When Grandma Feng looked up, she saw her daughter-in-law standing there, staring back at her in confusion. Ignoring the others beside her, Grandma Feng rushed over and hugged her tightly.

Turning around, they saw a boy and a girl staring at them from the entrance. The girl’s eyes were wide with disbelief, while the boy’s expression was cold and distant, as though he were looking at a stranger.

The villagers looked at this scene with surprise and jealousy on the side. Many people are jealous of Ye Xinyue because she is the most beautiful girl in the village, and she is smart and lucky. She found a job in the city and had a good in-law.

Therefore, when they learned that she was divorced and kicked out by her husband, they gloated over her misfortune for so many years. They also pointed at her son and scolded him to vent their jealousy towards the mother.

They thought she would die outside. Who knew she would come back five years later with a better man than her ex-husband?

After speaking, he turned and walked away without looking back.

Dong Huang frowned as she watched him leave. After hesitating for a moment, she said to Ye Xinyue, “Auntie, I don’t know why you abandoned Ah Lin or why you have come back now. But now you have a new family.”

“Even without you or his father, Ah Lin still has Grandpa, Grandma, me, and my family. He has lots of friends and won’t be lonely. So, you don’t need to pity him. Ah Lin is living well now. You have hurt him before. Please don’t hurt him again.”

With that, Dong Huang turned and ran after Feng Lin while shouting, “Ah Lin, wait for me!”

Standing in the yard, Ye Xinyue was stunned. Tears streamed down her face as she cried uncontrollably. She didn’t remember much beyond her name and vague memories of a boy named Feng Lin.

After five years of treatment, she finally recovered fragments of her lost memories. As soon as she recalled the address of her old home, she and her husband rushed over, driving for two days and a night to get there.

She had thought her son would be happy to see her. Unexpectedly, he treated her like a stranger–no, he looked at her as if he was looking at an enemy.
