“Father, don’t worry. My second brother knows what he is doing,” Li Chenze assured his father.

Just after he finished his words, Zhang Dongmei walked out from the kitchen while holding her big belly. Her pregnancy was already entering the 35th week. While her belly was not as big as Wang Muxiao’s, she was slim, so it made her belly look bigger than usual.

“Second sister-in-law, you are here. Have you eaten?” she asked.

Pan Meijia was worried that she would fall and quickly went to support her. Holding her arm, she said, “Eldest sister-in-law, I have eaten.”

After she said this, Father Li spoke up, “Second daughter-in-law, take some sausage and pickled vegetables back with you later. When you send grains to your parents, send those over as well.”

Houzi poured a cup of water for him and said, “It’s just as you see. Your brother-in-law is here to talk business with me.”

Raising his eyebrows, Pan Chiyan asked, “Business? What kind of business?”

Li Lingyun pushed the cup closer and said, “Eldest Brother, drink some water first.”

Though curious, Pan Chiyan remained calm after the initial shock. He drank the water before saying, “Now you can explain. What’s going on? What business are you talking about?”

Knowing his cousin’s personality, Houzi didn’t keep him in suspense and explained, “Cousin, you know I sell meat in addition to grains, right?”

Pan Chiyan nodded and replied, “Of course.”

“Well, Boss Ling is my supplier,” Houzi said, dropping the bomb.

The moment Pan Chiyan heard this, he looked at them with wide eyes. It took him a moment to process the words before he said, “You mean Jiajia’s husband is the one supplying meat to your store?”

“Eldest Brother, I’m sorry for hiding this from you,” Li Lingyun said.

Li Lingyun nodded and replied, “After we confirm our relationship, I told Jiajia everything.”

This time, Pan Chiyan went silent for a long while as he stared at Li Lingyun. He had always thought his brother-in-law was just an honest villager, a hardworking farmer. Unexpectedly, he was a cunning fox with the courage of a tiger.
