After leaving Houzi’s place, Li Lingyun did not return directly to Xie village, but went to a state-owned restaurant.

The young woman was annoyed by the chef and said, “I know, coming!”

Forty minutes later, Li Lingyun parked his bicycle in the center area of the production team. He looked around and saw his girlfriend pulling weeds under the scorching sun.

Seeing her face flushed from the heat, he walked over to her. He stood beside her, held her arm, and said, “Jia Er, take a break and rest for a while.”

Hearing his voice, Pan Meijia stopped what she was doing and raised her head. Seeing her boyfriend looking at her with a frown, she stood up and said, “Brother Yun, you are here.”

Due to the hot weather and the sudden movement, she felt dizzy and almost fell down.

Looking at her pale lips and a layer of sweat on her forehead, he said, “Stop working and rest.”

From his tone, Pan Meijia knew that he was not asking for her opinion. She felt dizzy and nauseous at this moment. So said nothing, and followed her boyfriend to the big tree beside the field.

With the support of her boyfriend, she sat under the tree. She leaned against the tree trunk and said, “Brother Yun, I’m fine. I just felt a little dizzy because I stood up suddenly.”

Li Lingyun didn’t speak when he heard his girlfriend’s words. He knew that she was very stubborn and would only eat soft, not hard. So he held back his words and poured her a glass of water.

He put the cup to her lips and said, “You almost got heat stroke. Drink some water first.”

Pan Meijia glanced at him, drank the water, and asked, “Brother Yun, what brings you here at this time?”

Seeing the color slowly returning to her face, Li Lingyun breathed a sigh of relief.

“I bought you some soup dumplings. Eat them while they are warm,” he said as he opened the package and handed her a bowl of soup dumplings.

Pan Meijia held the bowl and said, “But it’s not lunch time and my work is not done yet.”

Li Lingyun patted her head and said softly, “You work since morning and must be hungry. Now, you should eat and take a nap. Don’t worry about your work.”

The soup dumplings were at the right temperature and she was indeed hungry. So, Pan Meijia nodded and started eating.

From the moment they first met at his third brother’s wedding banquet, Li Lingyun liked to watch her eat the most. Although it sounds ridiculous and strange, he is attracted to her because he sees her eating so well and even when she burps, she looks cute.

From then on, he would come to this village every few days to look for Xiao Li, just to take a look at her. He thought he could only watch her from a distance, but he didn’t expect that their fates would be intertwined without warning.
