The man was startled by his wife’s words and said, “Who hit you? There is no one at home except Wang Muxiao. You should have no problem dealing with a weak pregnant woman.”

“What a weak pregnant woman? She is as strong as an ox!” the woman said through gritted teeth when she felt the pain on her face and body.

After taking a few deep breaths and calming down, she asked, “Husband, are you sure they have the gold?”

Upon hearing her words, the man quickly covered his wife’s mouth, made a shushing gesture, and said, “Keep your voice down, what if someone hears you?”

But when they returned home, they saw Lu Cheng making pancakes in the kitchen. Looking at the tidy yard, they felt that the villagers had exaggerated the scene of the fight. After making sure Wang Muxiao was fine, they scolded Lu Cheng for half an hour before letting him go.

After spending an exciting afternoon, Wang Muxiao finally felt a little uncomfortable after waking up from her nap. Mother Lu was worried that something would happen to her and her unborn baby, so she refused to let her cook.

In the kitchen, Chen Anwen and Pan Meijia were cooking. Mother Lu came over and said, “Eldest daughter-in-law, put more meat in tonight’s meal, and make a bowl of steamed eggs for your sister-in-law.”

Pan Meijia sighed and said, “Sister-in-law, you are so lucky. You have a good mother-in-law.”

After hearing her words, Chen Anwen smiled and said, “Isn’t your future father-in-law also very good? If you marry Li Lingyun, you will become Jueyu’s second sister-in-law. I have to trouble you to take care of her more.”

After cooking dinner, Pan Meijia divided them into two parts and put her and her boyfriend’s shares into the bamboo basket. Just after she finished washing up, Li Lingyun came over. Seeing that it was almost dinner time, he did not go in and waited for his girlfriend outside.
