“Jianmin, you can bring as much as you want, as long as you can carry them back,” Dong Li said with a smile.

It took them several hours to get five bags of grain as it needed to be harvested and processed. Each bag weighs about 25 kilograms and is tied to a stick that can be carried over the shoulder.

The children each carry one while Li Chenmo carries three bags. Together with vegetables, fish, and mushrooms, the weight they carried was more than 80 kilograms.

Although it is nothing to Li Chenmo to carry more than 150 kg weight, it is a heavy burden to Chen Jianmin and Dong Li. Therefore, it takes them longer to return.

Finally arriving at the foot of the mountain, Li Chenmo said, “We should go back first. We can come back tomorrow morning to get the honeycomb.”

Both Dong Li and Chen Jianmin felt their shoulders were burning and their whole bodies ached. So, they did not refuse and readily agreed.

Li Chenmo saw their tiredness and was very satisfied that neither of them uttered a word of complaint. He patted their heads and said, “Keep walking, we will be home in less than half an hour.”

After hearing his words, both children cheered up and dragged their sore legs.

When they arrived at Li Chenmo’s house, the sun had already set. As soon as the bamboo basket was put down, Dong Li and Chen Jianmin collapsed to the ground, laying there motionless.

Their clothes were soaked with sweat, as if they had just been fished out of the river.

Li Chenmo looked at them, chuckled, and shook his head. He took their bamboo basket and inspected the fish. Although the fish fainted, it was not dead. So, he put the fish into a basin of water. Within five minutes, the fish started swimming again.

Not long after, Dong Huang’s footsteps were heard from the front yard. When she saw her father bringing back so many fish, she shouted, “Father, you bring back so many fish!”

Before Li Chenmo could turn around, he felt that the small figure had already gotten into his arms. He smiled and said, “Father smells bad, so don’t hug me.”

Regardless of her father’s sweat and body odor, Dong Huang grabbed her father’s clothes, stayed in his arms and asked, “Father, can we have grilled fish tonight?”
