After a long silence, Grandpa Feng finally asked coldly, “Didn’t you say in your letter that you would never come back? What are you doing here now?”

Hearing his father’s words, Feng Chen’s heart sank and he quickly explained, “Father, I didn’t say I wouldn’t come back. I wrote clearly that I will come back when everything calms down.”

Grandpa Feng glanced at his new daughter-in-law Yan Mengyao and his youngest grandson Feng Heng before asking, “Is this what you call after everything calms down?”

“Father, that’s not what I meant. Listen to me first,” Feng Chen tried to explain.

Grandpa Feng slammed the table and said angrily, “What explanation do you have? You and your ex-wife decided to divorce without telling me, this old man. After the divorce, you didn’t even bother to send money to your son, let alone come back to visit him.”

This time, not only Feng Chen and Yang Mengyao were shocked. Even Grandpa Feng and Grandma Feng did not expect that their filial and polite grandson would actually say those rude words.

Before they could react, Feng Lin looked at his grandparents and said, “Grandpa, Grandma, there are guests at home. It isn’t convenient for me to stay at home. I’m going to go play with Xiao Huang. I will be back when the guests leave.”

With that, he left the room without sparing a glance at his father and headed for the door.
