When they arrived, Li Lingyun picked up Dong Huang from the bamboo basket, put her down, and said, “Go and wash your hands. We will have lunch together.”

Dong Li lowered his head and thought for a long time. After weighing the pros and cons, he finally nodded and said, “I understand. Thank you, Uncle.”

Li Chenze smiled and said, “Good. From now on, you are a member of the Li family. If you are bullied, you must find your uncle or your adoptive parents. Stop taking matters into your own hands. Do you understand?”

Hearing his words, Li Chenze breathed a sigh of relief. This child still can be taught. He took out a tube of ointment from his clothes, took Dong Li’s hand, applied some medicine on the red and swollen fingers, and said, “Let’s go, everyone is waiting for us.”

They walked back together and sat at the same table as Father Li. Father Li saw the Dong siblings and said, “Come, sit beside Grandpa.”

Dong Huang didn’t understand what the actions of Father Li and the Li family meant, so she smiled and sat next to Father Li. But Dong Li and everyone understands. The Seventh Branch has made its intentions clear. Although Dong Li and Dong Huang have different surnames, they are their children.

The news that the Dong siblings were adopted by Li Chenmo spread in the afternoon. It was precisely because some of the daughters-in-law of the Li family were jealous of Lu Jueyu and wanted to make people think that she was infertile that she asked her husband to adopt two children.

Lu Jueyu patted his head and said softly, “It’s alright. However, I hope that both of you will come and live with us. Our house has many rooms, and your house needs repairs. More importantly, it would be easier for us to take care of each other if we lived together.”

Lu Jueyu felt happy when she heard that Dong Li finally agreed. Besides pitying them, she also liked them. They are obedient, smart, hard-working, and very sensible. She had seen their house before and was worried it wouldn’t withstand the rain or snow.

As they walked, Li Chenmo looked at them and smiled. As long as his wife is happy, he will support her decision. Now, after they register the children’s name in their household registration, they can become their legal guardians.
