is, we should sit down and talk. Why resort to violence? You are breaking the law!”

The woman spat on the ground in disdain and snapped, “This is my Huang family matter! You, an outsider, have no right to meddle! As my family’s daughter-in-law, she dares to get involved with a wild man. I want to see if that shameless woman dares to go against my family today!”

While the Huang family wreaked havoc on Liu Piao’s property, Zhang Yulan was sprinting toward the production team’s office.

She had initially gone to Liu Piao’s house to confront her about her intentions with her brother. However, before reaching the house, she saw the Huang family arrive and started smashing everything without a word.

Judging by their aggressive demeanor, it was clear they were there to cause trouble. Unsure who could help Liu Piao, Zhang Yulan decided to find the team leader.

Her hurried running caught the attention of the villagers. One of them called out curiously, “Zhang girl, what’s the matter? Why are you in such a rush?”

Zhang Yulan stopped briefly, taking deep breaths before blurting out anxiously, “Aunt Sun, the Huang family from the neighboring village is causing trouble! They are smashing Sister Liu Piao’s house and beating Teacher Lin!”

The villagers were shocked at her words. While they might not have cared about the Huang family’s feud with Liu Piao, attacking Lin Muai was a different matter.

Teachers were highly valued in their brigade, and the leader put lots of attention to their safety. If anything happened to her, their village would not only be blamed but might also face serious consequences.
