In the county town, after Li Chenxuan came back from Xie village, he went to the room he rented and put all the food in the cabinet. Father Jiao glanced at his daughter again, then left the ward before he returned home. Li Chenxuan, on the other hand, was sitting on the chair beside the bed, showing no intention of wiping his wife’s body or taking care of her.

Soon after, Professor Zhang walked into the ward followed by several doctors and nurses. Seeing Li Chenxuan, he walked over and asked, “Comrade Li, have you discussed your wife’s treatment plan with your family?”

Seeing them entering the ward, Li Chenxuan stood up. Hearing Professor Zhang’s question, he lowered his head, looking like a desperate husband. His shoulders shook several times before he raised his hand to wipe his tears. The young doctors and nurses felt pity for him when they saw him.

Because of the donation, he was in a good mood and didn’t mind Mother Jiao’s attitude.
