The location was ideal. They wouldn’t have to worry about water sources and the large yard could be used to grow vegetables and some fruits.

While exploring, Liu Fuyan discovered two underground cellars that could be used to store grains, potatoes, and other things. With these two cellars, they wouldn’t need to build a large warehouse.

Thirty minutes later, Shi Qiwan said, “Comrade, I want this house.”

Hearing this, Comrade Han asked, “Are you sure? The production team doesn’t have extra funds to rebuild the house. If you want to live here, you will have to cover the costs yourself.”

Forcing a smile, she replied, “No, I’m moving out of my parents’ house.”

Liu Hua’s expression changed when she heard her niece’s words. She looked at Shi Qiwan in disbelief and asked, “How can you be so foolish? You left everything to them—how will you survive?”

“Aunt, it’s not my mother’s fault. I was the one who pulled her away without thinking. Now, it’s impossible for us to go back and get her belongings. If we try, they will definitely beat us again,” Liu Fuyan explained.

“This won’t do. I have had enough of those ungrateful bastards. Today, we are taking back everything they owe you,” Liu Hua said firmly.

Hearing this, Comrade Han quickly interjected, “Sister-in-law, you can’t just go and beat people again. If you get reported, you will have to stay in the police station for re-education.”

Comrade Han and Shi Qiwan stared at her, unsure whether she was joking or serious.

As she was lost in thought, Liu Hua asked, “Comrade Han, can we find workers and buy materials ourselves?”

Comrade Han nodded and replied, “As long as you submit the house design and fill out the necessary forms, the brigade will grant permission. However, the ownership of the house remains with the brigade and you will only have the right to use it.”
