After hearing his wife’s words, Li Chenmo nodded and said, “Mhmm, ride slowly and be careful on the road.”

After she finished preparing items for Father Li, she went to get a smaller bamboo basket and put twenty eggs, one kilogram of brown sugar, and half kilogram of fruit slices on it. After that, she locked the door and rode her bicycle to Lu’s house. It had been a while since her last visit.

Since there was nothing going on at home, she decided to visit her second sister-in-law to see how her nephew and niece were doing. Riding a bicycle, she arrived at Lu’s house in less than fifteen minutes.

As soon as she entered the front yard, she saw her second sister-in-law hanging their winter clothes on the bamboo poles and the children were playing in the veranda. When Wang Muxiao saw her coming, she said with a wide smile, “Jueyu, you are here.”

“Second sister-in-law, how are you?” Lu Jueyu asked after parking her bicycle.

“I’m fine. Although I can’t work in the fields, I can still cook and do housework. What brings you here today?” Wang Muxiao asked.

“I bought some eggs and snacks for the children.” Lu Jueyu said, showing the items in the bamboo basket.

Seeing the eggs and brown sugar, Wang Muxiao’s eyes lit up and said with a smile, “You can just come over. Why bring anything?”

Despite having said that, she reached out her hand and took the bamboo basket from Lu Jueyu’s hand.

Lu Jueyu had become accustomed to her character, so she just smiled and said, “My parents and brothers always give me things. I can’t just accept them without giving anything in return. Even if we are a family, politeness is needed.”

“Aiya, no need to bother with those courtesy.” Wang Muxiao said as she waved her hand.

After saying that, Wang Muxiao walked into the house and put away the things. Lu Jueyu followed her. When she stood in front of the children, the children stood up obediently and said in unison, “Little aunt.”

Lu Jueyu squatted down and patted their heads one by one. When she reached out to Lu Wenfeng, the little girl suddenly threw herself into her arms. She rubbed her head on Lu Jueyu’s shoulder and said, “Little auntie, Xiaofeng misses you.”

Then she looked at Lu Wenyi and Lu Wenmu and said, “Auntie misses you two too.”

Hearing her words, both children laughed and hugged her legs. The children clung to her body, and Lu Jueyu could only walk slowly. Wang Muxiao came out of the kitchen and found it good to see that the children had such a harmonious relationship with Lu Jueyu.

She poured Lu Jueyu a glass of warm water and said, “You see they are all so clingy to you. If I told people how afraid they were of you before, who would believe me?”
